Wing Training delivers unique and bespoke course interventions for; Adult customers furthest from the workplace, adult clients with clear, identified and entrenched barriers, adult clients with a range of profound mental health and wellbeing issues, adult clients requiring support, both moving into, and in work. Wing Training adopts a highly specialised delivery approach utilising professional actor-teachers and 'Forum Theatre' techniques. It's mission is to ENABLE and INSPIRE client groups by facilitating a process of high level self-assessment and self-realisation, allowing those with a range of issues, barriers and health conditions move out of crisis and into meaningful recovery and progression. Alongside, Wing Training uses the highly acclaimed WEMWBS tool to measure improvement in mental health and improvement, and currently we can prove an average 16% increase per participant per programme. Since 2011, Wing Training has assisted over 6000 clients with wellbeing issues move successfully forward - partners including; People Plus, Ingeus, The Shaw Trust. Maximus, Acorn Training and two large FE colleges. Clients have regularly included; homeless people, ex-offenders, lone parents and those recovering from a variety of crisese. Of these, over 70 percent have moved into relevant and meaningful progression, and we can boast a 90 percent client improvement rate in a wide range of mental health related outcomes – notably; confidence, self-esteem, emotional well-being, social skills/interaction, motivation, focus, and positivity - proving levels of profound recovery. Similarly, when delivering the same resource to, specifically, harder to reach unemployed clients, we have assisted, globally, over 27 percent - of 3000 referrals - move into paid, full time work and 70 percent into other progressions (ie further training). Nearly all of these have been ‘Work and Health programme’ participants. Since April 2020, Wing Training has delivered completely digitally, but our business ambition is to move back to 'face to face' as soon as is possible to assist vulnerable clients struggling post-Covid. Funding allowing, all of our courses can be accredited to Level One and our learners achieve, either an Award, a Certificate or a Diploma in Personal and Social Development, with specialised IAG and Digital skills embedded. Wing Training is now operating all training on-line. An introduction from our Chief Executive Robert Candy… I started the Scaffolding Association in 2011 with the intention of creating an open and inclusive organisation that would provide unbiased support to businesses operating in the scaffolding and access sector. Since then we have made considerable progress with our strategic campaign to raise safety standards, strengthen skills training, improve the levels of scaffolding competence and extend our independent audit process to protect product and service quality. Our membership growth demonstrates that we’re creating a business framework that allows scaffolding contractors of all sizes to deliver professional services while improving the safety, and competitive nature, of the whole industry. Robert Candy The new Audited Membership category has been developed in line with PAS91 specifically to demonstrate that scaffolding contractors operate to the highest standards. It offers an independent third party audit, against a scaffolding-specific procurement standard. This move has been welcomed by house builders, local authorities and major contractors who now see the benefit of our members on their tender lists and construction sites. The health and well-being of the workforce is our number one priority. Our vision is one of workplaces that are incident- and injury-free, where everyone returns home safely. The Association continues work with designers, clients and other stakeholders to achieve this. The Association also meets regularly with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to learn from incidents and to work together across the industry to produce policies and procedures that benefit everyone. Safety alerts and standards have been prepared with the HSE covering a range of issues including edge protection and loading bay gates. Training provision and the setting out of best practice is one of the key strategic aims of the Association. We are creating a central hub of knowledge for the whole industry, and we’re committed to leading the way in the provision of world class training in the use of scaffolding. Our members represent a significant percentage of the sector’s capacity and our aim has always been to aid companies in expanding their services and capabilities safely and efficiently. By having such a broad range of members that include clients, erectors, designers, and health and safety professionals, we have been able to assist in creating new opportunities that allow our members to leverage greater value and standards in the scaffolding industry.

Pass Move Grin was founded with one coach and one player and has grown to run different centres with some excellent coaches joining our staff. PMG is an award winning company that works with over 150 players per week. We currently run three sessions a week, working with players from 4-18years old, some of which have previously travelled from Leicester, Derby, and Lincoln due to our values, reputation, and quality training. PMG’s philosophy focuses on building better people first and foremost as this is the foundation of success, in life or sport. We use football as a method to teach life skills, such as the value of persistence, building resilience, communication skills, leadership skills and having a positive attitude. Our sessions are run for players to ‘Learn, Enjoy, Improve’, a motto of PMG that all coaches buy into. We at PMG have created a challenging but caring environment, where players are pushed to be better, more respectful, work hard as individuals and collectives, and are given the support network to ensure they achieve their own potential. Our coaches, some of which are the highest qualified in Nottingham, buy into our philosophy of developing people first and foremost, are all DBS certified, first aid trained and up to date with safeguarding procedures. PMG understand that to be a good footballer you must be respectful, disciplined, hard working with a positive mentality, as well as technically proficient, tactically aware, and socially good. We work across all these areas in a holistic manner. We consider football to be a journey, where parents, players and coaches must work together. Players that show the right attitude and determination are offered trials at professional and semi-professional clubs, representing team PMG who travel to opposition academies to play games. From here players can be scouted which can be the start of their academy journey, as it has been for over 54 PMG players so far. Further to this what makes PMG stand out is the quality we deliver when coaching. PMGs training is based around game understanding and intelligence, which help speed up development by putting the players in game realistic situations. We ensure that all players feel included in the sessions and differentiate objectives to ensure appropriate learning for all.

