Pilates, Yoga, Movement Teacher and Spiral Stabilization Therapist I was introduced to PILATES and YOGA during my Dance training and kept it up for 20+ years. The holistic mind/body outlook permeates my approach to health and fitness. In addition, I offer Spiral Stabilization, a registered physical therapy for back health and postural regeneration. Other movement studies include Somatic techniques and movement for actors. During 14 years of sustained teaching, I have worked with the structural, functional, fitness and rehabilitation elements of exercise instruction with individual clients and in groups. I’m looking forward to working with you! ABOUT SPACE4MOVEMENT The movement philosophy is based on addressing the postural and muscular imbalances, increasing awareness of ineffective movement patterns and applying the exercise to improve the body’s balance, stability, agility and stamina. This leads to an overall improved body sense, movement confidence and integration which enhances a sense of wellbeing. Spiral Stabilization works on similar principles, releasing tension in vertical muscle chains by strengthening the spiral chains, hence the name. It is an alternative therapy technique developed for treatment of spinal pathologies - scoliosis and herniated disks. It has a positive effect on a number of other ailments as well as a great compliment to any other training or recreational sport. The exercise is suitable for everyone. It works best as 10- 30min home work out or a stretch during a sedentary job. movement qualifications Pole Star Pilates Certification Spiral Stabilization Therapy 200h Vyniasa Yoga Teacher Training Pre-Natal Yoga Certificate other qualifications BA (Hons) Dance Certificate of Higher Education in Contemporary Dance MA Movement: Teaching and Directing

Stonebridge Associated Colleges is a team of bright and motivated people dedicated to helping learners fulfil their potential and meet their career goals. Set up in 1995, Stonebridge Associated Colleges was initially intended to help people qualify in complementary therapies, such as reflexology and aromatherapy. Gradually, it moved towards more mainstream practices such as teaching, nursing, healthcare, business, nutrition and beauty. Some of the students we helped went on to study Marine Biology at university. Others have chosen teaching assistant courses that have landed them an early promotion. As their needs diversified, so did our curriculum. Two decades later the college became a leading name in the world of further education. Today, Stonebridge Associated Colleges has training facilities in Bude and Birmingham for a few of our vocational courses where our experienced tutors bring a hands-on approach to the teaching. However, there are over 650 online courses that can be completed remotely from anywhere in the world. With 50,000 students currently enrolled, the college is one of the largest distance learning suppliers in the UK. A dedicated support team is also on hand to address student questions regarding enrolment, finances and guidance on the best-suited courses for you. Today we are proud to be part of The Stonebridge Group, a number of companies operating in the distance learning field for both government-subsidised and commercially-funded qualifications.

Yasmin's Yoga

Sending you a very warm welcome from Brighton. If we've met you'll know me as Yas or Yasmin and if not I hope our paths connect one day soon! In my late teens I developed a keen interest in natural health & wellness, as a result of losing my wonderful mother to cancer. This would eventually lead me to Thailand and India where I would learn about Ayurveda, Shamanic Medicines, Detoxing & Cleansing and the value of natural living. I would come to learn the importance of health from the inside out and the integral balance of mind, body & spirit. A few years later I started to delve into the world of yoga and soon began to rely on my practice, as it brought me a sense of peace that I had not yet experienced. This led me to complete my Teacher Training along with many other courses and workshops, helping me to deepen my knowledge and understanding of this beautiful practice. My travels also afforded me the privilege of learning meditation with Buddhist monks. I have always been inspired by those who live yoga as a way of life and I am unbelievably passionate about sharing this practice with others. As you scroll through the site you will find my classes and workshop offerings, as well as my blog where I occasionally brain dump! If you are interested in one to one yoga sessions, personalised group classes, meditation & breathwork or a natural health consultation, please use the contact form to get in touch as I would love to hear from you. For upcoming workshops and events you can book directly online and if you'd like to gain access to early bird tickets & discounts you can subscribe to my mailing list below. Thank you so much for stopping by and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all!

West London Mindfulness Centre & Osteobreathe

London

Yes, I was just another stressed out west Londoner. Busy-ness and exhaustion was my badge of honour. I was infatuated with agitation. As a journalist, novelist and mother of three, I saw life as an uphill battle to be won. Littered with lists, relentless self-criticism and unfavourable comparison. Until I read Professor Mark Williams book about Mindfulness. Everything he explained was obvious, but had failed to see it without Mindfulness practice. I immediately gained a decisive, calm, spacious joy and so much extra time that dramatically changed the quality of my daily life. After meditating for many years, finally, I took the plunge and went to study at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, Oxford University. I went on to teacher training with the internationally-acclaimed Mindfulness teachers Martin Alyward and Mark Coleman at the Mindfulness Training Institute. I am a certified teacher with the Mindfulness Training Institute and accredited to International Mindfulness Teachers Association. Once you can bring yourself back to being present, conscious and aware of your moment by moment experience, you can so easily navigate the inevitable difficulties, ups and downs that is the stuff of all of our lives. You have no fear, no anxiety, because you have the ease of knowing you can meet all your experience without resorting to knee-jerk habits and reactions that inevitably hinder rather than help you. Once you see clearly what is going on in your daily life, you can respond wisely, simply and freely without the narratives and stories we tell ourselves and others to try and make sense of ourselves and our experience. I really hope that I will have the opportunity to share this simple, yet life changing practice with you.

I don’t come from a dance or sports background, and originally trained as a textile designer. I still design, so now combine my love of printed pattern, with my fascination with people’s movement patterns. So I’m no stranger to what sitting at a desk staring at a computer screen does to your body. And how I long to stretch and move after a day of that. I first came across Pilates about 16 years ago in my late 20’s, when I felt it was about time I started exercise of some sort, never having been ‘sporty’ or a fan of the gym. I wasn’t sure what to expect from my first class, but I did like the sound of improved muscle tone and length. I soon discovered there was a whole lot more to it than that. Although there are many physical benefits, the reason I returned after that first class, and keep returning to my mat after all these years is simply how great it makes me feel. Energised and relaxed at the same time, and definitely walking taller (a bonus when you are only 5’ 4”!) I’m certain that doing Pilates has kept the niggling aches and pains of age at bay; has allowed me to do all the other things I love with ease and grace, and has left me feeling stronger and healthier now than I did when I first started. I completed my teacher training with Body Control Pilates in 2008, and since then have loved watching the changes in my client’s bodies and their enthusiasm as they learn, and I have also learnt so much from them in return. I am a supervising teacher for BCPA in Edinburgh, helping to train new teachers, so there may be a student teacher and an extra pair of eyes to assist you in your class!
