From a young age In Brazil, I received an extensive music education. I studied piano and clarinet and had experience with orchestra and choir. I loved the connection with my teachers, fellow students, and the music itself. Consequently, I studied conducting at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. I decided to deepen my studies in Europe, focusing on early music and voice which led me to live and work in France and Germany for 11 years. I obtained the Diplome d Etudes Musicales at the conservatorium of Strasbourg (France) and a Master of Music from the University of Trossingen (Germany). My studies included vocal technique and interpretation, historically informed practice, harpsichord, and baroque theatre. I was fortunate to study, and work professionally as a vocal coach, choir conductor, and sang with leading European figures and groups, in the world of early music. In 2016, I returned to Brazil and worked on two important projects: Guri and Anima. Guri is a long-standing very influential institution in Sao Paulo, which offers free music education to disadvantaged children. Anima is a renowned musical group with 30 years of intensive research on the musical imagination of Brazil. I was invited as a soloist singer to record its last CD, Mar Anterior which establishes a dialogue between the Afro tradition of Candomble and Portuguese songs composed by the medieval King D. Dinis.

UK China Performing Arts (UKCPA), was founded in London, England in 2017, is a dance academy which specialises in Chinese classical and folk-dance but also provides education for ISTD Ballet, Jazz, Hip-hop, K-pop and Ballroom dance both online and in the studio. As an international artistic exchange platform and performing arts company, we have strong relationships with artists and companies from different countries around the world. We have provided professional performance services and collaborations with theatres, media partners and event organisers such as Lebanon Caracalla Dance Theatre with the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation, Netflix on the high-profile production of The Crown. We have also successfully hosted events, such as exchanges to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Chinese Culture and Arts Festival, Silk road dance festival, masterclasses such as the Chinese Family Day, the Children’s Creative Dance Masterclass, and the Drama Workshop. We are an official UK subsidiary of CFA (Chinese Folk Dance Association), providing teacher and student training using the Chinese Folk Dance syllabus recognised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China. Established by Jenna Walker in 2013, after a number of years teaching in the North Berwick area, Freedom and Form Dance Training provides an opportunity for students to develop their dance technique, build confidence and make friends in a fun, friendly, caring and safe environment. Based at our own premises at The Lighthouse North Berwick, our qualified teaching staff offer a wide range of dance styles for both children and adults of all ages. We believe dance should be fun and some of the disciplines we teach include: Ballet via the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. Modern and Tap by Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabus. Acro Dance following the Acrobatic Arts programme. Street Dance, Musical Theatre and much more. Over the years our students have taken exams to a very high level and we proudly hold a 100% pass rate. Our Studio is well equipped with mirrors and ballet barres for hosting dance classes but is also the perfect space for our highly enjoyable Dance Birthday Parties. However, previously, music had been disallowed as a specialist subject in school. Undeterred, Terry went on to develop her talent and performing style. With no formal training, Terry began her singing and acting career with two of Scotland's top companies; 7:84 Theatre Co. and Wildcat Stage Productions. Both companies being known for their innovative shows, which tackled social and political issues of the time. She hosted her own 6 part television series of chat/music/comedy, for STV, called The Terry Neason Show. She also achieved artistic success touring her shows internationally and picked up the Herald Angel Award at the Edinburgh Fringe. Producing, Selling & Negotiating Her professional journey took her into the business of managing her own company, Wee One Productions, for 15 years; leading a team which produced highly acclaimed shows for Corporate Events and Theatre. London Writing School offers online writing workshops designed to offer some inspiration, make you think about the craft of writing and carve out some time in the day to get pen to paper.  Our paid courses allow you develop an idea at your own pace. Who are the workshops for? Perhaps you want to give writing a go but aren’t sure what will happen. Maybe you used to write and want to get back to it. Or you write, but would like more structured inspiration and a practice session. The sessions are designed so that you can make the most of them whatever stage you're at.  What do we do? We usually have a warm up exercise around the theme of the workshop, do a little bit free writing, and then there’s a chance to build a more structured scene that could go on to become a short story, or even spark an idea for a novel. If you are full of ideas we hope to bring them into sharper focus, if you’re feeling a bit creatively empty we aim to fill you up and get you going again.  Do we share work? In the free sessions we don’t read out work or share it with others. Come and experiment with no judgement. About the teacher I've been shortlisted for various awards and schemes including the BBC Writers’ Room, Crime Writers Association Debut Dagger, Theatre 503 seed commissions and the Launch Pad Manuscript Competition. It’s time to look again at Let the Right One In, the Swedish film from 2008 that perhaps has something to say about 2022. It offers a distinctive take on Bram Stoker’s Dracula story which itself appeared in 1897 at a time of migrations from Eastern Europe. Dracula has proved to be a popular story in both theatre and cinema with many adaptations. 2022 is the centenary of Nosferatu, perhaps the most celebrated film adaptation. The novel Låt den rätte komma in by John Ajvide Lindqvist was published in 2004. The story is set in the early 1980s with heightened tension caused by Russian submarines tracked in Swedish waters. It is a fantasy story but Lindqvist made use of some of his own experiences as a young teenager in developing the narrative. The film adaptation in 2008, directed by Tomas Alfredson, presents an almost social realist Stockholm suburb with a new resident, a girl of 12 named Eli, moving in next door to Oskar, an introverted boy of the same age. The 2008 film became an international hit, celebrated by popular audiences and critics alike and generating a Hollywood remake (not so successful) and several stage adaptations. Tagged a ‘romantic horror’, the film raises questions about ethnicity, gender and migration. There will be plenty to discuss. Let the Right One In is available on BBC iPlayer for the next two months.