EOF Hackspace is an open community of makers and repairers who come together to share knowledge, tools and space. Our location at Makespace Oxford offers us a much needed workshop space to work on all kinds of projects, including collaborations with Brookes University, Oxfordshire County Library, the Ashmolean Museum and more. The tools we purchase and the direction in which we expand will be primarily decided by our members. If you would like us to acquire a particular tool, please join the co-op and make your case! We also take suggestions from non-member users, however it may take longer to action them. How we operatePermalink As a user of the space you can use any tools provided. You can also use the consumables available, provided you replace them regularly or make a small donation. Your subscription money goes into a pot that pays the bills and anything extra gets apportioned to improving the space. Activities in the space are organised by keen volunteers so if you want to learn anything new please find an experienced member and ask them to host a workshop. A good place to do this is in chat. Making changes to the space and the direction we take is done through regular meetings with the members of the co-op (How to Join). These meetings are also open to non-members on the understanding that they are present as advisors. We are keen for our members to make the workshop better suited to their needs, while respecting the needs of others, so small improvements only need a couple of people to agree they are suitable and do not need to be brought to the meetings. Sometimes the tools will break. We are not a professional service and as such unless a tool makes financial sense to replace we expect our members to fix them. That may mean that your favourite tool might be out of service for a while. Please highlight it when it happens but be understanding since everyone in the group is a volunteer. The XML Summer School is a unique event for everyone using, designing, or implementing solutions using XML and related technologies, held in Oxford, UK. The week-long event is made up of courses which range from the basics of XML to advanced topics in linked data, web design, and publishing. Faculty tutors include practitioners and academics who are at the forefront of XML and related technologies. How is the teaching structured? Each course comprises a series of small-group classes, with plenty of time for questions and discussion. Some courses also feature a hands-on component, where you’ll have the opportunity to try out the techniques you have learned, and receive feedback and support on your work. There are also panel discussions, and informal learning opportunities over meals and evening activities. What prior knowledge do I need? That depends. The Hands-on Introduction to XML course is intended for anyone who needs to work with XML and wants to learn the basics. The other courses all assume at least this basic level of knowledge, so if you’re a beginner, you’ll need to take the Hands-on Introduction before moving on to the more advanced training. The exception to this is Trends and Transients, which features lectures by guest speakers about a variety of topics on the cutting edge of XML-related technologies. If you’re unsure about the suitability of any of our courses for your specific needs, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise you! I have previously worked as a horse-riding instructor as well as a travel agent, and before going on maternity leave, was working in customer service. After having Hailey I couldn’t bare the thought of sitting behind a desk all day while she went to nursery. I like to be active and love meeting new people. I took Hailey to Tots Play from the time she was just a few weeks old and we loved it. The benefits and results were amazing. From getting her to sleep better and helping her get over colic, to chats and advice from the parents and it was lovely seeing how much Hailey loved the interaction too. When the opportunity came to take over Tots Play in the area, I was so excited and was determined to make it happen. The support I received in the classes really helped me as a first-time mum, and I am passionate about providing this for others parents. Running the business also allowed me to escape the office environment, meet new people and be there to see my daughter grow up - a perfect fit for me! The Tots play program offers a unique experience using massage, yoga, music, sign language and sensory play all in one class. In the Winter of 2014, Pole Place opened its first studio just South of London in West Sussex. A second studio followed shortly after north of the border in the heart of Glasgow’s city centre. Founded by Ruby Rose Jackson in her hometown of Horsham, Pole Place’s original home was on the second floor of a popular bar on Piries Place - B52’s. Ruby had long dreamt of opening her own Pole studio having become hooked years earlier. Qualifying as an instructor, and with an ever-growing Pole skillset combined with a natural passion for teaching and inspiring those around her the initial idea of Pole Place was firmly at the visionary stage. Like any new business, funding was required to move it from the ideas stage to cutting the ribbon. With the studio as the inspiration Ruby began to fly as cabin crew with British Airways. Without revealing the un-glamorous side to air travel, on many random nights in many random places, hotel rooms all around the world became Ruby’s office - any spare minute she could find would go into business planning, designing, developing and creating her dream - Pole Place. Her dedication eventually paid off and she was able to leave her full-time post flying to finally open Pole Place’s studio doors. Pole Place initially began with a handful of clients. Steadily growing within the first couple of years, the Horsham studio later moved into our larger, current home on Church Street in Warnham. In 2016, a change in Ruby’s personal life presented her with a family move to Scotland. This gave way for an ideal opportunity to open a Pole Place sister venue on West Nile Street in Glasgow’s city centre which provides our Scottish “hame”! At Pole Place, we are extremely proud to have created a safe space for anyone to come and step out of their comfort zone and into an exciting new world. Where hair is flicked, confidence is boosted and dreams are made. Growing over the years, we have had the pleasure of teaching thousands of clients across both our studios. With nine instructors within our team, we are honoured to provide support and inspiration to all of our clients. From teaching the basics to mastering tricks, giving new skills, confidence and empowering one another.
