Hi I’m Susan, welcome to my website and classes. With 30 years experience teaching various types of fitness classes, I specialise in Fitness Pilates, fitness yoga and resistance training classes. I love welcoming new people to our classes and also totally appreciate that many of you have worked out with us for many, many years, thank you, I appreciate your continued commitment and loyalty. I’m supportive, enthusiastic, encouraging, experienced and care that you achieve your best in each unique workout to the best of your ability. With commitment, you’ll see improvement and results and have fun along the way with us too. I’ll demonstrate and encourage you to take easier or more challenging options and variations of exercises and stretches so that you can get the best out of each workout and session. Each class is unique and fresh and I know we’re all unique, individual and have different abilities when it comes to our fitness, health and lifestyles. When you join us, you’ll be encouraged to ease into exercise for a while (if you’re a beginner) then build on strength, flexibility, fitness and confidence and I’m sure you’ll see a difference in just a few short weeks. Welcome to Kemp Pilates! I've been teaching Pilates since 2005 and practising it long before. I love how it enables you to create freer movement and get out of pain. It works the whole body from the inside out to create a lengthened body, stabilises the joints, and maintains balance, strength and flexibility. I'm an experienced Pilates teacher, having worked with lots of different bodies. Pilates is perfect for recovering from injury or managing and improving on-going conditions. I'm particularly experienced in working with clients with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's and stroke. I also work with clients with arthritis, osteoporosis, hyper-mobility, scoliosis, slipped discs and more. As a mum of 4 children I know how Pilates can be invaluable in supporting you mentally and physically. I can liaise with medical practitioners for an integrated approach. I offer 1:1 (£50), 2:1(£60) and small group classes (£12pp) from my home studio in East Sussex, in person, or virtually via Zoom or Skype, and out in the forest at Bedgebury Pinetum. I'm also a fully qualified teacher of The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method comprising facial exercise, relaxation, facial massage, acupressure and wellbeing. Tom says: “I developed the Anatomy Trains during the 1990’s, as a game for students to play when I was teaching Fascial Anatomy at the Rolf Institute. I was inspired by Ida Rolf, and have been practicing the deep fascial work I learned from her since 1976. “But when I came to try to teach, all the books you can find put forward the ‘single-muscle’ theory. Ida Rolf kept saying, “It’s all connected through the fascia.” Other than invoking the image of a grapefruit or a loofah, how do you make this real? How do you get ‘actionable intelligence’ on the functioning of the whole musculoskeletal system? “Just as an exercise to cement the students’ knowledge, I began stringing the muscles together through the fascia. This idea was initiated when Dr Jim Oschman gave me an article by Raymond Dart (the anthropologist and Alexander Technique student) linking the muscle in the trunk in a double-spiral arrangement (which shows up here as part of the Spiral Line). “My reaction was, “Why stop there?” From this base, I expanded Dart’s idea to the whole body, to help students see connections by stringing muscles together. The ‘rules’ are that the connections have to follow the grain in the fascial fabric in more or less a straight line, without breaks or changing levels.

