CoCo has a team of staff and volunteers dedicated to building confidence, self-esteem and support positive lifestyle changes in young people via the conduits of education, sport and culture. Our staff have a background in mentoring and life coaching, project management, social inclusion, vocational training, and sports coaching. Our community based values are manifested in our training activities in the classroom, and our team activities which take place in positive open spaces and parks around Brighton and Hove. CoCo works with a variety of local organisations and stakeholders to achieve its goals and deliver its activities. For example, we work directly with youth clubs, Job Centre Plus, and youth/employment networks (Brighton’s Women’s Centre, the Chamber of Commerce, Brighton and Hove Youth Collective, and The Platform) to engage directly with young people that are interested in career planning, job search, our vocational courses, or sport team building activities. We also have close ties with sports clubs such as Hassocks Tennis Club, Preston Park Tennis Club, Pavilion and Avenue Tennis Club, Preston Panthers FC, Withdean FC and Patcham FC. With these clubs we organise team building events, joint sports days and in house training to develop soft and employability skills via sport. Our team has worked with hundreds of young people across Sussex to provide vocational training, mentoring and employability training. Our reach is growing and in 2017 hope to reach even more young people. Specifically, our qualified staff provide VET courses such as City and Guilds Level 1 Principles of Coaching Sport, Level 1-2 Employability Skills and Level 2 Travel and Tourism Destinations. We also provide Coaching and Mentoring Sessions with a qualified life coach, cultural activities and overseas team sports tours in Europe. Our aim is to support young people not in employment, education or training, aged 18-24, early school leavers now long term unemployed, general unemployed young people, and we place special emphasis on the participation of young women and the more socially excluded members of society. We use our links with local colleges, the local authority, community groups and youth networks to support young people into vocational training, improve their confidence and support them into further vocational training, work experience or employment. J and K Training specialise in the delivery of Functional Skills English and maths qualifications predominantly across Tees Valley and County Durham. We have been delivering highly successful programmes for over 13 years with achievement rates in excess of 90%. Our teaching staff are highly experienced and qualified specialists in English and maths. They use their experience and expertise very effectively to engage and motivate learners to make excellent progress and achieve in their learning. We have worked extensively with Jobcentre Plus across the North East for over 9 years and they value the support we provide for their customers in moving them towards employment. Our courses are suitable for those individuals who would like to gain a qualification or update their existing skills. We offer English and maths from Entry Level 1 up to and including Level 2. We work with learners at their own pace, one-to-one or in small groups in local centres. The qualifications can also be delivered on-line. Courses are tailored to meet individual needs and are fully funded subject to eligibility. In October 2020, we commenced delivery of the new Essential Digital Skills qualifications which have been developed to support adults aged 19+ who do not have the basic digital skills that are required for life and work. We provide a wide range of services including specialist support, advice and training to our membership. We also provide and promote information to individuals and organisations on volunteering in the city. Southampton Voluntary Services (SVS) is housed in the voluntary action centre, which is a purpose built resource for the voluntary sector in Southampton. The Voluntary Action Centre’s primary objective is to provide a focal point for voluntary activity in Southampton and is managed by Southampton Voluntary Services (SVS), whose offices are on the first floor of the building. The Voluntary Action Centre is a fully accessible building, which is centrally located in Southampton, Kingsland Square opposite Hoglands Park. It is within walking distance of the city centre and Southampton Central train station.

With 2 children at school and friends with similar aged children I appreciate hugely how vital family meals are in ensuring good health and helping to develop positive food habits for life". Live, Learn, Cook was founded in 2016; aiming to bring the opportunity to be inspired and have fun with food to individuals, groups and communities. With lots of help from family and friends and a few specialist colleagues the offer we make to the community is steadily growing and we look forward to continuing this over the coming years.

From affordable workshop membership for people of all abilities, to courses, events and artists' studios, we like to keep ourselves busy. And on top of that, we're also a small-scale screenprinting company, working with everyone from local creatives to public sector organisations, as well as community groups. Why? Simply put - we love print. And we want others to love it too. Through nurturing up-and-coming talent and supporting seasoned pros, we've created an independent, sustainable and down-to-earth creative community that acts as a bridge between education and industry. Session are structured to allow participants to work individually and in groups, helping them develop as a team, while establishing their own creative voice. I work with each client to identify ambition and desired outcomes for every project. I will then tailor workshop sessions and final presentation to meet the ambitions of the project and the participants needs. We are fighting for a new, holistic, and free format of education. The group formed in July 2020, in the wake of the global Black Lives Matter movement. We are a solution-based group driven to tackle institutional racism and bias. Beginning with a letter to the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Bath, we opened a dialogue about addressing systemic racism and institutional bias. The momentum gained from over 200 signatures and the Department’s support led to the formation of Decolonise Architecture: a group of students and alumni who would work to achieve the objectives set out in the letter. Two years on, our group has grown in influence and now works with faculties across the University of Bath as well as external groups, organisations and universities across the UK towards our aim of bringing change.

Our aim has always been to help support and create a diverse group of people with various needs, provide a safe and calm environment in which each individual can learn and grow. Working in groups as well as supported independent working, our young people are involved with a wide range of fulfilling tasks. Our farm environment encourages animal care, animal enrichment, gardening, crafts, bushcraft and countryside appreciation. Whilst working on the farm, carrying out these activities we have seen wonderful results with young people flourishing. Reduction in anxieties, increased confidence, willingness to interact and becoming a valued team member, taking responsibility, care of others, and an overall increase in positivity to attempt new tasks. Building on life, social skills, and expanding knowledge whilst being outside and close to nature has an amazing and positive effect on so many!
