Kent Tigers Basketball Club

kent tigers basketball club

Dartford

The Kent Tigers Basketball Club was founded in 2021 by Sten Mayunga. The club began its journey in Division 3 of the local league, quickly establishing itself as a formidable force in the region. The inception of the club was driven by a desire to create a community-focused and elite basketball club within the Kent region. In 2022, the club expanded its program with the launch of its juniors program. This program offers structured basketball training and competitive opportunities for boys and girls from under-12 to under-18 levels. The same year, Kent Tigers entered into a significant partnership with the Universities at Medway. This collaboration aimed at taking control over the basketball program at the Medway University campus, enhancing opportunities for university students to engage in high-level basketball. In its inaugural season, the Men’s senior team showcased exceptional performance by going unbeaten in the League and clinching both the Medway Basketball Association D3 title and the Nobby Crouch Plate with a decisive 93-41 win over Iroquois. Kent Tigers is committed to providing a complete player pathway, a vision championed by General Manager Sten Mayunga. The club operates in Dartford and other areas within Kent, catering to various abilities and genders. In addition, Kent Tigers has formed a partnership with Little Hoopers [https://littlehoopers.org.uk/], a child-friendly basketball program known for its innovative approach to introducing basketball to young children. Little Hoopers’ programs, designed for children as young as three years old, focuses on creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for young children. This partnership enriches the club’s structure, extending its pathway to include foundational basketball experiences for toddlers and preschoolers, fostering early engagement with the sport. As a community-driven club, Kent Tigers has emphasised creating opportunities for local engagement and sports development. Their partnership with the Universities at Medway and Little Hoopers is a testament to their commitment to fostering basketball at the grassroots and university levels, ensuring a sustainable and inclusive growth of the sport in the region. This approach led them to win the Basketball England South East community club of the year in 2022.

Step Into Learning

Launceston

V Learning Network is a charitable company originally set up in 2001 as the lead of a consortium created to deliver adult and young people mainstream funded education. The consortium was made up of independent training providers in the Third Sector throughout Devon and Cornwall. In August 2021, due to some changes in funding, the nature and focus of the company shifted slightly. We are used to working in a proactive and agile way so have been able to adapt, evolve and innovate, and continue to do so. To fit the growing needs of the business and to strengthen our brand identity, we have changed the company name to V Learning Network trading as Step into Learning – Step Into Learning will be the sole, public facing name used across all our touchpoints going forwards. We still offer young people mainstream funded education and we currently work with three charities and Community Interest Groups (The Outdoor Place, Transferable Skills Training, Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change), enabling them to deliver high quality training by providing sustainable funding. The funding allows our partners to offer a range of training opportunities and deliver quality programmes within Cornwall. Step Into Learning also delivers quality, in-house training, projects and services via its own training division. Step Into Learning is based in Launceston, Cornwall, however, our reach extends much further. We offer training across Devon and Cornwall and have the scope to cover any geographical location due to our flexible delivery – face to face, blended learning (mix of face to face and online) and online. Step Into Learning specialise in working with learners looking to open up new career pathways, or those looking to get back into work. We are committed to giving back to our local community: * SILC is our counselling service providing free, confidential counselling for the Launceston community. * Our community larder for Launceston opened in May 2022. The focus of the community larder is reducing food waste and giving local people access to nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste.

Spd Tuition And Coaching

London

Hello! I am Samantha Dholakia, the founder of SPD Tuition and Coaching and creator of The Behaviour Balance System© (TBBS) and The Behaviour Bank© (TBB). I am an Executive Coach and mentor, Neurolinguistic Programmer and Consultant Trainer. With over 15 years experience in the education sector, I have worked in multiple managerial and leadership roles, including deputy head, RMT consultant trainer, educational consultant and accredited CPD creation for companies such as Twinkle and TTS. I am the host of @spdtuitionandcoaching which supports thousands of parents and teachers daily with behaviour strategies and wellbeing support, and in 2020 I set up our SPD children’s Confidence and Communications Coaching Programme, of which I could not be prouder. Not only have we had great results in the social, emotional and behaviour impact, but also academic achievement. Some of the children in our programmes make over 1 year’s academic progress in less than 12 weeks. It was in fact the children that encouraged me to support with the adults around them, and I am so pleased that I listened to their wise words. The Behaviour Balance System I created TBBS in 2021 to support the desperate need for an alternative approach to behaviour, providing strategies that not only create sustainable change but aid wellbeing, support good mental health, build confidence and resilience - and also accelerates academic achievement. With every technique and tool backed by the neuroscience behind behaviour, our TBBS strategies not only make sense, they WORK. We now support schools, nurseries, universities, Local Authorities, charities and a whole host of other providers globally through our training, workshops and 360 online portal, TBB. Underpinned by three elements, physiology, belief and communication, TBBS is an alternative approach to traditional behaviour systems. An inclusive, revolutionary behaviour programme that supports behaviour through working with children’s needs not outcomes, it is a research led approach that removes external rewards and punitive punishments whilst prioritising emotional intelligence and literacy to empowerment through independence and intrinsic motivation. Our mission is to equip educators, providers and parents with strategies THAT WORK. TBBS removes the behaviour firefighting and power struggles, through promoting a healthy and collaborative culture in homes, classrooms and various other environments. Within TBBS we have brought together several core pedagogies, including trauma informed approaches, restorative practice, emotional regulation and many more. TBBS focuses on teaching children about their brains and how to use them most effectively. Through TBBS educators, providers, parents and carers can empower children in regulating their emotions more independently. The Behaviour Bank TBB is THE ONLY 360 online platform, in the world, that bridges home and school with a collective approach. This platform allows us to support parents, educators and providers that may not feel confident in reaching out directly. It allows provides a platform for ongoing support through a variety of delivery methods. TBB takes our members on a personalised journey full of downloadable handbooks, resources, short courses, live workshops and bitesize clips. It also offers connection through its community page, which enables members to share experiences, tips and celebrate their wins together.  The Behaviour Bank supports educators, providers and parents in saving time and energy for their WHY as the invest in their HOW www.spdtuitionandcoaching.co.uk

