Here at Cedar Pottery, I will guide you through the various techniques in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Hand building, throwing on the wheel, sculpturing can all be tried. Glazing can be fun too and I will help you to understand this interesting part of the art of pottery. You are more than welcome to visit the studio to find out more about the environment you will be working in, the classes available and have a chat about what you want to achieve. There are six places per pottery course meaning we can tailor the classes to suit you, your level of skill and your creativity! It doesn’t matter how much potting experience you have – total beginner or happy hobby potter. I can offer one-to-one time to tutor each individual, and so the making schedule can be flexible. I am a thrower, but can also tutor in hand building and sculpture work and will take you through the various techniques needed to throw good pots. Currently I have two electric wheels. We run 2 hour taster courses, 1/2 day and one-day courses and for those who want to really develop their skill, then we have a 8 week intensive course.

As a traditional goldsmith with over 20 years of experience, Jasmin’s passion for jewellery design never faded. In Jasmin´s words: As a child I always wanted to become a true renaissance man or, in my case, woman. I dreamed of being a painter, sculptor and innovator living a life solving the mysteries of the world like Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo. So I became a goldsmith, learning the ancient art of working with precious metals and intriguing gemstones. During my years in the jewellery business I had the wonderful opportunity to work with renowned jewellery artists, like Wendy Ramshaw, Jacqueline Mina and others to design high-end collections and to make jewellery in every metal I could possibly lay my hands on (palladium and niobium are still amongst my favourites). Ultimately, I discovered my passion for teaching. Through my association with one of the most prestigious jewellery schools in the world (GIA) I have inspired hundreds of students in such far-flung locations as Thailand, Italy and California. With my many classes, I have combined the intricacies of jewellery design with the elements of technology, using the latest CAD/CAM developments, whilst sharing both my joy and undiminished affection for an industry that I have been involved with for all my working life. Today, I still do what I love. I run my own jewellery business, Jaqc Jewellery and Jaqc Jewellery Academy, offer design consultancy, and illustrate jewellery for a variety of companies. I am a qualified school teacher my specialist subject is physical education (PE) I'm also a martial arts instructor and I started training in Taekwondo in 1986 at Panther Taekwondo, I gained my black belt in 1990 and wanted a new challenge, so I started going on different coaching courses to increase my coaching knowledge. While studying for my teaching degree I joined an organisation called Teachsport. With Teachsport, I went on to develop a school's martial arts program which involves going into primary schools and teaching children taekwondo and fitness. Once I graduated from University, I decided to introduce martial arts as a PE option to our Teachsport programme to help children with their coordination and confidence. We now run numerous after- school clubs throughout London and the south east, covering a range of different sports. I have recently gained the status of vice president at Panther Taekwondo and Song Moo Kwan England my duties include safeguarding and wellbeing of students and instructors. I now work in schools in Haringey, Lewisham and Redbridge teaching PE and supporting teachers in how to deliver good to outstanding PE.
