It’s obvious to us that diversity problems won’t be solved by panel discussions or in echo chambers. And so we designed The Blueprint mark. Its purpose is simple: to help talented Black, Asian, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority pros get the careers they deserve, and to help organisations genuinely committed to diversity to benefit from their talent. In 2018 and 2019 we brought together two genuinely diverse groups to work together to come up with solutions to the PR industry’s diversity problem. They included rising stars and powerhouses with incredible careers. They included in-house pros and agency heads, crisis comms specialists and an award-winning creative. There was a Mum of twins, an ex-soldier, a counsellor and a councillor. A D&I specialist, a healthcare policy expert, a disability campaigner (with great hair!) and a kick-ass HR director. There was a born and bred Mancunian, a Scot, Nigerians, a Jamaican and even someone from the exotic land of Leamington Spa. In mixed groups they were introduced to a number of harrowing case studies based on the experiences of people working in PR and comms and ran through a series of exercises. They leaned into the uncomfortable, they laughed, they listened and they worked. Through those workshops, The Blueprint was born. And those incredible individuals? They serve as advisory board members (meeting three times a year and shaping our work) and consultants (on hand to provide an additional steer). As for day-to-day? The Blueprint is delivered by Blueprinted, a company with purpose led by founder Elizabeth Bananuka and Project Manager Olivia Danso, with the support of NEDS Anouchka Burton and Daljit Bhurji. Profits from The Blueprint are used to support the work of BME PR Pros.

Richmond

As director of Simply First Aid, Piers Osborne has taken on this exciting role after years of preparation. Having started in the leisure industry, working with children and babies, he moved to education where he spent 9 years lecturing on a range of further, higher and community education courses for the Sports, Early Years and Community Studies departments. He left this role to get out of the class room and into informal education through outdoor activities. Almost since it’s inception Piers has been a member of Cornwall Search and Rescue Team helping to prepare it’s medics as the Medical Training Officer. He had the privilege to work with some extraordinary people until a relocation forced him to step down. He was also a member of Metropolitan Caloundra Surf Lifesaving Club and Watergate Bay Surf Lifesaving Club and an active member of the Scout Movement. As well as specialising in outdoor and wilderness first aid he continues to specialise in paediatric first aid and education. Over the years Piers has worked with a number of First Aid training providers, including the Red Cross, Royal Life Saving Society and St John Ambulance, to deliver First Aid and Casualty Care across Europe and Australia. Screenshot 2019-01-22 at 17.53.57.png Dominic Osborne With a background in emergency medical response, security solutions and both pool and beach lifeguarding, Dom was a perfect choice for Simply First Aid! He has over 15 years experience and was responsible for the Metropolitan Caloundra beaches for a number of years. During this time Dom was responsible for the ongoing development of all the beach personnel. As such he wrote and delivered bespoke training solutions and linked training to the Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguards Association scheme. Dom provides our Quality Assurance and continues to deliver training when required. He is as comfortable behind a desk as he is being lowered into shark infested seas from a rescue helicopter! He has long since left the world of lifeguarding behind and now provides both medical and security solutions for mine sites, race meets and the like. Dom has recently been to conferences on the East and West Coasts of America in order to secure opportunities for the ‘Event Medics‘ side of the business. He has competed in the Australian Open Iron Man, his 3rd ever triathlon, and was an elite cyclist. When not training, you’ll find him spending time with his family and ‘staying salty’! Moving and handling doughnuts.jpg Adrian Sevume Kauma Adrian Sevume Kauma (SK) is an eccentric trainer who has a strong passion for first aid. His first experience in doing CPR (on his daughter) has inspired him to teach many people in first aid and he aspires to make a difference in people's lives through the means of first aid. He teaches our portfolio of workplace first aid courses and enjoys delivering our schools programme to large groups. Adrian is known for being an "Awesome trainer" as he enjoys using the word "Awesome" or "Awesomness!" throughout his sessions (He does not know that it is not even a word, so when you see him just humour him). He uses anecdotes, stories and his own experiences in his training to make first aid easy, practical and fun.

St Hild College

We draw our inspiration from the first Christians to share the gospel in Britain and especially St Hild, a trailblazing example of prayer, wisdom and witness (c. 614-680AD). Our college life is geared to help people listen for the Spirit and join the work of the kingdom in their own contexts. We have an expansive view of mission that constantly enlarges our horizons. For us, this means helping to make disciples, grow and plant churches, raise new ministries, pursue transformative justice and seek the flourishing of all creation. PRAYER AND FORMATION We want to help every member of our community grow deep spiritual roots. Our aim is to be like Jesus, becoming disciples in every aspect of our lives as we share the life of God. At the heart of this is prayer. We believe in combining study, service and a deepening life with God, but we recognise that this isn’t easy. Our tutors know what it is like to face the challenges of ministry. We are committed to supporting Christian work that is hopeful, sustainable and fruitful. Formation in Christ is always costly and often surprising; it brings to light our weaknesses. We want to remain open to the profound re-making that comes when we step out on untrodden paths and learn to rely more on the grace of God. FLEXIBLE LEARNING We have an excellent track record for flexible learning. Each of our students has an individual learning pathway put together specifically for their needs. Our learning community is wonderfully diverse – our best learning is often from each other. We work with those new to academic study to build their confidence; we can also provide stretching further study for those looking to teach, write or develop original research. Our teaching faculty have subject specialisms at research and publication level in Biblical Studies, Doctrine, Spirituality, Ethics, Pastoral Care, Leadership and Mission. We are committed to rigorous academic study that deepens and enriches faith. GROWING COMMUNITY We are our students. We unite Anglicans, Baptists and Independent church members in a partnership run in the North, for the North. We bring together a diverse and hospitable community to learn in face to face settings framed by prayer and worship. Our Barnabas Teaching Centre meets on Monday daytimes at STC Sheffield. This includes a monthly Missional Leadership programme of expert speakers on spirituality and leadership followed by Formation Groups that reflect and grow together through the year. Our Mirfield Teaching Centre meets on Wednesday evenings at Mirfield, with access to a beautiful site for study and prayer alongside the Community of the Resurrection. Mirfield also hosts regular events to resource holistic mission in context Deeper Roots, Wider Horizons “The vision of our college is to help you grow deeper roots in Christ and expand your capacity to join God’s work. I believe every member of St Hild is a light that God is sending to our region. Our aim is to equip people for that calling through transformative community life, excellent theological learning and a contagious passion for the kingdom. People often say that coming to visit St Hild helps them view their future more clearly. I hope you’ll take up this invitation to see us for yourself. If you accept a place, we believe you will finish your time with us better able to follow God’s call, wherever that may take you.” Mark Powley, St Hild College Principal