Strength and Soul

We believe you can recover from your injury or illness despite being told otherwise. We believe when your pain is gone, you have a future full of possibility. WHY? BECAUSE WE’VE DONE IT OURSELVES BUT – It takes more than regular exercise and clean eating to be truly healthy. Taking charge of your health and lifestyle means making changes, some changes may be permanent, others are temporary. Ayurveda has a great phrase ‘like attracts like and opposites balance’ when we do too much of one thing it can lead us down the path of disease, introduce the opposite (often the things we don’t want to do) and we create balance and true health. I’m not here to count calories, make you run every day and guarantee you a six-pack. I am here to focus on your health. I won’t focus on the physical appearance but investigate what’s going on under the skin, the parts you don’t see. I investigate how your digestive system is functioning for your body to absorb the nutrients from your food and build your tissues. I look at the root cause and uncover those symptoms that may have been around for so long that it becomes normal. JOANN BUCHAN – Ayurveda Practitioner, yoga teacher, therapist. Fractured her coccyx in primary school, had hip surgery at the age of 30, lost her Mum to cancer at the age of 18 and dealt with stress, hair loss and hormone imbalances choosing the route of Ayurveda and yoga to overcome these naturally and have daily tools to cope. KEVIN BUCHAN- Injury-prone retired Rugby player, who has injured pretty much everything from head to toe. After retiring from sport, he suffered depression and a loss of identity alongside the pain that various injuries bring. Kev uses his experience in sport, injury and multiple modalities to give you the best chance of recovery. You can find more about Kev over here at RAPTOR. ARE YOU READY TO DO WHAT IT TAKES? You’re in the right place. I believe a truly healthy lifestyle should be sustainable. It shouldn’t be something you ‘get back into’ or ‘start’ it’s part of your every day, it’s part of you. JOANN BUCHAN Wife, Boss, Nature Lover Favourite Quote “Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live” The truth is . . . There is no one size fits or all quick fix; YOU ARE UNIQUE and have your own unique story. Your diet and lifestyle should reflect that. Are you? In physical pain – hip, lower back, joint pain? Are you doing what you perceive to be all the right things but still not feeling your best? Confused about what you should be eating? Always taking the latest supplement or health food? Overworking, over-exercising or overeating? Signs are showing up – digestive symptoms, hormonal imbalances, tiredness You’re in the right place. I’ve been there, feeling like I was making changes and doing everything I was supposed to be doing, but something was missing, I felt alone, unhappy and in pain. I had surgery on my hip at the age of 30 and expected everything to be perfect after that. Surgery would be the answer to all my pain. I was entirely unprepared for the length of the recovery, mental struggle and frustrations of not being able to do what I had previously done. I still felt so exhausted and still in pain. I discovered something unique; How often have you said, “I’m getting there”? Where are you going? There is no there. You are already there, whatever that step of the journey is for you. There will always be a next step and a next step, a different season of the environment or season in our lives. We will always need to learn to adapt, change, and grow. It’s in our nature as humans to grow and evolve. I’ve been around the world, learning from some of the most innovative thinkers, teachers and healers. Soaking up their wisdom and applying it to my injuries and imbalances as well as helping my clients. I’ve worked in my private practice for seven years as well as delivering programs in schools, corporate, taught workshops. Connect Education Resources

Coconut Thinking is an advisory that supports schools and learning organizations nurture ecosystems grounded in relationships that contribute to the thriving of the bio-collective—any living thing that has an interest in the healthfulness of the planet. We help you create, develop, stress test, and implement their ideas for sustainable and regenerative learning design. In other words, we work alongside you to shift your learning ecosystem, and the experiences within it, toward life-affirming practices. This might include: designing and leading workshops; creating and implementing professional development initiatives; serving as a critical friend on projects, initiatives, and plans; collaborating on endeavors that liberate learning; bouncing ideas about what might just be possible; and anything else that takes us toward more regenerative ways of becoming. We also connect schools with practitioners, artists, and industry experts to create collaborative spaces that respond to contextual challenges: learning together through contribution to the bio-collective, shoulder to shoulder across generations. What happens when we prioritize relationships among all living things? We believe learning is more than a twelve-year individual journey in educational institutions, more than something that can be measured, standardized, sorted, and labeled. We believe in learning for and as the bio-collective, recognizing that we are interconnected and that nothing exists in isolation. We don’t want to overthrow the system, we want to work with those who can imagine something else is possible. We ask ourselves one guiding question: How do our responses contribute to the thriving of the bio-collective? In our view, learning is not an end in itself. Learning is a process that happens when one experience changes behavior in a subsequent experience, behavior that is expressed in the form of responses to our dynamic contexts. Learning is like potential energy that is converted to kinetic energy through these responses. We believe that this energy should be used to contribute to the thriving of the bio-collective.
