Hall Farm Eastoft has been farmed by the Coulman family for some 150 years or more and over time the land has produced a wide range of arable crops and been home to cattle, pigs, chickens and more recently alpacas. Extending to around 235 hectares (575 acres) of land the farm grow wheat, oilseed rape, sugar beet, potatoes and grass, as well as maintaining an extensive environmental scheme to enhance the natural habitat. It is important to us to farm to the highest environmental, sustainable and welfare standards which means we subscribe to a range of key industry standards and generate much of our energy and resources from sustainable sources. As members of Red Tractor Assurance schemes for both crop production and our pig production, as well as Freedom Food, British Quality Pork and Global Animal Partnership schemes for our pigs, we ensure that all our produce meets high production standards and enters the food chain. We generate all our power from our Solar PV system, powering lights, feed systems, grain driers and our vehicles and use a Biomass boiler to provide heat. In addition, around 90% of our water use is either borehole sourced or from rainwater harvesting ensuring we minimise our use of mains, treated water and rely on naturally produced water. The farm has hosted educational visits for many years, supported by Natural England’s environmental schemes, and has developed this educational support since 2017 into a social farm engaging with young people and adults, empowering them to develop skills to enrich their learning, wellbeing and social life. With our focus on sustainable, environmentally friendly farming coupled with our increasing community of social farmers, here at Hall Farm Eastoft we aim to provide a community farming operation benefiting the environment and the local community.

He took the opportunity to bring Taguchi Methods to a wider audience by joining ASI in 1989 and quickly expanded his training portfolio into QFD and other Continuous Improvement areas. In 1996 he was trained by TRIZ Master Victor Fey and more recently successfully achieved MATRIZ level 3 certification, following extensive coaching by TRIZ Master Sergei Ikovenko. With colleague Ray Greenall they built up a successful Six Sigma training business that was taken over by BSI Management Systems in 2006. Simon left BSI in 2007 to establish SCB Associates Ltd. La Petite Ecole Française (PEF) is an independent French school that follows the French national education system. The school is part of the AEFE (Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger) and enables its students to progress to existing French speaking schools in London. PEF has been awarded French Education Nationale ‘Homologation’ status for all its levels from Petite Section to CM2. The ‘Homologation’ confirms that the school is following the learning methods and objectives of the French curriculum. The school caters for up to 190 children from the age of 3 to 11, after which they progress to schools such as the Lycée Français, Ecole Primaire Jacques Prévert or the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill. There are currently two Petite Section classes, one Moyenne Section class, one Grande Section class, and a double-level MS/GS. In the primary section, there are double-level classes for CP/CE1 and CE2/CM1 and a single-level class for CM2. The classes are intentionally kept small so that each child can be given the special attention they require. La Petite Ecole Française was founded in 1983. At the end of June 2010 the school relocated to 73 Saint Charles Square. The current location is ideal for a nursery school; it is set away from the main road, the playground is large and the classrooms are light and well designed. The school operates from two ground floors and a first floor, which have been extensively refurbished, whilst maintaining a homely feel. Entry is non-selective and we invite those who are interested to make an appointment with the office to visit the school. However, as the school follows the French national education system and the majority of the lessons are in French, the children are expected to be conversant in French (only for Primary levels) prior to joining the school.
