Corby And District Sub-Aqua Club (CADSAC) was formed in 1979. We are a member of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) – the worlds largest scuba diving club, and are based in Corby, Northamptonshire. With members coming from not only Corby but all the surrounding towns and villages, CADSAC caters for both people wanting to learn to Scuba Dive and for already qualified divers looking for a friendly club. We provide our Members with quality training and varied diving throughout the UK as well as more adventurous and exotic diving abroad. Club Night We meet every Monday Night from 7.30pm in the Stewarts & Lloyds Cricket Club Pavilion, Cannock Road, Corby (just off Occupation Road near the old Stars Night Club). See Map Of location With different rooms within the pavillion our experienced Instructors teach new and intermediate divers the skills required to get in the water to have a safe and enjoyable dive. For one hour per week throughout the year between 9pm to 10pm we train at Corby International Swimming pool. It is used for novice training, checking new kit options, snorkel sports or just swimming. With the adjustable depth of the floor it makes the ideal place for novices and experienced divers train. Other Club members plan their upcoming diving expeditions, share their experiences or just catch up with a beer! Equipment To get you started the club has a limited amount of dive equipment which is available to borrow. The kit is intended for pool training use only, but due to the high cost of kit many new ‘club divers’ borrow this equipment for open water use for up to a year, whilst they decide if diving is the sport for them, or they become able to purchase their own equipment. Air fills are available for all club members from our own compressor and air bank. This handles up to 300 bar air cylinders, or up to 232 bar for 02 clear cylinders.

Also our approach is collaborative – what we mean by this is that we help you identify what your own options are, what your own values are, what your calling in Christ really means to you. Then we support you in achieving this through our training programs. We are also developing these ideas academically, looking beyond our own calling and practices. We work alongside local congregations, helping to equip them for both local church life and wider mission. We also offer training for Christian leaders and those who want to learn to help others. The Armed Forces Network (AFN) started in Sussex in 2011 and is a multi-organisational group which includes members from the NHS, MoD, Armed Forces Reservists, Mental and Physical Health Clinicians, the Royal British Legion, SSAFA and other interested charities and organisations from across Sussex (i.e. police and local authorities). In July 2016, this model was rolled out to Kent and Medway and is commissioned by the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) across both Sussex and Kent & Medway. The members work together to improve the lives of the Armed Forces community (ex and serving personnel and their immediate families). The AFN also includes Service Champions from a wide range of the organisations across both counties who are advocates for the Armed Forces community and have the skills and knowledge to support through direct service provision, linking with other organisations or signposting to where additional support could be received. It is managed by the Armed Forces Director for both Sussex and Kent & Medway ICBs. Each Network aims to facilitate the ICBs and the local community in the delivery of the Armed Forces Covenant Commitment and the Armed Forces Act 2021. In November 2014, the AFN won a National Military and Civilian Health Partnership Award for its work on education, training and research with local military personnel. The AFN was commended for its work on developing a unique set of relationships to ensure organisations are identifying and meeting the specific needs of the Armed Forces community through local health and care services. The Support Team has continued to develop and deliver a range of resources, many of which are contained within this website. These included a wide range of CPD and other accredited courses, factsheets, flip tools of contacts, topic area specific pathways. This continued growth has been recognised in the national Soldiering On Awards where the Network was been a finalist for two years and a winner in 2020.

The Guild is the national professional association for Blue and Green Badge Tourist Guides working throughout the British Isles, including the Isle of Man and Jersey. With around 800 full members and a network of regional and local associations with nearly 1,000 members holding group membership, the Guild represents around 1,800 guides. Its members offer guiding in 34 different languages. They are listed in the Guide Search facility. Since its foundation in 1950, the Guild has been dedicated to raising and maintaining the highest professional standards of its membership. The Blue and Green Badge is recognised internationally as the qualification of excellence in site and heritage interpretation, and in communication skills. It is awarded only following extensive training and vigorous examination. The Guild is run by an Executive Council, elected by the membership, and salaried office staff, and provides support and advice to its members on both policy and all issues covering guide services, sites, coach operators and health & safety. The members are kept up-to-date with weekly e-bulletins and regular newsletters packed with informative articles and updates on guiding-related issues; monthly diaries listing major events, opening times and admission prices; access to an extensive Continuing Professional Development programme. Guild members are covered under public liability insurance, which provides annual cover up to £5million. A copy of the policy is kept at Guild House and the office staff can assist with any enquiries you have as to extent of cover, which includes cover whilst on tour anywhere in the world. As a highly respected organisation within the tourism industry the Guild is without political bias. It acts as a pressure group and consultative body on all matters concerning guiding.
