And is completely free to practise it - you do not require any equipment or special settings. Hi, my name is Theya and I prefer to present myself as a mindfulness guide. I prefer to say that I am not teaching you mindfulness, but I am guiding you, as mindfulness is as unique as everybody is. My own journey to become a mindfulness guide My own journey as a mindfulness guide started two years ago when a friend sent me a small picture with colourful circles and the unknown word “IKIGAI” in the middle. It made me think and for the first time fully understand how I would like my professional career to look like and to fit in my whole life. Then a question came: What should I do exactly to fulfil those ideal pictures? At this time I was part time Forest School practitioner in a London primary school, casual outdoor educator at WWT London Wetland centre, volunteer urban gardener and full time mum… My clear inner vision is that being a mindfulness guide is my IKIGAI – the combination of something I love, something the world needs, something that resonates well with my values, skills and personality and possibly something that I can be good in. Mindfulness has changed my own life for good and that is where my inspirations came to share it with others.

Glass blowing courses: Learn to blow glass at Clavering Glassworks, Essex 1 DAY BEGINNER COURSE This one day lesson lasts for six hours and aims to provide an intensive introduction to this most exciting and challenging of craft disciplines. Throughout the lesson, you will learn to gather molten glass from the furnace at a temperature exceeding 1100 degrees and manipulate it with a range of traditional glassmaking tools. You will be taught to apply colour and pattern to the clear glass so that by the end of the lesson, you will have produced a number of items from vessels to paper weights of your own design to take home and treasure. KEY INFORMATION: This glassblowing lesson is aimed at complete beginners, so no previous experience is necessary. Small class sizes - maximum of three students to one instructor so you will get plenty of one-on one instruction. All safety equipment and materials are provided. Please wear sensible, comfortable clothes, preferably layers, so you can remove the outer layer if you get hot; and flat, sturdy shoes. Long hair should be tied back. Complimentary hot and cold drinks will be provided but feel free to bring along drinks, snacks and a packed lunch. Lunch is available at the Lodge nearby. Students for glassblowing courses must be over 18 years of age. Please note that glass vessels and other pieces made during the lesson need to cool slowly in the kiln, so these can be picked up two days later, or alternatively these can be posted for a charge.

In the process of doing that we help train research scientists and at the same time keep Kent based clinicians and their teams up to date with the latest scientific developments. We provide the latest equipment for Kent universities to support the cancer research they carry out. We provide publicity materials for Kent hospitals to explain the importance of watching for and acting on early signs of cancer We sponsor public lectures to help bring people up to date with cancer issues We expect the projects we support to have clear aims and objectives and to have a good chance of achieving an improvement in patient care. You do not need to be experienced to come to our classes as we will guide you every step of the way. Most workshops are designed for beginners and where more experience is required, the workshops are indicated by levels: * Level 1: beginner * Level 2: intermediate * Level 3: advance Our main aim is to encourage creativity, promote confidence and definitely have fun in a relaxed environment in which to learn new skills. We run short 2.5 hours course in Bracknell, Berkshire. Your tutor, Anne is an experienced, fun and enthusiastic. This is our 6th year running our workshops and we love it! Each year we try to offer different workshop themes. This year is no exception! All equipment and materials required for our classes are provided on the day. We try to keep our group small, to give you as much space as possible, this also allows us to be able to help you should you need it.

In 1968 at a meeting of the Parish Council of Aldingbourne it was agreed that there was a definite need to build a modern community centre to serve the village. 12 years later, and at a cost of £100,000,David Purley Aldingbourne Community Centre was completed. It was officially opened on 29th March 1980 by local racing driver David Purley the son of Charles Purley, the founder of LEC Refrigeration. The Centre is built on the playing fields originally managed by the Aldingbourne Sports Council. In 1972 the Sports Council formed the 200 Club to raise money for the project. Concise Construction Ltd of Barnham were given the contract and together with Mr Peter Lovett plans were drawn up. inside-hall-2 Planning permission was first granted in 1977 but was revised in 1978. With grants from the Department of the Environment, West Sussex County Council, Arun District Council the Association were all set to begin work. But it was not to be as straightforward as that. Problems arose concerning an access road and time ticked by. With the knowledge that if work didn’t start on site by a certain time they would lose their grants, the association pressed to reach an agreement. inside-bar-1 Eventually, in March 1979 an agreement was signed and work started immediately. The delay however, had cost the Association money. The original quote of £72,000 for the construction of the building no longer applied and the new cost was set up as £93,931.38p. By the time internal fittings, alarms and other equipment had been fitted the centre cost £100,000.

UBUC was established during the 1960/61 academic year. Considering that scuba gear was invented in 1943 by Jacques Cousteau, much has changed in 50 years! The club ranges from new trainees to seasoned divers whose expertise is vital to the smooth running of UBUC. One of our main goals is to provide affordable scuba diving training. Every year we train around 30 divers and provide a number of internationally recognised qualifications from beginner to advanced diver levels. We are affiliated to the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), and therefore issue qualifications according to BSAC standards. Over the last few years, we have gained a number of BSAC awards recognising our achievements in training. The club is overseen by 10 committee members. However, being such an active club means we rely on help from everyone to organise trips, help with equipment maintenance and assist with training. We especially encourage aspiring Dive Leaders to organise their own trips. We are also a friendly and sociable bunch! Our dedicated Social Secretaries runs most of our social events, including diving talks, boat pub crawls, trips, and much more! Anyone, however, can organise an event. BSAC Affiliation UBUC is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club. We are branch number 9160. Scuba Diving Training We offer extensive training for SCUBA diving, anywhere from beginner to advanced diver levels. We teach using the standards of our diving agency BSAC. In addition, we run Skills Development Courses (SDCs), Instructor Qualifications and also the occasional Freediving course.
