Kay Carter Studio is a dedicated homeware design studio based on the North East Coast of England and was established in 2020 by myself, Kay. We handcraft high quality, functioning accessories for your home and work space. All of our homewares are made entirely by hand, producing one of a kind pieces every time. Made with a natural gypsum mineral and a water based compound, our products are sustainable, durable and a lightweight alternative to other casting materials like concrete or fibre glass. We produce a wide range of homewares in eye catching and colourful terrazzo and marbled designs. Specialising in colour customisation, we give you the opportunity to create unique items for your space or special gifts for loved ones. We also design and develop branded and bespoke products for our wholesale customers and collaborative partners. With a love for all things gold, you will find this common feature throughout. With everything that we create, we have a strong focus and commitment to being a sustainable business. For over 120 years, MRS Training & Rescue (formerly known as Mines Rescue Service), has developed specialist skills, experience and knowledge gained from working in difficult and potentially dangerous environments, to effect the rescue and escape of mine workers from underground. However, given the gradual decline of the coal mines over many years, culminating in the closure of the last deep coal mine in December 2015, we have been able to expand and diversify to meet the needs of today’s health and safety market. We have been able to secure long term success by leveraging our expertise, and have branched out from underground mining into providing unique rescue services, specialist equipment (some of which has been designed using practical expertise gathered on the job), consultancy and a comprehensive range of accredited health and safety related products, training and services to a wide range of industries, including nuclear, aerospace, manufacturing and utilities. Training and assessing customers' employees to safely enter, work and exit from confined spaces, is offered at all of our eight training centres, and can also be delivered at customers’ premises by using our mobile rigs. We have been involved with industry in developing the National Occupational Standards, and all the confined space suite of qualifications awarded by City & Guilds are available at our accredited training centres. We have also developed bespoke courses for specific industries such as the water industry.

Kathy King is a Science and Psychology specialist who has worked with a variety of vulnerable groups including young people with special educational needs, including social, emotional and behavioural problems, and the homeless. She is passionate about showing others the power of being active in nature and using outdoor activities as a tool to improve wellbeing. Her research has proven that participation in a 6-week Forest School programme can increase attendance and reduce exclusion rates from mainstream school. Applying the fundamentals of the holistic Forest School approach in all that she does, Kathy believes this can create positive changes in behaviour. Kathy made a life-changing decision to leave teaching and enrol on an outdoor instructor programme after experiencing high levels of work-related stress and anxiety. The 2-day a week course provided an opportunity to master new skills and focus on what she considered to be most important in life. It was on the water that the idea for the Wild Camp Training Programme was born. This is a project aimed at young women who are currently out of education, employment and/or training (N.E.E.T) and is designed to empower and increase physical and mental health. Since then, the charity has evolved to deliver after school clubs, forest school sessions, holiday clubs, 1-1 outdoor activity sessions and group days out.

Saturn is a canal “Fly Boat” (express delivery boat), built by the Shropshire Union Railways & Canal Company in 1906. She has been restored to her original working condition and is now both an outdoor classroom for schools and an 'eye-opening' historical experience for adults. Saturn's history is fascinating - & you could be part of her future! Fly-Boats Fly-boats operated regular schedules running 24 hours. More about Fly-boats Canal Life Boat peoples' lives were hard and very different to ours. More about Canal Life Horse Boating Horses could pull 50 times as much cargo on water. More about Horseboating Saturn - a concise history Saturn was built 1906 in Chester for the Shropshire Union Railways & Canal Company. Entirely wooden construction – oak sides, elm bottoms. Horse-drawn she would usually carry between 12 and 16 tons Worked on the Llangollen Canal in the early 20th century Only surviving Shropshire Union fly-boat in original condition Saturn specialised in carrying cheese from Cheshire and North Shropshire to Manchester Saturn remained a horse-drawn cargo boat into the 1950s, by then working around the Wolverhampton area Mid 1950s to 1980s she was converted to work as a hotel boat Fully restored in 2005. Conwy

The North Wales Cruising Club was founded in 1928 for yachtsmen and boat owners who enjoy sailing to the beautiful anchorages and marinas of Anglesey and the Irish Sea. On the water events are arranged throughout the year, including weekend trips to the Menai Strait and around Anglesey as well as longer trips which take advantage of the expansive sailing area to the Isle of Man, Ireland and the West Coast of Scotland. We offer classroom and online RYA training courses at very competitive rates which are cheaper than many of the sailing schools in the area. The Club has its own launch for ferrying members, crew and visitors to and from boats on Conwy River swinging moorings, pontoons, and the marinas at Conwy and Deganwy.
