I first heard of human trafficking in 2010 when a young couple visited our church. They shared about the work they were doing overseas to help young women that were caught in human trafficking. What they shared that morning took me by surprise, as I couldn't believe that slavery still existed. In my mind, slavery was a thing of the past, but as they shared about their work and the stories of the women they were helping, I felt the need to do something. At that time, I was working in a sales and marketing role at a local engineering and manufacturing company. It was a position that afforded my young family comfort, stability, and even a few luxuries. Over the course of two years, I deliberated what my role should be to help those enslaved. I knew I needed to be a part of the solution and not sit idly by. Growing up in Ukraine as a missionary kid, I learned from my parents what it meant to set personal comforts aside to better serve others. With God's guidance, I made the very difficult decision to leave the comfort of my sales and marketing position in an effort to fully commit myself to this cause. Worthwhile Wear launched in India in 2012 and then launched a variety of programs in the US in 2014. Today Worthwhile Wear has grown to offer the most comprehensive services to survivors of trafficking in the state of PA. I haven't once regretted the decision our family made to step away from a career job in order to better serve these brave survivors. Knowing that my days are spent helping women experience freedom and realize their true worth, has made each day a rewarding one. I have the support and help of my wife and two children, and we’ve committed ourselves to provide for and support these women. At my core I believe every person on this planet is of equal value and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. It is our desire that through our actions, each woman in our programs would know that they truly are worthwhile.

In 2011, I discovered I had a spiritual gift that enabled me to connect with universal energy. This discovery came to me very quickly and without warning. My spiritual life previous to this had been non-existent. I was not attached to any religion, or had any visions, or felt anything. I was very content with my life. The universe clearly had other ideas for me and sent me a premonition of an accident that would happen to one of my daughters. The vision got to the point that I could clearly see life after the accident, and it was not a pleasant life at all. I made the decision to listen to the vision/warning and change course so the accident wouldn’t happen. This then raised questions for me as to where did that vision come from. Through some wonderful people around me I began my spiritual journey, learning about a whole new universe out there. I found I connected very easily and could tap into this wealth of support and wisdom. Although in many respects beautiful, this new world also opened up huge challenges for me. Family very dear to me challenged what I was experiencing and wanted to stop me practicing. I got very ill at the same time and had to battle every step of the way. I did not stop learning though, and it has been the spirituality, as well as sheer determination, that has healed me and got me to where I am today. I pursued my gift as a spiritual healer; holding circles with friends, becoming reiki attuned, healing with crystals, working with the angelic realms and giving readings. Then I went on a course about home healing through dowsing and Into The Light Property Healing was born. I now use my spiritual connection to alter energy in homes here on earth. It’s fantastic. If I couldn’t do it and get the results I have achieved, I wouldn’t believe it myself. This line of work is now my business and my life. I take my work very seriously, although I understand that many of my clients will never truly understand what I do. That’s ok, because it is the result that matters.

In this role, Simon led the transformation of the school into a lighthouse school for Cultures of Thinking pedagogy and practice, and became a key influencer in the cultures of thinking movement in Australia. Being Swedish in origin I feel very strongly that our wellbeing and happiness should be more prominent in our way of life and the concept of Lagom, which means ‘just about right, not too much or too little’ is a key concept to Swedish people. This balance between work and pleasure is perhaps more clearly articulated in Scandinavia and sits well together with the key foundation of the Positive Psychology movement. After my initial Psychology degree I worked in the Further Education Sector and I still have a particular interest in adolescents and in Post 16 work. I did my Educational Psychology training at the Tavistock Clinic in London in the mid 90s, and I had a good grounding in Attachment and Resilience based frameworks as well as Family Therapy. Over the years, I have also specialised in specific learning difficulties as well as more recently in Positive Psychology with a particular interest in Coaching Psychology. Over the last year I have received Positive Psychology Coaching from one of Britain’s most well established Positive Psychologists, Miriam Akhtar. Being on the receiving end of good coaching has given me a personal insight into its transformational powers. Having been an educational psychologist for over 20 years in a number of different settings, including both Local Authorities and the Independent Sector, as well as assessments for students in Higher Education, I came across Positive Psychology when experiencing personal and health changes in my own life. I applied a number of Positive Psychology strategies such as The Keys To Happier Living, (See Action for Happiness below) and I learnt to keep my attention and focus in the right place in order to promote wellbeing. I learnt what my Character Strengths were which enabled me to see myself in a different light. I feel strongly that everybody would benefit from knowledge of these principles. I am therefore keen to provide Positive Psychology training and insights to individuals, families and schools. Since the birth of Lifetime Learning, the organisation has grown and further providing more courses. Lifetime Learning’s main source of funding is achieved through Analyse School Performance (ASP) Training and Consultancy. Analyse School Performance (ASP) Training and Consultancy is provided for all schools and local authorities, analysing the school’s performance and progress data. The mission is to provide quality and multifaceted courses in education and training for Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Special, Church and Independent Schools. Lifetime Learning started off providing IT Training to disadvantaged young people in Tower Hamlets. We have successfully grown and now provide over 15 different courses that are open to the general public! Lifetime Learning is dedicated to working with individuals who want to better themselves. Achieving the fulfilment of education and helping individuals achieve sustainable employment in their desired fields is what we strive for. We work towards spreading permanent change in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets by reducing the unemployment rate, as well as increasing health and social well-being.
