Damian Callan is a practising figurative painter based in Edinburgh. He teaches drawing and painting classes for adults and art classes for children at his studio near Haymarket. In the spring and summer he runs landscape painting courses in and around Edinburgh. He is the author of two books, Paint Like Degas and Paint Like Renoir. His work is exhibited widely in the UK and is held in collections across the world. He has written articles for Artist & Illustrators Magazine and The Artist Magazine and regularly demonstrates drawing and painting techniques at public events in Edinburgh.

Located in Jesmond URC on Burdon Terrace for our Breakfast and After School Clubs, we are just a short walk away from West Jesmond Primary School. In 2020 Little Acorns Clubs underwent a change of ownership and is now flourishing under the leadership of Gemma Park and Donna Albon. The club has gone from strength to strength with the addition of exciting new holiday clubs and a range of new activities for the children to enjoy.

We have been a volunteer run library since 2011 when we were threatened with closure. Thanks to the support of Eco Communities CIC we have remained open with the help of a few of our local residents. We are part of Lewisham Libraries network and provide a full range of library resources in a welcoming, inclusive space for community activities. We regularly host events and offer our spaces for activities or events such as craft workshops for children and adults, book launches, recitals, and readings. Revenues generated from renting help to support our community activities and help us maintain our beautiful building.
