I am a multi-media artist, working across a range of media, from painting, film, sculpture, and installation. I create mixed-media paintings which incorporate materials such as, heavily textured impasto, pigment powders, straw, textiles, and various found objects. I gained my Post Graduate diploma in Fine Art, and Foundation in Art & Design from the University Arts London, Central Saint Martins, and My BA honours in Fine Art & English Literature from The University of Reading. I also have a PGCE and a fully qualified teacher status in Art & Design. I currently work from my art studio in Perivale, London. As well as being a full time artist, I work as a Therapeutic art coach within an academic setting. I deliver art workshops in various London locations; provide private art classes/coaching from my studio, and I'm an instructor & mindfulness art coach at MasterPeace creative studios in London.

My name is Denise Thompson/Coutu. I’ve been teaching art classes and giving parties for over 10 years. I love working with kids. I’m a mom, and have also had my own daycare. I also come from a family of teachers. I get great satisfaction from seeing my students grow, both in their skill level and their understanding of the arts. I grew up in Hudson, NH and studied mainly in Boston. My educational experience includes a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Tufts University; a Fine Arts Diploma from the Museum School in Boston (5 yrs), and Certificates in Graphic Design and Web Design from schools in Manchester, NH. I have been a graphic design professional for over 18 years. I worked in the art department in MA working with digital files and preparing them for press. I have also worked in the theatre industry in Boston, which was fun and exciting. My other professional skills include scenic painting, oil painting and drawing, sign making, jewelry making, clay work, mosaic making, sewing and cake decorating. I would love to teach anyone who is interested in learning the skills to make beautiful works of art. I’m now offering After School Care Program, Summer Classes, art classes and private birthdays or other party options. Please contact me to discuss dates you’d like to plan an event. Established in 2012 by Jill Martin Boualaxai and Damian Michael Malone, Look and Draw runs a year round program of exciting and innovative art classes and workshops from Wasps Artists Studios near Haymarket and monthly pop up events at The Safari Lounge in Abbeyhill. Look and Draw classes are brought to you by a group of like minded professional artists who are all passionate about the visual arts and about taking the right approach to drawing and painting. The majority of classes are tutored by Jill Martin Boualaxai. Other ad hoc tutors with Look and Draw are Cat Bruce, Sarah Calmus, Lorna Johnson, Oana Stanciu & Matthew Storstein . We provide a structured and supportive teaching environment that aims to inspire and challenge. Step & Praise Company has been built upon Christian beliefs and the desire to use the gift of performing arts as an encouragement and inspiration to others. Our aim is to promote a standard of excellence in dance training and performance for children, youth and adults whilst maintaining a positive and uplifting environment. We desire to see children of all ages participate in the performing arts without having to be exposed to inappropriate themes or language. We hold different styles of performing art classes throughout the year, with dance being the main area of our services. Located in Stratford Atherton Leisure Centre, Step & Praise have formed termly dance classes suitable for children between the ages of 3 – 11 years old. Separated into three age abilities; Tots, Beginners and Intermediates, these classes have been designed to help our students receive an in depth understanding about Street Dance, Hip Hop Dance, Afrobeat, Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Students training with us will get the opportunity to explore dance in a safe environment in addition to having opportunities to perform in theatres across London.

I grew up in Nairn, A lovely town in the North East of Scotland that boasts a stunning beach and sea views over to the Black Isle. I loved art in school and was lucky to have inspirational art teachers in high school. I spent a year at Inverness College getting an art portfolio ready for applying to art school. Art school never did happen and instead I started work full time in a porcelain factory, life then took over and art was put on the back burner for many, many years. My career included working in primary schools and nurseries where the highlight of the job was art classes with the kids! Around 2014 I got my sketch books out again and started dabbling with different mediums. I was introduced to needle felting through a colleague at work, and the rest is history! 8 years on I feel very luck to spend my entire working week making and selling my art, currently from my lovely wee gallery in the heart of the village of Drumnadrochit. I also supply printed versions of my work on a range of home and gift ware to shops all over the country, this helps to get my images seen by a wider audience and in turn brings in commission work. Being creative is something I can’t live without. I feel like a piece of me is missing if I don’t have some project on the go. Art is my passion. If you have a passion, follow it, make the most of your life, be happy and help to make others happy too!

We are an independent art business representing a bespoke number of artists from globally acclaimed art academies around the world.   Established in 2007, the gallery has an excellent reputation as a fine art institution. Our focus has always been on original fine art sales with collaborations and solo shows being held throughout the year. We are shortly to begin art classes leading towards a certificated qualification.  To encourage a one-to-one tutelage, the classes will remain small, i.e. only 4 students per class, duration of the class will be 4 hours. The classes will be taught by trained teachers with an academy background in art.

I studied Art & Design at Stourbridge Art College in the West Midlands for three years, before moving to West Sussex to gain an Art with Related Arts degree at Chichester University. My sculpture work featured nationally on ITV’s morning programme. Exhibitions of my work include West Dean College and Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, West Sussex. I have also had the privilege of exhibiting my work in the Awagami International Miniature Print Exhibition, Tokushima, Japan. Along with exhibitions at; Banks Mill Studios Derby, The Art House Wakefield, neo: Gallery Bolton, Gallery@OXO Oxo Tower Wharf South Bank London, Greenpea press Huntville Alabama, Hong Kong Baptist University Hong Kong and Cube gallery Moscow. After a period focusing on other art disciplines, I returned to printmaking and the joy of the process is what pushes my work forward creatively. Learning different printing methods has helped me to begin experimenting with distinctive approaches to my prints and printing style. I continue to enjoy drawing and working painterly with a variety of mixed media, developing my own instinctive style over many other art disciplines. After gaining my degree I went on to achieve my teaching qualifications, to teach 16+ students. I then gained my Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills (QTLS) professional status, which enables me to teach through all age groups (pre and post 16). I have been teaching Art classes in the West Sussex area for 20 years, both for local Adult Education and Chichester College, along with my own private workshops. I enjoy, and have taught, a wide variety of Arts & Crafts subjects and have an extensive & practical knowledge of many areas of the arts. Currently, I teach subjects as varied as Life Drawing, Watercolour, iPad Painting, Acrylics, Pastels and Chinese Brush Painting. I have also taught Pottery, Weaving, Face Painting and numerous craft classes. I am always striving to learn and pass on new techniques and ideas to my students. I hold a Level 3 NVQ in British Sign Language and am currently studying for my Level 6 NVQ. I also teach in this subject.
