The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) is the probably the oldest independent membership-led professional body for global clinical researchers. For over 40 years, The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) has provided high quality training, networking and support to the clinical research community. For many Members the Institute has been part of their life throughout their working careers, many have been with the Institute since its first incarnation as the ACRPI. It is the membership that makes the Institute. How does it all work ? The Institute of Clinical Research is you, the Membership governed by the Articles of Memorandum drawn up by the founding members. The Board is made up of members who give their time freely to guide the future direction of the ICR. The ICR Secretariat is the administrative arm of the Institute, its primary focus is to ensure that the wishes of the Board and Membership are carried out and to see to the day to day tasks that any membership organisation generates. Our Mission The ICR exists to support our members through all stages of their careers. The charity started in 1987 when Peter Mumford, then Bishop of Truro recognised the need to find a positive way to engage disadvantaged young people, to ensure they unlocked their potential. Soon after, The Bishops Forum was created and the charity was founded with Goodygrane Activity Centre growing from abandoned granite quarries overlooking Falmouth bay. One of the earliest memories was of a child abseiling down a rock face in a wheelchair, being watched by a young person who’d been excluded from school. That person went on to be an instructor and today, we continue to see Cornwall’s most vulnerable children realise their own potential. Our outdoor education centre now supports ~4,000 children and young people a year through charity programmes, tailored school residentials and NCS. Our mission is to support children and young people on a journey of positive change. We give them the tools to identify and overcome their own challenges, and give them an overall sense of empowerment. We are passionate about enabling them to overcome barriers to education, work and social interaction. We provide: Charity programmes that support those facing life’s toughest challenges. Robyn is a Bristol-based director, teacher and performer. With over 20 years experience she is a passionate practitioner of clowning, physical theatre, circus and street arts. She has a MA in Circus Directing, a Diploma of Physical Theatre Practice and trained with a long line of inspiring teachers including Holly Stoppit, Peta Lily, Giovanni Fusetti, Jon Davison, Zuma Puma and Deanna Fleysha. Robyn has collaborated with companies including Let’s Circus, The Sexual Health Circus and Whispering Wood Folk and performed with acclaimed physical theatre companies including, Derevo, Akhe, Oceanallover, and Gappad as well as her own award-winning company, Fun in the Oven Theatre. During the pandemic in 2020, Robyn set up The Online Clown Academy with Holly Stoppit and developed a series of Zoom Clown Courses. Robyn’s research, started during her Masters, has been exploring the meeting point of clowning and activism, online, in the real world and with international collaborators. With this drive to explore political edges of her work she has also dived back into the world of the Bouffon; training with Jaime Mears, Bim Mason, Nathaniel Justiniano, Eric Davis, Tim Licata, Al Seed and the grand master Bouffon-himself; Philippe Gaulier. She has also set up the Laboratory of the Un-beautiful; a collaboration with Deborah Antoinette Bard, exploring the bouffon & grotesque with womxn theatre makers.

Our Mission To enable a digital economy supported by a more reliable, efficient, and environmentally sustainable digital infrastructure. Our Story In 2003, as applications started increasing in complexity and size, the team initially addressed challenges in Software Architecture reliability and efficiency, setting some of the earlier groundwork around Architecture design languages and software product lines. The focus then quickly shifted to a more holistic approach from the ground up addressing the reliability, efficiency, and environmental sustainability of digital services, from data centres to IT Operations and application design. This led to the establishment of the London Technology Academy (LTA) in 2013. The team laid out some key scientific work around cost-effective deployments in the Cloud and environmental sustainability challenges in software and physical infrastructure. Today, LTA is home to some of the key international authorities in digital infrastructure. The LTA team supported the creation of some of the best practices and global standards and policies on digital infrastructure (e.g EN50600, EU Code of Conduct, EMAS, EcoDesign and EU Green Public Procurement to name a few). The team supports governments and corporates globally to transform their digital footprint to a more reliable, efficient and environmentally sustainable state. The LTA team led European initiatives like EURECA and PEDCA that saw broad transformation and consolidation of government infrastructure and the training of well over a thousand ICT professionals.

At EarthCraftuk we have over 12 years experience delivering a variety of nature based programmes including: Forest School Leader Training, Woodland Skills Continued Professional Development Workshops, school visits, youth accredited engagement programmes and experiential Forest School programmes; witnessing first-hand the transformational effects experiences in the natural world can have on the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all participants, and the fulfilling career paths it can often open up for adult participants. At a time when we on average spend 90% of our time indoors, our work at Earthcraftuk is driven by the evidenced impact of being in nature. Green spaces promote physical activity, social interaction, exposure to sunlight and reduced pollution, which all boost health in various ways, including reduced levels of stress and anxiety, aided sleep and a feeling of connectedness with the world, and one another. We have trained over 400 participants on Forest School qualification programmes; worked with a number of community groups; supported school and youth experiential and accredited programmes and also developed a Campfire Management Award for Kent County Council and now also working with Veterans on our Health & Wellbeing programme called Veteran Trees We are very grateful to use stunning private woodland owned by the Dawes family of Mount Ephraim Gardens – a philanthropic family who support our mission.

Like thousands of parents across the UK, mother of three, Reedah El-Saie was frustrated with an antiquated education system originally designed post industrial revolution to prepare children for factory work. She had witnessed how exams and revision had caused her children stress and anxiety, resulting in them losing their love of learning. As a family of diverse heritage Reedah hoped for a more inclusive curriculum both in terms of content and delivery. In winter 2018, whilst preparing her son for 11+, Reedah came across Fortnite often played during revision breaks. She noticed how the 3D open world, multi-player, action game appealed to children across the world. She imagined an educational game through a 3D open world, including diverse characters and stories, fully aligned with the UK national curriculum and 11+/13+ entrance exams, enabling learning through play. After extensive but fruitless research for a pre-existing educational mobile games app aligned with the UK national curriculum, Reedah founded Brainspark Games (previously Xplorealms). Her vision was to create a 3D open world, celebrating diverse characters, using immersive technology to engage wider audiences as well as BAME, vulnerable and neurodiverse. She researched the curriculum pedagogy, twenty-first century skills movement and flip schools and held workshops and interviewed children, parents and teachers to ensure user-led games!