Swimming has always been a part of my life. My mum was a swimming teacher so taught me from a very young age. She also introduced me to the open water side over a decade ago and I was instantly hooked. I love everything about being in the open water; from seeking out quick dips in beautiful wild places, to pushing my limits over distance or in races, to swapping stories over steaming mugs of post-swim hot chocolate. I also love triathlon and have been lucky enough to stand on the podium a number of times as well as competing in five age group World Championship races, with a best place finish of 4th. I’m an STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coach and Swimming Teacher, a Mountain Leader, and an RLSS Beach Lifeguard. I also have degrees in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience and Translational Neuroscience, and a keen interest in performance psychology and exercise for mental health and rehabilitation. I set up Swim Snowdonia to reflect my personal values and passion for all aspects of swimming. To showcase the many incredible and diverse wild swimming locations in North Wales. To provide a safe, supportive and fun environment for swimmers to improve their confidence and proficiency. Welcome to Zumba® Fitness Cheadle Hulme and Poynton, fun classes to learn Zumba®, meet new people, lose weight, get fit, tone up and all whilst having a great time! I have danced all my life, qualifying to teach Ballet, Tap and Modern with the N.A.T.D. However, through traveling, I never got the opportunity to settle down and set up my own dance studio. Nevertheless, I always found a local dance class and joined in. As time passed, sadly I have found there are less dance classes available for adults. Then I joined Anne Hill's Zumba® Fitness class and found a dance based exercise I loved! I enjoyed it so much, the music, the easy to follow steps (and with the encouragement of Anne), I decided to join the ZIN™ party and now I am B1, Pro Skills and Zumba® Gold qualified instructor. ZIN™. Further qualifications in the pipeline. I run 5 classes a week: 3 (at The Methodist Church, Ramillies Avenue, Cheadle Hulme) Tuesdays Zumba® Fitness at 10:00am and 6:15pm and Thursdays (Zumba Gold®) mornings at 10:00am. 1 class (Civic Hall, Park Lane, Poynton) Tuesdays (Zumba Gold®) at 11:30am 1 class (the Hockley Centre, 307 Park Road, Poynton) Wednesdays (Zumba Gold®) at 10:00am. CNG has decided to organise Lunch Club to entertain the elderly with traditional Iranian music and board games allowing them to interact with many others. We also supply them with Iranian cuisine. READ MORE Education For CNG the education of our youth and future generation is very important. CNG has a supplementary school where it focuses on teaching Farsi. The students are able to attend the extra-curriculum activities which take place after Farsi lesson. This includes Maths & English to enrich and support the students also Art, Crafts & Dance. READ MORE Support Due to covid-19 pandemic there has been a huge demand among the elderly, disabled and low-income clients for living essentials. CNG has been able to hand out food and supplies to many people. These people were not able to leave their homes for months due to the fright of COVID-19 and we believed it was our duty to help them.

We were so proud when we opened the first pilates equipment studio, not only in Chorlton, but the only Pilates Studio in Manchester back in 2009. Although Pilates started to really take off in the UK around 15 years ago, the traditional Pilates studio complete with its unique Pilates equipment has taken much longer to make an impact in the North of England. But matwork is only scratching the surface of the full Pilates experience, to really get the full system as Joseph intended you need to come and visit us in our small Chorlton studio where we work (and play!) on the full system. Joseph Pilates designed the equipment himself and his exercises for the mat have evolved from the reformer and the other big pieces of equipment such as the cadillac, chair and barrel. Once you experience the studio equipment for yourself you begin to understand more fully how to get the most out of each exercise and you can then apply that to your mat work. For example in a mat class I often say “imagine that you have spring attached to your arms” – on the reformer and the cadillac you are holding onto those springs! By using the springs for resistance throughout the session you will feel the whole of your body working and really challenge yourself. The use of springs doesn’t just act to make exercises harder, it also can support you and is especially beneficial when trying to master rolling work.

Let me tell you a bit about my experience and my approach to languages. I started learning foreign languages as a child and have been teaching them for more than twenty years; this has helped me see both ends of the process, as a learner and as a tutor. Over the years I experienced and witnessed those cycles of -unrealistic expectations, peaks of enthusiasm and, frequent frustration, which we all go through when learning a language. That got me thinking... Are languages too difficult? What are the learners' challenges? Is the teacher's method and approach relevant? So, after seeing people struggle, sometimes give up, and other times persevere and succeed, I decided to use my experience, i.e. what had worked in my teaching and in my learning and I founded LIVE TO LEARN LANGUAGES, where I create a space for all to harvest the emotional, cultural and intellectual rewards of learning a second language. Tutors who join our team us must all share the same passion and human qualities: dedication, patience and creativity; the latter being essential to explain grammar and develop activities that will exercise students' memory muscle enthusiastically. Together we promote not only language acquisition but also the culture where they come from, as this makes the process of learning far more engaging. We are a versatile team of teachers who work together and under the same criteria, putting in our biggest efforts to make your language learning a fulfilling and pleasurable experience.
