Plymouth

We are a not-for-profit organisation delivering our services across the South West. For over 25-years, CSW whilst uncovering learning and work opportunities for thousands of people, has adapted to meet market demand and changing government policies to develop a broad portfolio of provision. We support businesses, young people and adults through key transition points. We deliver services that build aspiration and turn it into achievement, unlocking potential and developing individuals and organisations. Our team is motivated by the belief that support means more than a shoulder to lean on. We provide each individual with unfaltering attention, empowering them to make a lasting positive change. We aim to provide longer-term support that goes way beyond one-off contact. It is this commitment and dedication that has allowed us to achieve such fantastic results. CSW is contracted by the Local Authorities of Devon County Council, Cornwall Council, Plymouth City Council, Torbay Council and Somerset County Council to assist them in meeting their Statutory Duties under the Education and Skills Act 2008. These duties relate to the provision of services to encourage, enable or assist young people in effectively participating in education or training. To do this we are required to undertake tracking activities and to provide information to the DfE and the Local Authority in respect of personal information; individual characteristics and the current activities of young people aged 13-19.

Newton Abbot

Our mission is to help children and young people become more emotionally resilient and better placed to engage with life and learning. We do this through our whole-school approach to wellbeing - proven to improve attendance, behaviour and attainment. Thrive helps children and young people feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Thrive has been providing training, tools and insights to organisations and individuals for over 25 years. Initially conceived as a way of tackling the issue of school exclusions, Thrive now offers a whole-setting approach to supporting the right-time social and emotional development of all children and young people. The Thrive Approach consists of: 1. Thrive-OnlineTM (TOL) - a web-based profiling, action-planning and progress monitoring tool enabling you to ensure the best outcome for each child or group. 2. Thrive training - focusing on the emotional needs of different age groups, informed by established neuroscience and attachment research, as well as child development studies and research into risk and resilience factors. With our HQ based in Devon, Thrive is a business that works with local authorities, multi-academy trusts (MATs), individual schools and other settings across Great Britain. To date, more than 50,000 staff have received Thrive training, ensuring that over 627,000 children and young people have access to the Thrive Approach, changing lives and increasing educational attainment levels. Equip staff in your school, trust, early years setting or college to understand, identify and tackle the root causes of behaviour, so more time is spent productively on learning. Thrive training, online assessments, and expert strategies for working with pupils will enable you to improve attendance, behaviour and learning outcomes, and align with Public Health England’s eight principles for a whole school and college approach.

Stone Farm Study Centre

Stone Farm Study Centre is located on the edge of Dartmoor in the heart of the Devon countryside. Set in the foothills of the National Park, the site boasts 110 acres of organic park-land pasture and is an idyllic retreat for children to visit. Among 17th century listed buildings we have a traditional working farm where every morning and evening visiting groups can help with supervised farm jobs - complete with pigs, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, alpacas, a donkey, a pony, 'Hedwig' the African eagle owl and resident sheepdog Baloo there really is something for everyone! Stone Farm also has its own onsite lake where, if lucky, the children will be able to spot local birdlife including ducks, geese, moorhen and kingfishers. When taking a nature walk in the adjoining woodland we often see deer, foxes and badgers. First established in 1992 by two former teachers, Stone Farm Study Centre has welcomed schools for 30 years and we understand the educational, physical and emotional benefits school visits offer. We have attempted to create a Study Centre which we would want to visit ourselves and an environment in which every child can flourish and grow. We work closely with every school to ensure our on-site activities, and the excursions you choose in the local area, incorporate and complement the curriculum of each year group. Set up specifically and exclusively for primary schools, we welcome KS2 groups from across the country for 3 or 4 night visits.
