Nathan has worked at LifeLine since 2003 and has developed key relationships with schools across East London providing a ‘pastoral partnership’ in the form of mentoring, alternative provision and youth leadership programmes. Nathan also developed and spearheads LifeLine’s award-winning Vision, Identity and Purpose (VIP) Framework, an approach to working with young people, employment seekers, volunteers and parents. Prior to this he worked for the local Children’s Fund as a Community Liaison Officer. He continues to support youth organisations by providing education and mentoring advice and training. Following the devastating loss of wholly innocent Lewis who was killed by a single shotgun blast as he walked along the Liverpool - Leeds canal in Eldonian Village, Liverpool. At the time Lewis had planned to meet a friend on the night of 15th November 2015. LDF was set up to combat the exploitation and recruitment of Children and Young People into criminal behaviour. LDF aims to restore safer communities that develop Young People who are socially aware and make positive decisions. The Children, Young People and Families across Merseyside are challenged at a local level, where vulnerable and exposed young people are engaging with LDF through the awareness of Gun, Knife and Drug crime. Work is already being conducted with at risk young people who share an openness and key indicators of criminal exploitation. Drawing focus and attention to the negative impact this has on individuals, families and whole communities.

Not being able to access immediate support and care can have devastating effects, leading to further decline in mental health. We do not think people should have to wait until crisis point to get the help they need. We focus on early intervention to prevent long-term consequences, and support individuals and families into empowerment. As a Community Interest company, we take a holistic approach to our work, offering a range of well-established and evidence-based support services that are entirely led by the needs of the community.
