Our purpose built premises offer comfortable and relaxed surroundings with a combined waiting area where parents can sit in with their children whilst lessons take place if necessary. Our guitars, instruments and audio equipment is of the highest standard as we firmly believe creating a great sound when playing is an integral part of being inspired to play more. We do however encourage our students to use their own instruments where-ever possible. In addition to our one to one personal guitar and bass lessons we are planning in the near future to offer online courses and tuition. Our subscribers will be able to follow any six string guitar and bass courses structured around the nationally recognised and acclaimed Rockschool curriculum, where students work their way through progressive grades one to eight, or tailor made courses based on an individual’s needs and interests. We will also have separate and specific beginners course to suit all ages and abilities. We (Paul and Mitch) are based in Leeds, but our tuition and lessons cover Leeds, Rothwell, Woodlesford, Castleford, Wakefield and Pontefract areas. Ambrogio McClintock – RICEY – is the unique mix of Italian and Scottish giving you an extremely passionate and unforgettable instructor whose love and passion for skiing is infectious. His ability to connect with all levels and ages of learners makes each lesson an individual and magical experience. Ricey has over 20 years teaching experience, and is qualified to the highest level (BASI International Ski Teacher Diploma – I.S.T.D). He has taught in a number of countries from Scotland to Spain, Italy to France, New Zealand to Switzerland, and beyond, and in 2004 settled in Morzine where he has been teaching since. Ricey’s passion for teaching has lead him down a number of development paths to ensure that he is the best teacher he can be. He spends the Autumn coaching ski instructors for the European Speed Test (Giant Slalom), in Saas Fee with JJC Training. As well as ski coaching he is the resident psychological coach preparing the athletes and helping them to clear their minds, focus and realise their full potential. He is a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming after developing an interest in the psychological aspect of learning & performing early on in his ski teaching career. Ricey uses a number of methods in his day to day ski teaching and coaching. He takes great interest and pleasure in seeing the transformation of clients and helping them reach places they didn’t think possible. I am never happier than when sharing my love of spinning and all things woolly. My forte is long draw spinning, although I teach all methods. I was professionally taught in 1980s and have never stopped learning and sharing my skills ever since. My new book 'Hand spinning - essential technical and creative skills', is the only one in the world that explains long draw spinning at length and in easily accessible detail. It’s fun, fast, satisfying, and the way spinning used to be done before industrial production took over. Hand spinning is not about mimicking commercial yarn; it is about creating your own unique, signature, yarn. Yarn that is fit for the purpose and bears the name of the person who made it. Yarn made in your choice of fibre, using your chosen spinning method, in colours and textures that will put joy into your life. And that is only the beginning... further joys of knitting, weaving or decoration await. However, there is no reason why spinners can't just hang up their yarn for the pure pleasure of seeing it. Unlike a framed painting though, you do more than look at yarn to admire it. You need to touch it, grasp it, dig your fingers in, smell it, feel the sensuous warmth against your face.... As I say, hand spinning transcends the commonplace - my aim is to help and inspire people to discover this for themselves. I spent the early part of my career involved with commercial projects of varying size in the UK and overseas. More recently, I had the opportunity to indulge my true passion for old buildings whilst working with Donald Insall and Associates in the Chester and Shrewsbury branches. I relish the challenge of problem solving involved with manipulating existing buildings to accept new uses and love to see old buildings sitting harmoniously alongside modern extensions. Since then I have had the pleasure of working solely in the domestic sector and have a real passion for bringing well designed domestic projects to life. I enjoy delivering bespoke architectural solutions to smaller scale projects where I can provide the care and attention required to make a house a home. There is real joy in taking a Client through the design and build process to realise their dream home. My real ‘joie de vivre’ are transformative projects that look at the whole house to make the rooms and spaces flow and reveal a beautiful home where there may have stood an uninspiring building. I like to be as frugal with my Client’s budgets as possible and believe that good design shouldn’t cost a fortune. I hope that the projects I have show-cased on my website bring you inspiration for your own ongoing projects or perhaps confidence to start your own home transformation. I feel empowered by what I do and get so much joy from creating custom pleasure tools for clients that I decided to share the experience and give others the opportunity to create something fun, unique and really personal. My workshops are rewarding experience; they nurture playfulness, creativity and connection with ourselves and others. Yes, we’re putting enamel decals on porcelain sex toys but these workshops are so much more than the sum of their parts. They push people’s boundaries and challenge preconceptions in a gentle, fun, and creative way, encouraging a healthy attitude toward sexuality and ownership over our own pleasure. What to expect. A warm, welcoming atmosphere. Because we use a range of pre-printed enamel decals, no artistic ability is required. Spaces are limited but everyone is welcome regardless of artistic ability. I don't specify that all the workshops are women only but that tends to be the case. The workshop lasts around 3.5 hours and once decorated, the handmade dildo needs to dry for 24 - 48 hours before being enamel fired and shipped in the post. It’s amazing to see what people create with the same resources; there is always so much diversity and it's wonderful to see my dildos embellished with your creative designs. Prosecco, light refreshments and treats and return postage are included in the workshop fee. Studio vibes. During the workshops, conversations amble from the intimate, to playful, emotional, insightful, and uplifting; everyone who attends has a different story and fresh perspective. It’s humbling to share the afternoon with so many inspiring women (and sometimes men!) creating together. One of my past participants said that it was like therapy for her and I guess it is for all of us in some way. Every person leaves feeling like they've formed a connection with each other and some even stay in touch after the session - it’s such an awesome feeling to see the workshops creating a community. Hi there! I’m Karen Holmes, manager and owner of Play Academy. In the Summer of 2019, my life took a huge, exciting turn when I took on this wonderful club. Up until then, I had spent 20 years as a very happy & successful Primary School teacher. During my time as a teacher, I had the pleasure of working with many, many children across the primary age range. I also trained as a student mentor and worked alongside trainee teachers supporting & developing practice. In addition to this I was also responsible for the PSHE curriculum across the whole school, an area I am still massively passionate about. Whilst building my career as an educator, I was also bringing up my two gorgeous sons Toby & Zach. Because I was juggling being a mum with being a teacher, I fully understand the desire parents have for quality wrap around care for children; it’s something my husband and I accessed for our two lovely boys during their primary years. As my career progressed and opportunities were being put in front of me, I paused for a bit and realised that teaching was no longer for me. I was spending less and less time doing the things that had steered me into teaching in the first place; planning, creating & facilitating new and fun quality experiences for children. I wanted to get back to just having ‘fun’ with little people, blowing bubbles, building dens, playing boards games, enjoying the outdoors and most of all…….laughing! To allow children a comfortable, home from home space to practise being good citizens, develop key life skills and master the art of a two way conversation.
