It has always held a fascination for me and exploring the history, techniques and examples of embroidery from around the world has been a joy as I have learned more and more about this extraordinary craft. As well as Day Classes, the Certificate and Diploma, Summer Intensive Certificate and the Degree modules at Hampton Court Palace, I have taught at the Victoria and Albert Museum, The British Library and The Royal Free Hospital. Currently I have a studio at Lancaster Castle though I spend a lot of my time teaching and embroidering elsewhere. I run workshops and teach classes for the RSN, at Hampton Court and in Lancaster. Recently I've taught at The Brewery Arts in Kendal; Swallows and Artisans, Coniston; Farfield Mill Sedbergh; and Cumbria's Museum of Military Life in Carlisle to name a few. I also run Embroidery Groups in Kendal and Lancaster. Alongside that I continue to exhibit, recently I've curated exhibitions at Farfield Mill, at Cumbria's Museum of Military Life in Carlisle, and Lancaster Castle. And I found time to do online courses for the RSN and for the School of Stitched Textile, host a holiday for Colouricious and talks for embroidery groups. During Covid I've also taught and tutored online. When I'm not busy with all this I love undertaking renovations, and have done work ranging from samplers to a Shabraque for the Parachute Regiment's pony. This versatility came in handy working as an expert with the BBC One Programme The Repair Shop. It's busy but great fun.

We are a community interest company called Choose Nature CIC with our site being located adjacent to the Wheal Martyn Clay Works, Carthew, mid-Cornwall. We aim to broaden the accessibility and inclusivity of outdoor learning opportunities and therapeutic support in nature. Mission statement: ‘Choose Nature CIC works to increase the wellbeing of individuals, communities and the environment by inspiring life long learning and care. Our calm enriching outdoor spaces are emotionally grounding and cultivate a strong relationship with nature’. We are continuing to restore and develop the site. It has so many exciting areas including gardening spaces, wooded areas, wildlife ponds, orchard, classroom, and poly tunnels. We currently have our weekly ‘Mamas in Nature’ group (supporting new mums and babies as transition into parenthood), ‘Making Tracks’ group (supporting young people with additional needs) and different volunteering opportunities as we establish a volunteer programme. Air Rifle shooting in the heart of West LondonWelcome to West London Rangers Air Rifle Club website. We are an air rifle and air pistol club for those over 18 years of age only, who wish to shoot non-FAC air guns. We shoot ‘knock-down’ metal targets in the Hunter Field Target (HFT) discipline and meet on alternate Sundays throughout the year, plus some extra dates in the summer. The club has a dedicated pistol range, three rifle practice ranges and a nice wooded area for HFT competitions and practice days. We also love to indulge our passion for vintage rifles and pistols (both modern and vintage) with many members bringing their kit down and reminding us all how these shooting sports first came to life. Sometimes its just for fun and sometimes we get a bit more competitive but it is certainly an enjoyable and growing element of the club. We offer a limited number of supervised sessions for “newbies” or “semi-experienced” shooters and can hire our Air Arms S400 (PCP) or the Gamo GX40 (PCP) or the Weihrauch HW97K (Springer) rifle for a very reasonable £10 per day for those without guns who wish to try their hand before taking a host of advice as to which kit to buy! Our goal is to provide a safe environment to promote the sport of air rifle and air pistol shooting. New members, both experienced or new to the sport, are welcome. Hi I'm Hem, the founder of Self Love Self Care System I am an angel connector that can help you to tap into your spiritual gifts, I teach and love yoga and I am also a healer too. I am on a mission to help people to heal themselves by understanding and incorporating love and care into their lives by using a whole host of tools that I have accumulated over my life. Over the years I have created a great deal of change in my own life and this has inspired me to share what I have learnt. A huge turning point in my life drew me towards coaching and using self love healing and angel connecetions/readings as a modality to create a fantastic life. My own metamorphosis was created by a deep understanding of pain that hit me when my life fell apart and my relationship pushed me to face up to every decision that I had ever made. In 2020 when the world was tumbling around all our ears, I decided to train to be yoga teacher, I love yoga. I believe that it helps us to heal, integrate and bring more love into our lives. This then helps us to understand who we are. I have been meditating since 11 years old and trained to teach this during my Reiki training and then again in my yoga training. I love the spiritual side of life, I am also fascinated by science. When I am not on a journey to heal and love...I adore reading, yoga, going on holidays, studying and having fun with lovely people.

Baby Week is a registered charity and aims to bring sectors and services together to promote the best start in life. The initiative was inspired by Brazil’s ‘Semana do Bebe’ (UNICEF 2010), following a visit to the country by Churchill Fellow Lucy Potter. Leeds hosted the first English speaking Baby Week in 2016 and since has had interest from several other towns and cities wanting to host their own celebrations. Since Baby Week became a registered charity, Bradford, Hull, Wakefield, Cheshire and Merseyside have organised their very own take on Baby Week Leeds. In 2019, we were nominated and came in second place as charity of the year by The British Journal of Midwifery Practice Awards (BJM). Over the past six years, hundreds of citywide events have been held with thousands of attendees including parents, expectant parents, practitioners and professionals , and of course babies! Each city hosting the week has the opportunity to celebrate and bring together the work of maternity and early years services, helping to raise awareness of the critical developmental growth stages and a real focus on the 1001 days in order to give every baby the best start in life. Baby Week is organised with Child Friendly Leeds with partnerships involving NHS Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Leeds Dads, Public Health, Mumbler, and many more partners across all sectors. To mark the 5 years in 2020, Baby Week Leeds focussed on five of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a focus over the next few years: Good Health and Wellbeing, Reduced Inequality, Sustainable cities and communities, Climate action and No Poverty.
