Lives and works in Brighton & Hove, United Kingdom. ARTISTS STATEMENT: I am a contemporary mosaic artist. My goal? To celebrate and challenge the art of mosaic. Colour underpins everything I create. The approach: intuitive. In my work over twenty five yearsI have developed a striking and vibrant style. The work has included architectural wall and floor features, decorative pieces and sculptures. Whilst developing my sculptural practice I was one of the first in Britain to import concrete construction techniques specifically for mosaic making from North America. This led to my recent postgraduate enquiry into how to translate fragment to form. To take the tile (tesserae) from the surface and make it the object in itself. After all, mosaic originated in Roman construction techniques, it did not begin as decoration. Experience in working to commission for private, corporate and public clients has equipped me with a broad spectrum of skills. They range from design and making to fine judgement about enhancing a space. It is underpinned by a careful interpretation of the clients’ requirements. The art of mosaic, often overlooked and undervalued, is rich in culture, materials and skill. It’s traditions and versatility I continue enthusiastically to embrace. My purpose? To stimulate discussion about the mosaic-making process and to contribute to its' position as both a craft and a fine art form. Currently I focus on producing new sculptural artwork for exhibition and sale.

We are aware that not all children will want to become the next Olympic Champion, but we believe every child should have the opportunity to learn to swim and be given the key swimming skills to enable them to reach their maximum potential. Diamond Swim Academy will provide swimmers with the skill set required as well as retaining the all-important element of fun. We are two families that have come together to form Diamond Swim Academy. We all met though swimming and were all National or International Swimmers. As ex swimmers we know what is required at a fundamental level to ensure that swimmers are given the correct skills and opportunity to reach their potential. We are proud to say we offer that individualised service at Diamond Swim Academy. We purposely do not run lessons back to back to enable a 10 minute break between lessons. We do this as we anticipate that children may take longer to get in/out or that a parent/guardian may want to talk to the teachers to discuss their childs/swimmers progress. The 10 minute gap ensures each lesson gets the full half hour of quality teaching. At Diamond Swim Academy we work closely with the National Governing Body of Swimming, The Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) and use the British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway and complementary awards, as the basis of our lessons. The British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway is the overarching programme for Learn to Swim. Within this pathway, Diamond Swim Academy use the ASA Foundation Framework, ASA Learn to Swim Framework and ASA Adult Framework. Diamond Swim Academy also add additional elements to each framework depending on the swimmers requirements. Swimmers will work towards achieving a set of outcomes that Diamond Swim Academy have set in conjunction with the ASA awards criteria, before progressing up through our lesson programme. Once a swimmer achieves a set of outcomes we like to recognise their achievement with the relevant award which is made up of a badge and a certificate. Hannah Jones established the swim school in 2011 after teaching at Esporta for several years and growing a loyal client base through achieving consistently fast improved swimming skills, after Esporta closed Hannah seized the opportunity to set up her own swimming business. We are based at Parkhall Business Village and operate from our own custom built swimming facility, we provide swimming lessons for both children and adults. We work with a variety of abilities varying from non-swimmers to competitive athletes, offering small group, private sessions and specific skill classes such as diving or life saving. We also offer in school holidays Mermaid sessions. Our goal at Hannah Jones Swim Academy is to provide effective teaching, designed to boost your child's water confidence, swimming knowledge, water safety and skills Our groups are arranged according to the swimmers' ability, the children are then assessed to achieve awards based around the Swim England framework. ABOUT US Multiflex School Sports was originally started in 1989 by athletics coaches Tom Davies and Ron Newton. The original company name was T & R Sports Development. T & R Sports Development were given financial backing by ICI and later Astra Zeneca to deliver a sporting programme to Primary schools and High Schools to enthuse young children about sport. This programme used high achievers in sport such as Great Britain international athletes and professional Basketball players to deliver a programme that not only developed fitness and skill levels of young children but increased their enjoyment of sport and gave them a route into sports clubs outside of the school environment. Following the success of this programme Multiflex Sports was formed and went on to continue this sporting programme with local authorities and also Sports-hall athletics and Eveque sport and leisure. In 2005 the government introduced P.P.A. (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) to all UK Primary Schools. This meant that all teachers would then be allocated 2 hours a week away from their class timetable to make use of their PPA time effectively. Coincidently 2 hours a week is also the amount of time each child should receive P.E. lessons for so Multiflex altered their business model to provide PPA cover for schools in and around Cheshire. Mark Webb who is the Managing director of Multiflex realised there was an opportunity to provide high quality P.E. lessons in line with the National curriculum guidance on a weekly basis, whilst also providing support for schools and teachers through PPA cover. Multiflex developed a P.E. scheme for Primary schools that covered 6 areas of sport in line with the curriculum.
