Supported Contact Services For young people growing up in our care system the time spent with family is often an infrequent and special occasion. On average a young person in long-term foster care is likely to have the opportunity to spend time with their parents and siblings four to six times per year. It is often hard for families to come to terms with the fact that they are not able to live together- it is vital that when they can spend time together it is supported, constructive and safe. We offer a choice of activity based environments for our supported contact sessions, our staff provide support and encouragement for young people and their families to engage in a range of activities, strengthening relationships and providing guidance where needed. This results in everyone getting a positive experience from the time spent together and the activity focus can help to detract from painful memories.

The Walking with Giants Foundation was founded by Sue and John Connerty in 2008. In 2005, their son Alex was born with an unknown condition, however just over a year later he was pre-diagnosed with a condition called Microcephalic Primordial Dwarfism Type II, their son’s doctors at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool explained that he was the first child to be pre-diagnosed with the condition in the UK. At the time there was little information the doctors could give them about Alex’s condition and many questions asked by Sue and John were left unanswered. For their son, Alex, the condition meant that he spent a lot of time in hospital with serious health issues. In those first years of bewilderment and anxiety, John and Sue set on a mission to find out more information. In July 2007, Sue, John and Alex went to America on a journey of discovery that would change their lives positively forever. They got to meet other parents and children with the same or similar condition as Alex. Furthermore, they got to meet the few medical experts in the world who had experience, knowledge and understanding of Microcephalic Primordial Dwarfism Type II. Not all their questions were answered but they received enough information to allow them to care for Alex and move forward!

Kennel Club registered, the club brings its experience to both the public street, and the show ring, training for excellence in obedience shows, companion shows, and acceptable behavior in all walks of life. Puppies taught in the beginners class are given these basics and Kennel Club Puppy Foundation assesment award Advanced Categories:- These classes are for owners whose dogs have progressed from the Beginners stage and wish to achieve Bronze, Silver, and Gold Kennel Club Good Citizens Awards and/or reach higher standards of obedience, including entering obedience shows. Commands used at these higher levels will be progressively taught for detailed exercises which include advanced heelwork, retrieve, send away, scent, advanced stays and advanced control work.

Robyn is a Bristol-based director, teacher and performer. With over 20 years experience she is a passionate practitioner of clowning, physical theatre, circus and street arts. She has a MA in Circus Directing, a Diploma of Physical Theatre Practice and trained with a long line of inspiring teachers including Holly Stoppit, Peta Lily, Giovanni Fusetti, Jon Davison, Zuma Puma and Deanna Fleysha. Robyn has collaborated with companies including Let’s Circus, The Sexual Health Circus and Whispering Wood Folk and performed with acclaimed physical theatre companies including, Derevo, Akhe, Oceanallover, and Gappad as well as her own award-winning company, Fun in the Oven Theatre. During the pandemic in 2020, Robyn set up The Online Clown Academy with Holly Stoppit and developed a series of Zoom Clown Courses. Robyn’s research, started during her Masters, has been exploring the meeting point of clowning and activism, online, in the real world and with international collaborators. With this drive to explore political edges of her work she has also dived back into the world of the Bouffon; training with Jaime Mears, Bim Mason, Nathaniel Justiniano, Eric Davis, Tim Licata, Al Seed and the grand master Bouffon-himself; Philippe Gaulier. She has also set up the Laboratory of the Un-beautiful; a collaboration with Deborah Antoinette Bard, exploring the bouffon & grotesque with womxn theatre makers.

In that time I have taught within the community and worked with a wide variety of people to enhance their health, fitness and wellbeing. My background is sport and fitness based having achieved a BSc (hons) Sport Science and Administration Degree. Since graduating I have taken on many coaching roles within the fitness industry to help develop and inspire those around me. I have run FitKid sessions for children as well as RSA Exercise To Music Courses for aspiring teachers, worked as a lecturer in local colleges and of course run fitness classes ranging from Circuits and Body Pump to Yoga and Step. I bring this vast experience to my current classes along with a passion to help people be the best they can be and have fun along the way. I have encouraged many people as they start on their fitness journey and motivated them to continue on their chosen path. I love my job, it’s great fun, always interesting and so rewarding… and that’s what I want for my participants.
