La Petite Ecole Française (PEF) is an independent French school that follows the French national education system. The school is part of the AEFE (Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger) and enables its students to progress to existing French speaking schools in London. PEF has been awarded French Education Nationale ‘Homologation’ status for all its levels from Petite Section to CM2. The ‘Homologation’ confirms that the school is following the learning methods and objectives of the French curriculum. The school caters for up to 190 children from the age of 3 to 11, after which they progress to schools such as the Lycée Français, Ecole Primaire Jacques Prévert or the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill. There are currently two Petite Section classes, one Moyenne Section class, one Grande Section class, and a double-level MS/GS. In the primary section, there are double-level classes for CP/CE1 and CE2/CM1 and a single-level class for CM2. The classes are intentionally kept small so that each child can be given the special attention they require. La Petite Ecole Française was founded in 1983. At the end of June 2010 the school relocated to 73 Saint Charles Square. The current location is ideal for a nursery school; it is set away from the main road, the playground is large and the classrooms are light and well designed. The school operates from two ground floors and a first floor, which have been extensively refurbished, whilst maintaining a homely feel. Entry is non-selective and we invite those who are interested to make an appointment with the office to visit the school. However, as the school follows the French national education system and the majority of the lessons are in French, the children are expected to be conversant in French (only for Primary levels) prior to joining the school.

On becoming an independent social enterprise, we went on to deliver large-scale neighbourhood regeneration programmes like the Single Regeneration Budget, New Deal for Communities and Neighbourhood Renewal Funding. In 2011 Renaisi was part of the consortium that set up the Big Local programme. Our role managing the ‘reps’ took us beyond London and allowed us to bring together the two halves of our expertise; supporting communities and social research. Alongside that national work we delivered services in Islington, Haringey and Hackney that helped migrant communities get the most out of the local school system. While the policy and funding landscape has changed a lot in the last 20+ years, ‘place’ has remained the lens we use to consider our work. We’re constantly learning from the different perspectives we see from working directly with communities, with the providers of services and the investors in communities. I am Hungarian, born in Romania but raised in Hungary and now living in Ireland for over 15 years. I’ve traveled around the world more than I ever dreamed of. 😊 I studied to be a textile engineer but never worked in my field. Hoping for a better life I came to Ireland. With the challenge of not having native English, building a life (in a new country) came many new experiences and learnings. There were moments when I wanted to give up! But instead, slowly from being a cleaner, I worked myself up to become a Data Analyst and Project manager in the corporate world. Growing and learning has always motivated me, so I have read books, taken courses and started my journey in self-development. Financially I achieved what I was only dreaming of when I set foot in Ireland. I had my house, car, great job (which I enjoyed but didn’t love), supportive friends and my loving family in Hungary. But something was missing.. Specifically with dating and relationships, in life, I’ve had some struggles! I lost all trust in men and completely closed off afterwards. There were difficult times and there were good times. Even when I was independent and content, there was definitely something missing. I hoped to find a partner, someone who I trusted and felt safe with. I wanted to fix ME, to be able to create that fulfilled life I dreamed of with a loving partner. At the time it looked like an endless search and felt that there was no hope. I will never forget when a dating agent told me that he was giving up as even the dating company lost hope in me

Troed y Rhiw is a 23 acre mixed organic farm situated in Ceredigion’s coastal belt, less than two miles from the sea. Established in 2008, it is owned and run by Nathan Richards and Alicia Miller. The farm’s ethos is built around a belief in the necessity of farming sustainably in the 21st century. This means a whole farm holistic approach to food production which starts with the microbial worlds within our soil and encompasses everything from habitat protection and creation, to the role that the farm has within the local community. Along with horticulture production, we also have a small herd of Highland cattle which contribute to the farm’s fertility and provide meat for the family and our customers. We focus on local food, serving our immediate community through a box scheme delivered within thirty miles of the farm, local producer’s markets, and retail outlets such as restaurants and green grocers. Staying local means our food is fresh, mostly picked and sold on the same day, and fresh food is the key to good cooking. The farm supports a range of wildlife. Pipistrelle and Brown Long-eared bats roost in the specially designed bat loft in the roof of our stone dairies. Rabbits, badgers and foxes all live in and around the farm. There is a wide range of bird life living on the farm including Jays, Nuthatches, Blue Tits, Wagtails and other garden birds as well as birds of prey, from Barn Owls and Red Kites to Buzzards which hunt in the surrounding countryside. A Heron regularly visits our pond during the summer months. The farm hosts a colony of bees kept in fourteen hives. A wide variety of butterflies and moths flourish on the farm encouraged by the farm’s diverse habitat and because we don’t use any pesticides.

I started practicing yoga in my early twenties with a vague but niggling sense of wanting to do something to soothe a stiff body and an anxious, overactive mind. I’d always done a lot of sport but considered myself inflexible. I’d never really had any kind of spiritual practice. I remember that first, strange and captivating savasana in the chilly scout’s hut - a door had opened. Yoga has been a portal to discovery ever since. As a teacher, my aim is to guide students in exploring all that their bodies know. I believe that through kind attention and the magic of motion we can start to feel into new areas, release unhelpful patterns and find a greater sense of joy, freedom and connection that ripples into all aspects of our lives. For me, this is the magic of yoga and why I am so passionate about my own practice and sharing it with others. I share embodied, heart-led practices of movement, breath and meditation. I offer a space for you to move without rules and without rushing, a space for self-expression and to feel what is waiting to be felt. Informing my teaching style is an interest in neuroplasticity, heart and body intelligence, functional movement, trauma and mindfulness teachings. You can take a look at some of my inspiration here. I love feeling hot sun on my skin, peanut butter and jam in my porridge, and spotting cute dogs in the park with my partner, Tommy. I completed my 250 hour Yoga Alliance Professionals teacher training with Stretch in 2019, with Carl Faure and Calli Popham. I am also a qualified pre- and post-natal yoga teacher having completed an intensive training with Stretch in 2021.

Find out more here --- RHET SBCI can help you with: Farm Visits Classroom Speakers Resources Projects Events Farm Visits For Primary and Secondary schools RHET SBCI has a number of farms in the area with a network of volunteer farmers and their families who kindly give their time to support RHET. A farm visit can support many areas of the curriculum such as environmental studies, IT and business studies, technology, science, mathematics and enterprise. Visits are provided from Level 1, linked to experiences and outcomes, and compliment DYW, STEM and LfS agendas. We carry out regular risk assessments of all participating farms to the standard recommended in the Health and Safety Executive’s Guidelines on Educational Excursions. Around two weeks prior to the actual visit, the class teacher will visit the farm with our Project Coordinator to meet the farmer, walk the route and check over the risk assessment. Classroom Talks For Nursery, Primary and Secondary schools. We have a network of trained classroom speakers, made up of volunteer farmers from the local area, who can visit your school and bring farming and the countryside to life. Once a booking has been confirmed, the speaker will contact the teacher to discuss the format, content of the session and curriculum links.
