I began my own Yoga journey in 2002, having suffered from excruciating cluster headaches for some months I decided to see if Yoga could help. Not only did it cure my headaches it also began to take away the aches and pains I had for years in my knees. Although I “found” yoga looking for help for physical ailments, I quickly came to realise the huge benefits to my emotional and mental well being too. Having attended classes with Sam Rao for 16 years, through 2 pregnancies, work challenges, losing family and a close friend I found that Yoga really was the one thing I could turn to for help physically and mentally. In 2018 I took the leap to begin the next part of my Yoga journey and began my training with Sam Rao Yoga School. I began teaching in January 2019. Since graduating I have attended numerous courses and workshops including Teen Yoga, "The Alchemy of Touch", Introduction to teaching pregnancy Yoga, principles of Yin and Restorative Yoga and Thai Massage, and Philosophy in Movement to extend my learning and be able to offer more classes to my yogis. My personal practice remains incredibly important to me. As well as practice at home I attend a regular weekly class, as well as visiting other teachers and attending day and weekend retreats. These are amazing opportunities to self nurture and also improve my own teaching. My wish is to share Yoga with my local community and encourage you to attend a class where you listen to your body, not just my guidance, finding a Yoga practice you can share in class and also take away into your every day life. Recognising that Yoga isn't just about moving but about breath, stillness, connection, how we live our lives, kindness, compassion and nurturing. The Learning Ranger

If you have access to woodlands and permission to use it then I can offer a more traditional Forest School experience. This will usually be blocks of 5 or 6 sessions for up to 10 children at a time. Each session will last 2 hours and include a drink and snack. Alternative Forest School / PPA Cover This version of Forest School is more structured to allow a whole class to take part. This can be part of your PPA time planning as I only need one LSA for a class of 30 children. Each session lasts for 2 hours and includes a drink and snack. Don’t worry if you haven’t got a large woods – it works on playing fields next to shrubby areas with a few trees and hedges. Pricing I charge £125 per 2-hour session. This includes VAT and all materials and resources used. There may be additional costs for transport if you are not local. Why Me? I am DBS checked, Outdoor First Aid trained and a Qualified Teacher. The Learning Ranger is fully insured, including Public Liability, and activities are Risk Assessed. I will bring everything that’s needed for the activities, apart from any additional adults that are required. Session times and activities are fully flexible and I am always happy to tailor them to your needs. What is Forest School? Forest School is an inspirational process that has been developing in Scandinavian countries since the 1950’s but only made its way over to Britain in the mid 1990’s. Its basic aim is to connect children and adults with nature whilst supporting their social, emotional and physical development. Forest School sessions provide children and adults the opportunity to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning and play. Activities during Forest School sessions may include shelter building, fire lighting, using tools, outdoor cooking, games and self-led discovery.

Being a dancer from a very early age I experienced a serendipitous moment when I was introduced to yoga at the age of 17 by one of my dance teachers. For me dancing was my lifeline in discovering myself. If I was ever mentally or emotionally challenged my body released whatever it needed to release by moving it. Then yoga came into my life and I loved the way my body and my mind felt during and after the practice. It felt like I was coming home. Back to the source and truth of who and what I am. My unique style of yoga has developed over the years by my love of anatomy and physiology and the way in which the body wants to constantly heal itself. Moving and breathing in our bones enables the tissues and the fluid systems to pulse in an intelligent and healing way connecting us to our own innate wisdom. By tuning in and truly listening to what is going on, our mental, emotional, physical and psychic bodies resonate with mindfulness and clarity. I believe passionately in the power of yoga, it helps us to transcend our limitations and to find increasing freedom in our lives. What I enjoy most about teaching yoga is being able to assist others in their journey within and to help find acceptance and peace no matter where they are in their yoga practice. I am a mother to two beautiful children and we have lived in Somerset for nearly 20 years. I have also worked in the film industry for 25 years and have worked my way up from a runner to a 1st Assistant Director. I love walking in nature with my beautiful dogs and experiencing the wildness of the elements. I am a trained professional dancer & a registered Senior Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. I am a Satya Prajna teacher with Tias Little from Prajna Yoga. I am also a SUP Yoga (Stand Up Paddleboard) teacher and classes will be coming to Somerset in the very near future.
