About STOP STOP provides world-class teaching in all aspects of the Theatre of the Oppressed (TO), for people who want to incorporate it into their work, whether your background is activism, development, theatre, community, public or social sectors. Building on years of courses led by Augusto Boal and Adrian Jackson, STOP will be the first London organisation exclusively dedicated to the teaching of all aspects of TO. The emphasis will always be on the practice, with a deep grounding in the theory. STOP Co-founder Adrian Jackson enjoyed a close relationship with Augusto Boal during his lifetime. He translated five of Boal’s books into English and collaborated with him on many occasions. Sadly Augusto died in 2009 but his work lives on, and grows and multiplies, through teaching and development. Adrian founded Cardboard Citizens, a trailblazing organisation which used TO with homeless people and migrants for over 30 years. He will lead and oversee STOP courses open to all and with input from leading TO practitioners from all over the world. In our pilot season in autumn / winter 2022, Courses will include intensive training in Forum Theatre, the Rainbow of Desires and TO Jokering (Facilitation). We will also host one international TO practitioner to share their practice with the UK TO community.

The idea of Prikli Pear was launched in 2020 during the lockdown by Creative Director and Founder, Jessica Purdie. This is when the social media and web domains were secured and the idea began taking shape. Jess worked full-time in the London PR industry whilst side-hustling on her brand idea. It wasn’t until September 2021 that Jess decided to move away from London and go full-time with her brand. This was a huge plunge into the unknown but Jess was sure that it was going to work out. Jess started with one-off knitwear pieces and accessories, gradually building products to see what worked and what didn’t. It was the only way to start without investment backing. During the winter months of 2021, Jess has received a few alteration requests from locals in the surrounding area of Lincoln and began to take on more and more. It got to the point where this overtook the clothing designs and this is where Prikli Pear’s Alterations service was born. Now a very popular service in the Lincolnshire community where individuals (men, women and children) can get their clothing repaired or altered, including occasional wear such as wedding dresses and suits! Due to popular demand, Jess began to host workshops around Lincolnshire, educating people how to fix their own clothing and create their own knitwear and crochet pieces. All workshops can be found on our events page. The name ‘Prikli Pear’ came from a nickname given to Jess during her early education… A ‘Prikli Pear’ is someone who may come across being a little unaffectionate as Jess is very sensitive to people’s vibes that they give off. No one wants to hug a negative nancey and especially Jess who keeps her aura in positive form. Whether you are affectionate or not, Prikli Pear pride itself on creating handmade clothing that tells a story and holds the personality behind the manufacturing. We aim to tell the back story of the creators by displaying WHO made the clothes and how long it took to make them. We shy away from the world of fakery and ensure we manifest true communications for our customers and our team. Prikli Pear’s style holds ‘tongue n’ cheek’ bold, graphic and colourful statement prints, knits & embroidered pieces, classic to the style of Jessica Purdie’s art! I’m sad to say that this year [2014] was the last time VESL will be sending volunteers abroad. We have had an amazing 11 years working with some extremely hard-working people on projects I genuinely believe were worthwhile and made a difference to the local communities. I would like to thank all the past volunteers and coordinators, host families, in-country managers and fellow trustees, and most of all our two programme directors who formed VESL and kept it going through thick and thin – Ian Livingstone and Tom Harrison. Our hope is to develop a new funding model for VESL with an aim to return in 2015 as an educational grant-giving body – watch this space for more details. We are also hoping to arrange a reunion for all volunteers who have worked on VESL projects since 2003. In the meantime, we would love to hear how VESL has made a difference in your lives and what experiences you had in Thailand, India, and the place where it all began, Sri Lanka and welcome posts on the VESL facebook page.

We have been bringing German students to Kent since 1988. - We organise educational visits for German schools and also for individual students (usually 4-14 nights). - We offer student exchange programmes in the Lower Sixth form, for young people from Germany in Britain and for young people from Britain in Germany (usually 4-16 weeks). We currently DO NOT offer English language courses. We are currently looking for welcoming families to host German students visiting Medway and the surrounding area. Can you provide a home to language students? Be their support and guidance while you share some British culture with them! The students have a full programme of lessons, activities and excursions. Our girls and boys are aged 11 to 18 and usually stay in Kent for three nights, a week or two weeks. We happily listen to your preferences Requirements - A spare room for your guests - Willingness to treat students as a member of your family - All hosts will need to be DBS checked (we can do this free of charge)

Hello! My name is Stuart - I'm a fun painter and art teacher. I run art classes in and around Bournemouth and the New Forest area. I would like to share some of my artistic tricks of the trade and interesting art history anecdotes with you through some very informal relaxed unpretentious bit of a laugh art evenings - my main purpose in doing art is to enjoy it, and "celebrate the wonkyness" that might just so happen to pop up in our paintings along the way! I've been running art classes for years in a whole host of settings from day centres to wedding caricatures to schools to classes in pubs and restaurants to competition "paint off" nights, hen nights, stag doo's, and much much more (get in contact with me if you want to book me for an event or private party!). I hope to find a great group of people and teach them some of my passions - and listen to yours and find interesting inspiration to get your bushes of genius delighting in dancing dynamic colours before our eyes!!!

Now in its 12th year Engage Renfrewshire support local organisations to be well managed, well resourced, well represented and well connected. We support social enterprises, community development trusts, charitable groups, mutual aid groups and more. We help groups to build capacity and to be safe, by providing information, advice and training for everything from charitable structures to funding. We have a comprehensive volunteering service. We support volunteer involving organisations with recruitment and volunteer support, and work with individuals to find them rewarding and uplifting volunteer opportunities. Our financial services social enterprise, Engage Finance, offers payroll, HR and financial services to individuals and organisations in Renfrewshire and beyond. Our space in Ferguslie Park is a community hub where we host training and networking opportunities as well as hosting other third sector organisations and charities. We are part of local community planning and actively support collaborative working with the public and private sectors to ensure that people and services are working together, in the most effective way possible. We support and advise many community agendas across Renfrewshire including Renfrewshire’s Health and Social Care Partnership, Local Employability Partnership, Future Paisley, RenSEN (Renfrewshire Social Enterprise Network), and Renfrewshire’s Youth Work Network.
