A brainchild of Finn and Toffy, we’re a contemporary, socio-aware group of performers/producers who fuse circus arts with collaborative imagination (Toffy and Finn’s peerless chemistry) to create versatile, fully immersive, and visually enriching performance arts experiences for the world’s audiences. We entangle our audiences, up-close and personal, drawing them into a world where they live only for the present glorious moments. We live in complex times, an era in history poised to stretch the thirst for unflinchingly humanity-driven art to its full elastic limits. In our bold bid to provide answers, one common thread you’re odds-on to spot throughout our circus art performances is that human connectedness — or rootedness (if you will) — within communities that we celebrate. The sheer vitality we inspire and the spellbinding fabric of fragility we weave our audience into — all by the intricately knitted universe of the circus. Without question, the circus, for us, is never just about a ‘13-meter-diameter’ or ‘42-foot ring’ mastery. That would be just scratching the surface. At its heart, the circus has always incorporated a fusion of skill and soul—clusters upon clusters of exceptional human skills and artful mobility to tickle the human fancy. What sets us apart, though, is how we bring these human elements together. The spatial (on stage) and social (offstage) recognition we take to new heights to gratify, entertain, and inspire collective progress as humans. Reading is complex. It requires our brains to connect letters to sounds, put those sounds in the right order, and pull the words together into sentences and paragraphs we can read and comprehend. People with dyslexia have trouble matching the letters they see on the page with the sounds those letters and combinations of letters make. And when they have trouble with that step, all the other steps are harder. Dyslexic children and adults struggle to read fluently, spell words correctly and learn a second language, among other challenges. But these difficulties have no connection to their overall intelligence. In fact, dyslexia is an unexpected difficulty in reading in an individual who has the intelligence to be a much better reader. While people with dyslexia are slow readers, they often, paradoxically, are very fast and creative thinkers with strong reasoning abilities. Dyslexia is also very common, affecting 20 percent of the population and representing 80– 90 percent of all those with learning disabilities. Scientific research shows differences in brain connectivity between dyslexic and typical reading children, providing a neurological basis for why reading fluently is a struggle for those with dyslexia. Dyslexia can’t be “cured” – it is lifelong. But with the right supports, dyslexic individuals can become highly successful students and adults.

My name is Jen Barnes and I have been teaching Swimming since 2014. I love teaching children to swim and I leave every lesson with a smile because it really does bring me joy. Before having my own family, I worked in the Early Years sector which has given me a broader understanding of Child Development which I have applied to all the classes I teach. I believe that being in the water is one of the best ways to help your child grow in confidence. It is a sensory experience that helps develop co-ordination, brain connections, balance and is one of life's most necessary safety skills. Some experiences I have had in my life that were only possible because I can swim are: I have played Water Polo for Western Australia I am confident in my body because it is strong - and you have no other choice when you work in a swimming costume! I have been White Water Rafting in Indonesia I have surfed in Hawaii I have been swimming with Whalesharks on the Ningaloo Reef - one of the best experiences of my life! I truly love being in the water and I hope to share that passion with you in the pool!

Jenni's work incorporating a bigger sense of the abstract, self expression and a little bit of the landscape. The abstract comes from love of the outdoors, the sea, her Cornish upbringing and Jenni’s dyslexic tendencies. With being so visual I carry this with me and find a need to put it somewhere which is down in a creative way.Jenni often finishes her work with thicker heavier lines and this is a nod towards the line and text she finds so difficult to make sense of when reading. Jenni sees in pictures and finds that gathering information from her surrounding is easy to implement into her painting. The narrative here explains that colours are the confusion, often when its overwhelmingly busy and ‘noisy’. Jenni declares ‘it is often misunderstood, the amount of brain power needed to stay focused, it is exhausting, art is natural to me and defuses that struggle and expectation of something that comes easy to others, reading. At other times Jenni likes to take her work right back to her routes and her childhood experiences. Her memories in colour, source materials from trips out, family time and conversation. Often starting two or three pieces are a time, mainly works in acrylics applying oil bar drawings on top of space and colour.
