Connectforce Community CIC is a social enterprise building connection, creativity & confidence within marginalised communities through collaboration with our network of artists. Why artists? Artists and performers are trained communicators, brimming with empathy and openness, and Connectforce is passionate about providing an accessible outlet for these skills to have a positive impact on wider society. With a network of over 100 artists, we work with communities to build programmes that best suit their needs. Through one-on-ones, mentoring and group workshops, we bring together artists with people of all ages who would benefit from support. Our story Connectforce was established in May 2020 as a COVID-19 emergency response, seeking to combat the isolation and growing disconnect for UK care home residents. Initially set out to provide the means with which these residents could communicate with their loved ones: donating electronic devices to over 165 of the most critically in-need care homes across the country. Since then, the national and global situation has developed, and Connectforce has grown and adapted; recognising the importance of going much further than the donation of physical resources to get to the root of the profound problem of social isolation within the communities that we work in.

Founded by Jules Fallon in 2012, Sew Me Something began as a small sewing class at a local highschool tech room. Workshops were so popular that Jules had no choice but to up-sticks and find her classes a new home of their own. From a quirky little store in the center of Stratford-Upon-Avon (which featured a modest haberdashery downstairs and sewing studio upstairs) Jules opened the first Sew Me Something Store and soon after, created the very first SMS sewing pattern (The Kate Dress - still a customer favourite!). I am a lettering artist and graphic designer who creates brand identities, e-commerce websites, hand lettered logos, as well as large scale lettering work such as chalkboard menus, signs and shop windows. I worked for 8 years as an in-house graphic designer for international fashion and beauty brand Mary Quant, where I played an active part in the company’s transition from physical stores to digital, and had the chance to work on a wide variety of projects from conception to finish, as the only designer in the team. I now help small businesses in the UK stand out and connect with their audience through recognisable brand visuals and hand drawn typography. Most of my clients are coffee and food businesses, artists and makers who are passionate about their craft and want their unique brand personality to shine. I love sharing my creative skills: I teach hand lettering workshops in various locations in London, and work with CIC’s to deliver lettering, typography and graphic design workshops for young people. I am a maker myself and run a product business called The Alternative Type, where I create and sell hand lettered goods inspired by my love of alternative music and goth aesthetic.

Hi, I’m Kylie Henshaw – a craft tutor and Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Menston, Leeds in the UK. I’ve been teaching card making and paper crafts across Yorkshire for nearly 10 years. During the pandemic I started offering classes and craft parties online over Zoom and FaceBook, sending kits through the post and sharing video tutorials, so that I could continue to provide my guests with a fantastic crafty experience from the comfort and safety of home. I continue with my virtual craft classes, but I’ve also have restarted my in-person events which are mostly from my home in Menston, but also other venues around Leeds/Bradford. I offer bespoke private craft sessions for groups, such as WIs on Zoom or in-person and can provide lovely, fun creative activities for Hen Parties, staff retreats or a crafty get-together with friends. I believe that everyone has a creative side and my aim is to provide all my guests with a relaxing couple of hours away from the stresses and strains of daily life, to focus on doing something fun and creative. You’ll always end the session with something fabulous you’ve made yourself, hopefully de-stresssed and perhaps with new friends as well as the skills and inspiration to keep creating!

Student Leadership and Voice Provision of opportunities for student leadership is a named intention on the whole-school development plan. In KS3, the Fullhurst Pledge provides all students with opportunities to enhance their leadership skills. In KS4, there are a range of leadership roles students can take on including becoming a sports leader, a peer to peer reading buddy or a prefect In addition to this, there are annual events upon which students lead, for example Anti-Bullying Week, charity events and Student Takeover Day. Prefects From the moment students join Fullhurst, we encourage them to aspire towards becoming a year 11 prefect. Prefects are selected on the basis of reflecting the key values of the school. We expect applicants to have very high attendance with exemplary punctuality, exceptional behaviour records and the highest standards of uniform. Similarly, their conduct in and around the college must be beyond reproach. We ask prefects to represent the school in many ways, including escorting visitors on tours of the site on open evening and parents frequently comment that they are a credit to the college. Prefects also provide invaluable support to younger pupils in particular, through supporting staff in their designated roles at lunchtime and helping to guide new pupils through the transition process.
