The idea of setting up Handmade Workshops came about, as many things do, over a coffee one morning. Living in an area teeming with amazing artists and craft experts, we wanted to create a space to bring them together and give us all the opportunity to learn from their expertise, whilst at the same time having some fun and escape from daily life. I am very passionate about what I do and what I do is glass, I melt it, etch it, carve it and generally play with it and cajole it into doing what I would like it to. I completed a glass degree back in 2009 and have been experimenting and working with glass ever since. I like to try out new ideas and techniques so amongst the pieces I have available you may notice the odd "where did that come from" piece slip in.

I’ve gained a great deal of experience and skill in the design, administration, management and life-cycle of clinical trials, from the initial design ideas to the subsequent stages of protocol writing, ethical approval, recruitment, management of trial activity, timelines and expenditure, and through to the final stages of completion, statistical analyses and write up. My first experience in this area was in 2007, when I assisted in a phase III clinical trial testing the safety and efficacy of omega-3 fatty acids in children and adolescents with ADHD. The principle investigator of this trial was Professor Eric Taylor (Emeritus), who at the time was head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College, London. The clinical trial was named the Maudsley Adolescent ADHD Fatty Acid trial (MAAFA). It was the pioneering idea of Professor Taylor and a novel effort to combine the fields of psychiatry and nutrition.

This rich environment is the backdrop to the new era at Ffarm Moelyci. In 2018, after a long period of uncertainty, the farm was sold on the open market to a consortium Ymlaen Moelyci. Ymlaen Moelyci is a consortium of 10+ individual landowners who work collaboratively to make Ffarm Moelyci a success. Each member is able to drive their business to success on their own land, whilst all coming together to pool ideas, inspiration and knowledge. This is how we happened to make a batch of filthy delicious spicy peanut butter using our favorite spice, a ground paprika straight from our home town.
