Restorative theory can be adapted to all relationships. The content of our training sessions and the nature of restorative theory results in delivery of a highly personalised, bespoke programme which is able to be interpreted for any relationship be it employer/employee, parent/child and teacher/student. We are all firm believers that restorative approaches combined with high challenge and support leads to improved outcomes for all. An essential part of the work we do involves teaching young people about themselves. Learning about the impact of our developing brains on behaviour; transforms behaviour. Talking connects our emotional non-verbal right brain with our logical verbal left brain and allows us to create an integrated brain capable of expressing need and solving problems. We have seen how empowering people to express themselves in this way has had a profoundly positive impact on their self-esteem and mental health. We think these skills are invaluable for all of us in every relationship.

Produced by Threshold Studios, Frequency is an international festival of digital creativity, hosted every two years in the historic city of Lincoln. Next edition October 2023. Frequency is a platform for celebrating the pioneering spirit of digital innovation; sparking debates on digital culture, nurturing talent within the creative industries, and inspiring the digital creative in us all.

Mexborough

Supplying Free Training to Mexborough Mexborough Resource and Training Centre is located on the corner of Hampden Road/Dolcliffe Road in central Mexborough, easily accessible by car or public transport. Mexborough is in the catchment area for Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster, an often-overlooked fabulous central point for people wishing to access this area of South Yorkshire. The resource centre was recently purchased by Peter Newman, a local businessman, who is also the owner of Mexborough Business Centre. Aquired in December 2015 Peter and his team have successfully built up its tenancy from 25% to 90% capacity, whilst securing an ongoing commitment to the restoration of this original Victorian building. We are hoping to attract training companies looking for new venues in the South Yorkshire area. We will work alongside Mexborough Community Partnership, a social enterprise, who are already based at the Resource Centre in a bid to also attract more community/charity groups who require space and funding.

Neuro Dramatic Play® was coined and developed by innovative international arts practitioner Dr Sue Jennings. It is an attachment-based intervention that focuses on the early playful relationship between ‘mother and unborn child - mother and newborn child’. Through play and drama, it emphasises a combination of basic trust, security and ritual, with stimulation, exploration and risk. Ritual and risk form the basis of children feeling safe in the world.as well as a desire to explore it. Neuro Dramatic Play® enables people to become more playful and to think ‘outside the box’. It encourages people to be more independent and self-reliant. It affirms people’s identity and self-esteem, and the building of social relationships. Abi’s background is in youth work and she has collaborated with a number of organisations to develop participatory approaches to working with vulnerable adolescents. She has worked with The International Centre: Researching Child Sexual Exploitation, Violence and Trafficking at the University of Bedfordshire, supporting specialist social care teams in Wigan and Rochdale to implement strengths and participatory approaches to Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE). Abi co-wrote training for these teams with Dr Camille Warrington on behalf of Research in Practice. At the University of Bedfordshire, Abi also worked on the LEAP project (2015-17) with Dr Kate D'Arcy. Abi wrote training tools for young people and professionals across Europe, in order to respond to young people's experiences of sexual violence and to support efforts to prevent sexual violence. The three-day youth facilitator training programme is called “Life-skills, leadership and limitless potential" (LLLP). All these programmes provide knowledge and tools to apply participatory approaches to practice with young people.

Karen enjoys working with a range of painting and drawing media, including printmaking, sometimes combining these to create mixed media images. Each type of medium brings its own exciting possibilities and unique qualities, something she continually explores. Her interest in Printmaking developed at Kendal College whilst completing a Foundation Degree in Drawing with the University of Cumbria. She finds the quality of the marks produced particualrly fascinating and experiencing the reveal is one of the joys of working with printmaking processes Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Cumbria and Lancashire over the last 25 years and she has been involved with projects including Printfest, C-Art and Go Herdwick. Karen is an experienced qualified teacher and has been teaching art in the adult education sector since 2011. She teaches for large organisations as well as running classes for private groups and individuals. Greywalls Studio, Lindale, has recently become her studio home, a perfect creative base in lovely Cumbria.
