Welcome to Skylark Crochet ~ Workshops Made Fun! The joy of creating something new, seeing your own work being brought to life from your own hands is very hard to beat. Skylark wants to support you to find that joy for yourself by offering a range of craft courses and workshops to start you on your journey or give you extra confidence to improve the skills you have. Due to Covid-19, workshops continue to be held online via Zoom. We try to recreate the fun and supportive atmosphere online to challenge and inspire! More than that, we want to bring crafty people together by organising monthly “Crafternoons“ to bring local people together in the spirit of making and possibly cake too. Such a great experience! We were looking to learn and experience something new and going here did not disappoint. We have now had two courses here and I cannot be happier. I highly recommend taking the Raku course, even though we did really love our time on the wheel and hand-building experiences too. Each are so unique and give a different outcome.

Jimbo is a registered Clincal Engineer working for the NHS specialising in designing custom equipment to assist people in overcoming physical impairments. He believes if you have the tools and inclination anyone can make anything. Over the last year he has finished converting a transit to a camper van, made a chicken coop out of old pallets, is currently working on making some childrens toys and his next project is making beds for his wee’uns.

Specialising in hand made, thrown items, in porcelain and stoneware with glazes developed by the potter. Beginners pottery classes, learning to throw on the wheel to make finished work can be booked through the website.

Georgia Marshall-Brown is the Mum and brains behind teddyand.me. Frustrated by boring, gender stereotyped children’s fashion, Georgia took up her needle and thread and set about designing original, fun and comfortable clothes for her son. A passionate and lifelong craft-a-holic, Georgia has a BaHons in Graphic Design, MA in Design Practice, and also studied at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. In 2017, she won Dressmaker of the Year in the Children’s Wear category. Teddyand.me was inspired by Georgia’s desire to nurture her son’s creativity and originality. She believes that every child is unique - the clothes they wear and the toys they play with are a vital part of how they learn to be themselves.
