Government College, Hisar is a premier higher education institution of Government of Haryana. It is a prestigious college established in 1950 and has continuously been maintaining its heritage of providing quality education to students since then. A dedicated, scholarly and hardworking team of about two hundred teachers assisted by committed and industrious sixty members of non teaching staff is the mainstay of the college. The spacious classrooms with necessary teaching aids and the good network of well equipped laboratories are instrumental in imparting quality education to students. There is a separate block of Library within the main building consisting of well stocked two storied book space, a well equipped E-Resource Center and an extended reading lounge. The large eight acre multipurpose sport ground, the grounds for handball, basketball and badminton, the open gym and the facility of wrestling and boxing mats are the part of college sports infrastructure. The well furnished auditorium with good audio-visual facility provides ready arrangements for organization and rehearsal of different events. Other support facilities in the college include a well equipped Conference-cum-Activity Room, two permanent open stages, a Girls’ Hostel with the facility of mess, gym and recreational room and a modest Canteen. About Us The Scottish Universities’ International Summer School (SUISS) offers an intense, challenging and diverse programme of study that takes place annually during the months of July and August in Edinburgh, the world’s first UNESCO City of Literature. We offer three courses in Text and Context: British and Irish Literature from 1900 to the Present, one course in Creative Writing, and one course in Contemporary British and Irish Theatre and Performance. Our literature courses offer extensive examination of Modernism, Contemporary Literature and Scottish Literature, while our Creative Writing course allows students to develop their personal writing portfolios. The Theatre and Performance course, which explores both theoretical and performative approaches to drama, coincides with the Edinburgh International Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and is delivered in partnership with the Scottish Playwrights’ Studio. We are located at the University of Edinburgh, and run by a team of hard-working individuals, led by the Administrator and Co-Directors. This core team, along with our advisory committee, oversees the lecture programme and management of the summer school each year. In the summer, we employ volunteer student hosts, who are SUISS graduates themselves. They are on hand to address the needs and concerns of our visiting students. Our very talented tutors, who are usually in the process of completing a PhD in a literature related field, instruct the seminars. Around 4 million people visit Edinburgh every year, many of them for the Edinburgh International Book Festival in August – the largest public celebration of the written word in the world – but many to explore the literary city and all it has to offer the book lover. Edinburgh is an acclaimed centre of learning. The National Library of Scotland (NLS) is a copyright library, and holds a copy of every book published in the United Kingdom. Hi, I'm Beth. I’m a Speech and Language Therapist from Essex, UK. I'm a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, from the UK, with extensive experience working with children with speech, language and communication needs in a range of settings including schools, preschools and clinics. I'm mum to two primary school-aged children, one of whom has special needs. I also provide a regular service to a number of schools in my local geographical area. I have a master’s degree in Health and Human Sciences (MSc), qualifying as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2009. My undergraduate degree (BA Hons) is in Linguistics and Spanish. I’m registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, the Health and Care Professionals Council and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). I have been the chair of my local ASLTIP group for a number of years, organising regular meetings and suporting a large group of 18 members covering a range of clinical specialisms. I’ve worked with lots of practitioners and staff in schools and preschools throughout my career and I've provided a lot of information, advice, training and support for a variety of Speech and Language topics. As well as training education staff, I also deliver seminars as a guest lecturer to Speech and Language Therapy Students at the University of Essex. These cover a range of topics, including service provision, speech sounds, stammering, vocabulary and word finding, assessment and intervention. Scalpel is the University of Manchester’s Surgical Society and a partner of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. As a society, we aim to create and foster an interest in surgery for medical students through regular lectures, workshops, and our highly-regarded annual conference. Scalpel was originally formed in 2001, but it was not until 2006 that a core group of Manchester medical students re-formed the society under guidance from the Royal College of Surgeons, creating Scalpel as we know it today. Since this re-invention, Scalpel has gone from strength to strength to become the great society it is today with over 600 members. As an undergraduate surgical society, Scalpel has three key aims: To organise events that showcase surgery and all of its specialties, To excite and enthuse students about surgery, To provide students who are interested in surgery with relevant careers information and advice. We hope to achieve these aims by organising talks and workshops delivered by charismatic surgeons from each and every surgical specialty. We want to get students excited about surgery early in their medical training on so that they can start to truly consider whether surgery is for them. With competition for surgical jobs becoming more and more fierce, students are being forced to consider their career options earlier than ever before. Students hoping for a career in surgery, therefore, must start to think about how to make themselves more competitive. Scalpel hopes to help these students by organising surgical careers events and by providing students with surgical role models. Dyslexia Care Foundation was established by Lola Oluwasuyi who has lived with Dyslexia throughout her life. Despite the difficulties of experiencing this condition firsthand, Lola has been hugely appreciative of the educational support that she has received over the years which has helped her to excel in her education, including successfully achieving her undergraduate degree. She is now studying for her Master’s degree. Lola’s experience demonstrates that with the right support, people with Dyslexia can thrive and reach the same academic heights as anybody else in life. That is why she established Dyslexia Care Foundation with the motto ‘Fair Learning Opportunities’ to provide support and guidance to others. Our work Working throughout the UK we are dedicated to providing a range of services to support people who have experience of Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD or Dyscalculia. Our main objective is to provide guidance on how to access quality educational opportunities and we offer assistance to people from the age of 7 onwards.
