Sergio & Sharon Withers Sergio & Sharon Withers Sergio & Ana Afonso Sergio & Ana Afonso Sergio Brilhante Qualified with both the ISTD and the IDTA, Sergio has extensive experience working with people from all backgrounds. In 2008 he decided to move to the UK to pursue his competitive career and become a full-time dance professional and teacher. His focus is on great technique, emotional connection with the music and of course have fun along the way. Sergio is currently in California, USA studying American Smooth and American Rhythm and will occasionally visit the studio for some coaching.Together they competed not only in Same-Sex events but were also the first and only all-male couple to participate in Professional events, challenging the notion that a couple needs to be consistent by a male and a female. As they explored the dynamics of leading and following, it felt only right to move on to the Professional field together, where they had competed for so many years. After all, if our society has developed to accept all sorts of partnerships why should in dancing be any different? They have enjoyed competing together at the most prestigious events in the UK, including the British Open that every year summons thousands of dancers across the world.

The Oxford Wine School

Witney

The original Oxford Wine Company was founded in 1840 and traded from 125 High Street, Oxford until 1914. The name was revived in the early 1990s by Ted Sandbach, metamorphosing from ‘The Oxford Hamper Company through ‘The Oxford Wine and Hamper Company’ and finally becoming ‘The Oxford Wine Company’ in the Spring of 1992. Since then expansion has been rapid and the company now bears very little resemblance to its relatively humble origins in Ted’s garage! These days, The Oxford Wine Company is a multi-award winning local independent wine merchant with a national profile. The company has achieved a Top 10 spot in Harpers Wine & Spirit 50 Best Indies every year, and has won multiple prestigious awards such as ‘Small Chain of the Year’ in the Drinks Retailing Awards and ‘Regional Merchant of the Year’ in the International Wine Challenge. The Oxford Wine Company has three shops in Oxford: on the Botley Road, Turl Street (just around the corner from the original Oxford Wine Company site) and since 2020 on Little Clarendon Street. There is also a shop at the company’s headquarters in Standlake (just outside Witney). In addition to the retail shops we have a thriving wholesale arm, supplying a large range of restaurants, bars and other businesses throughout the South of England, and even have a sales arm in Wales. Our team are passionate about wine and have the qualifications to prove it. Seven of the company’s staff hold the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Diploma, and a further four are studying towards this industry benchmark qualification. One member of our staff is even working towards the Master of Wine, known as one of the world’s most difficult exams. We love to share our knowledge, and also run The Oxford Wine School, which is an accredited programme provide for the WSET, offering beginner to advanced level courses. These structured courses are complemented by our busy events calendar, comprising informal tastings, winemaker-led masterclasses as well as annual fairs and dinners. Most events take place in The Jericho Wine Rooms, a purpose-built tasting room above our Little Clarendon Street shop. Smaller, more intimate tastings take place in the historic and atmospheric cellar beneath our Turl Street Shop. The Oxford Wine Company stocks a range of over two thousand products, ranging from well-known classics to esoteric curiosities across wines, spirits and beers. Our team taste and travel extensively to make sure that each and every bottle on our shelves offers the best quality. We work hard to source wines that suit every palate and pocket. Combine this with the great service from each and every member of our team, and we think we’re onto a winning formula!

Stefano Manca is the Director of the Piano School Cambridge from September 2017, and a member of the Incorporated society of Musicians. He provides one to one private Piano Tuition & Music Theory to children and adults. Included preparation for Concerts, ABRSM & TRINITY Exams and Musical Competitions. SPECIALISED IN TEACHING CHILDREN  He has achieved the “Orff-Schulwerk” qualification in 2010 at Tor Vergata University in Rome. In recent years, this method has become very popular and relevant for helping children in the approach to music education by combining music, drama and speech into lessons that are similar to child's world of play. Thanks to this qualification, he has achieved an excellent capability in relating to children from both an emotional and musical point of view. This makes him an ideal music teacher able to make every child involved and passionate about music.   ARTISTIC CAREER    Born in Bari (Italy) in 1986; he has obtained his Bachelor of Music cum Laude in 2010 and Master of Music in Piano Solo cum Laude and Honourable Mention in 2013, both from the Conservatory of Bari (Italy). He has attended several specialization courses and master-classes in Italy, Austria and England with some of the best Italian and Foreign teachers (among them M. Somma, G. Sannicandro, E. Sarno, F. Altamura, D. Fung, E. Schumann, J. L. Wood, A. Delle Vigne) and he was always selected to perform in the final concerts. He has also attended a harpsichord master-class by M°M. Bisceglie. During the years at the Conservatory he has developed his own vast and technically complex musical repertory. Starting from "The Well-Tempered Clavier" by Bach up to Gershwin's Jazz; rising from the pillars which are Beethoven's music and Liszt music. This repertoire requires considerable technical skills and an extraordinary passion for music. He was invited to perform in piano and chamber music concerts, music lectures, music master-classes, music workshops in ITALY, UK, AUSTRIA, meeting great public acclaim. He regularly performs piano and chamber music recitals around Cambridge; most of them in colleges like Homerton, Trinity, Robinson, Clare, Girton, Newnhouse College. He regularly performs also at the Church of Our Lady and English Martyrs in solo and chamber music concerts. The piano course 2022/23 is both "online" and "in person"  * The students can play on a Roland FP-30 Digital Piano / an Hellas upright Piano / a Digital Grand Piano Yamaha CLP-765 * Parents will be informed about child's progress via email once a term  * During the year the School will organize “end of term concerts” (Christmas, Spring and Summer); students will have the opportunity to perform in front of parents and friends to show their achievements * Le Petit Concert:  It's a series of monthly concerts. No more than 6 students at the time. A perfect opportunity for students to perform in front of an audience. A good training in preparation of exams or music competition. And a good way for parents to check on their children's progress.
