At Fight for Peace young people make friends, get fit, and develop their interests, skills, and confidence. Our aim is to ensure young people achieve their full potential in life, and we welcome any young person from our communities aged 7-25 years old. We embrace the power of sport for the life lessons it teaches, such as resilience and discipline, as well as improved health and wellbeing. And we combine this with one-to-one mentoring conversations with qualified youth workers, personal development sessions, and education and employability support. Young leaders also shape our services, being part of staff recruitment and strategy development, producing communications, and progressing to employed roles as ‘Next Gen’ staff. We support around 500 young people per year at our Academy in east London and, in order to reach as many young people as possible, we train and work with like minded community partners across the UK and the world - something we call the Fight for Peace Alliance. We also coordinate Collectives in east London and Jamaica to bring together diverse partners from across communities in support of young people. 🌟 About Me: Hello there! I'm Julie, a dedicated professional in the driver education industry with a passion for guiding individuals towards becoming safe and qualified drivers. My journey began in 2003 when I achieved my qualification as a Driving Instructor, realizing a lifelong ambition and following in my father's footsteps. Helping young people navigate the road to safe driving has always been at the core of my mission. Life took an unexpected turn when my now ex- husband received an opportunity to work in Dubai, leading us to embark on a 15-year adventure in the Middle East. During this time, I temporarily stepped away from teaching. However, upon our return to the UK, the challenge of finding a Professional Driving Instructor for my 17-year-old daughter opened my eyes to the struggles parents face. This personal experience ignited my determination to re-qualify as an instructor, and I found immense joy in helping my daughter and other students achieve their driving dreams. In the wake of the global changes brought about by Covid, the demand for Driving Instructors soared. Distressed parents, unable to find professional help, approached me daily. Witnessing this struggle motivated me to create online courses, offering parents valuable insights and guidance for supporting their teenagers through the learning process. I also initiated the "Private Practice" Facebook Group, a community where I freely share advice to enhance home practice. 🚗 Online Courses: My online courses are designed to empower parents to provide the right support at home, ensuring their teenagers receive effective training. Having experienced the challenges firsthand, I understand the importance of quality instruction during private practice. The London College of Osteopathic Medicine (LCOM) is the teaching arm of the Osteopathic Trust, and the Osteopathic Association Clinic (OAC) is the clinic arm. Osteopathic Trusts is a charity (Charity No 31375) formed in 1937 by a group from the early cohort of pioneer Osteopaths who came from the USA. Their purpose was to enable the teaching of osteopathy to registered medical practitioners in the UK, attempting to provide osteopathic treatment at low cost to the local community. LCOM and OAC are closely linked. The Clinics attract a steady flow of patients who seek relief from a wide variety of musculo-skeletal aches and pains. People can see qualified practitioners or osteopaths in training, who are supervised by qualified tutors. The trainees benefit from the practical opportunity to rehearse their new skills, learnt over a period of a year and a half in weekly techniques tutorials.

Now, more than ever, Green Shoes is a radical shoemaking business. We make footwear on a small scale, by hand, in our Devon workshop, using skills learnt and passed on through decades. We endeavour to keep our environmental impact low by making our footwear long-lasting and repairable. All footwear is handmade to order in full and half sizes from UK 2- 12, in four different width fittings. We make our high boots in three leg widths. We also have a stock of standard sized shoes in our shop. We work from foot drawings that can be drawn by us in the shop, or sent to us in the post. These are used to establish which size to make, therefore the size you select online is only a guide for our shoemakers. As each pair of shoes is made to order, please allow for making time.

At the School we strive to provide the highest possible standard of teaching in both Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Syllabus. At the School, students are given the opportunity to study for the examinations of The Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) as well as examinations of The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). The School encourages students to work towards examinations. The School aims to create both technical and performance skills through a range of dance genres. These examinations are optional and are not a requirement to join the School.

Heartwize is a charity formed in 2014 with one goal, to create a generation of lifesavers. The charity has now taught life saving skills in secondary schools in Leicester and Rutland as well as with different community groups. The charity has also supplied Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to all schools involved to increase the likelihood of survival of out of hospital cardiac arrest. Heartwize delivers basic life support training including CPR using resuscitation dolls as well as how to use AEDs. Heartwize volunteers and resuscitation officers provide the training to ensure school children and other groups have the confidence and knowledge to perform CPR and help save a life. From September 2019, the charity is branching out and beginning training in secondary schools in Essex.
