Disability TrainingBascule Disability Training, was founded by Chris Jay. Chris is a recognised and prominent voice on the topic of disability awareness. Born with cerebral palsy, Chris has been a wheelchair user for over 20 years, and is an accomplished training facilitator, public speaker, guest spokesperson and writer on the topic of disability awareness. Prior to launching Bascule Disability Training, Chris worked as a Training Facilitator and Project Manager for the disability awareness charity- Enable Me, where he developed and delivered training programmes for businesses, universities and schools. He was later appointed as the Executive Chairman of the charity for three years where he steered the organisation back to its core mission of helping to raise awareness of disability in local, educational and business communities. His role as a Disability Awareness Trainer has allowed him to develop considerable knowledge and experience in assisting and supporting businesses and universities to develop organisational awareness through unique and bespoke training packages. He has worked with various organisations in numerous areas of business such as the banking and finance sector, (including Coutts Bank) and in the retail, education and the hospitality industry (including Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton Universities). His support and staff development programmes, interactive modules and workshops have provided workforces with a firmer understanding of disability and its organisational benefits. Based in Southampton, Chris is a Director of Great Ballard School, near Chichester- an Independent co-educational prep school. He is also a Freeman of the City of London through the Worshipful Company of Educators and a member of the Chartered Management Institute.

The Blaque Room is an community organisation started in in the hopes of highlighting the realities of sexual assault, human trafficking and similar atrocities. Although this is the case The Blaque Room also prides itself on being a place that offers some solutions by signposting people to organizations that can help, safety apps and also by being a supplier of personal safety devices. Established in November 2020 after a viral sexual assault video took the internet by storm, The Blaque Room saw the need to make young women and boys feel safe. Therefore, put up a post detailing the plan of supplying personal safety alarms to THIRTY young people in the local area and was soon inundated with thousands of requests for an alarm, thousands in donations and thousands of messages of support and also messages of people who have overcome and are still going through various forms of abuse. People of all ages, races and genders were thrilled with the idea of there being an organization that seeks to tackle sexual assault head on and provide a deterrent/ solution. Being an open and transparent organization, anonymized messages and requests would often be shared with followers of the page to keep them updated and make them aware of the demand. Since then, The Blaque Room has had the honour of providing over seven hundred young people across England with personal safety devices for free. A significant amount of the recipients has had to use their alarms and have in fact attributed them to saving their life.

BORN TO SWIM is a small swimming school established for 16 years. We have taught thousands of babies and children throughout the London area with amazing results. As we like to say, we teach from crib to competition. We are passionate about what we do and as well as teaching we wish to inspire our swimmers. From our baby and toddler classes, to our children’s lessons and our bespoke one-to-one sessions you can see the differences between BORN TO SWIM members to babies and children taught elsewhere. We have little ones as young as 3 years old swimming 10 metres. Okay, it may not be the national recognised stroke at this point, but it is definitely not doggy paddle. We NEVER ever teach doggy paddle or use armbands. Our teachers are enthusiastic about our approach and are all trained in the BORN TO SWIM building block methodology. They love what they do. They love children and have bags of patience and understanding little ones needs. They are energetic, build confidence, give support and tons of encouragement. Our teachers make swimming lessons fun whist learning, creating a conducive learning environment. ALL of our teachers hold ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) or STA (Swimming Teachers’ Association) level 2 qualifications, CRB Enhanced Disclosure checks and a RLSS or NRASTC qualification. A leading educator has called the Centre Academy Schools (London and East Anglia) “the most successful special needs schools in the UK and, indeed, the most unique.” Here’s why: We accept a broad range of ages, boys and girls, from 7-19 (9-19 in London). This eliminates the anxiety, common to SEN students, of having to move from school to school to school. Research has repeatedly shown that for an SEN student, moving school is a tremendously daunting experience. We address an equally broad range of learning challenges on a case-by-case basis: ASD, AD/HD, Dyslexia, Speech and Language needs, Anxiety to name but a few. Such breadth and versatility is essential, as most SEN students face more than one learning challenge—and Anxiety is common to almost all. We group not by age or by year group but rather by ability and level of preparedness. Research repeatedly shows that SEN students accomplish best when they work with peers who are working at approximately the same level. We keep our schools small, approximately 50 at London and 60 at East Anglia. This ensures that our class sizes are small (usually between 4-8 students) and that learning will be individualised. At the CA schools, one size does not fit all. All our teachers are highly experienced and all have significant expertise in teaching SEN students. We do not increase our student to staff ratio through use of learning support assistants. The Registration Council for Dog Training and Behaviour Practitioners (RCDTBP) is the United Kingdom’s independent organisation set up in 2010 to manage the CAWC Code of Practice and all that it entails. The Code sets industry agreed minimum professional standards for all those involved with providing a dog training and or behaviour service, and as such holds the official ‘Register of Signatories’ agreeing to be guided to it. In managing the Code, the Registration Council offers: all Dog Training and Behaviour Practitioners the opportunity to register their commitment to the standards of service set by the Code, including those in training and or studying to do so, and supporters with a related interest public search facilities with specific options to help people find appropriate Dog Training and or Behaviour Service(s) for their individual needs the public and other professionals the opportunity to provide us with helpful quality assurance feedback on the standards of service received, as set by the Code and to which all providers, in registering, understand and welcome unbiased and impartial guidance to all on the standards set by the Code as applied to all aspects of dog training and or behaviour services, including advice for those in-training or wishing to do so in the future related organisations, membership bodies and course providers the opportunity not only to register support for the Code, but to contribute to a comprehensive network of services setting standards or providing appropriate educational courses for Practitioners, other professionals and the public
