Welcome to Haydock Connect Welcome to Haydock Connect: The last couple of years have been the most difficult for many in a life time. As a charitable training organization we took the difficult decision to close and remain closed to protect the health of both staff and students. ...Where do we go from here? At the time of writing, the Omicron variant is starting to affect many countries including the UK. We are hopeful that the outcome will not be as devastating or as dangerous to our health as previous outbreaks. With this in mind we are planning to start offering introductory courses in the very near future. Taking into consideration the difficulties that our school leavers have experienced over these last couple of years we have decided to lower the age of opportunity to learn to 16years upwards. What do we offer? We are a City & Guilds authorised training centre but at this time we will be offering introductory courses to domestic electrical installations, renewal energy, web design and basic car maintenance. By the end of the course you will have a very good idea just what is involved and if it would be the kind of career you would enjoy. We are hoping to re-open in March 2022 and so keep checking our web site for more information regarding the exact date we will be starting and application forms or simply to give us a call. Who We Are Enable (Sheffield) is a charity based training organisation for people with disabilities. Our aim is to offer a quality care and training opportunities to meet their individual needs. Our training areas deliver themed subjects and topics relevant to suit our learner’s abilities and skills. First opening for business in 1994, with the intention to make a difference to the lives of people with disabilities in Sheffield. From the offset we have always involved our learners in the decision making process, and this is, we believe, the key to our success. Enable (Sheffield) has grown to become a well established and renown training provider for disabled adults in Sheffield, but began life in very humble beginnings. Founder Alan Finchett rented a room in a local school, for disabled adults from the area to use, initially repairing and recycling toys and bikes but gradually more activities were added to the schedules. Within a year, with more learners attending, space was getting tight so it was soon time to move to bigger premises. Skip along 8 years and demand was so great for places that work started on our purpose built building. Exactly 10 years after starting, Enable was ready to move into their new home. The centre has been designed specifically to meet the demands of disabled people, offering a bright, spacious learning place for all.

Since I was a little girl I have always enjoyed dancing and took part in all the dance activities in school. In 2007, I was introduced to Salsa and I absolutely loved it. Not only did I enjoy the social aspect of Salsa, dressing up and wearing heels, I also enjoyed losing weight and getting into shape. However the weight loss did not last long as I had problems with my digestive system and my weight just ballooned. In January 2011 I decided I wanted to change my life and lose weight. I heard a lot about Zumba Fitness® and joined a class and signed up to Slimming World to help me with my diet. After a few months I was addicted to Zumba® and in August 2011 I decided to train as a Zumba® Instructor. Shortly after qualifying I opened Zumba® classes in Barking and Goodmayes. The Zumba® Fitness workout gives you different styles of music such as Salsa, Reggaeton, Cha Cha, Merengue, Cumbria to name a few with basic dance steps that gives you a great workout while having fun and meeting new friends. To date I am a fully qualified fitness instructor, Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor and Sports Coach. I have lost 9 stone during my weight loss journey and I am now fitting into clothes that are size 10 – 8!! I feel so happy and healthy that I now want to give something back to help others get themselves started on a path to feeling healthy again.

The Venn HearmyVoice programme is a coaching and mentoring service designed to promote the development and empowerment of individuals and groups which will lead to big changes being made in the empowerment of primary school to university- level students. It will encourage participants to own their learning. It can also be tailored to suit people in the workplace, and help managers develop their leadership skills. The HearmyVoice student programme is aimed at students from 9 to 25 years old, and starts with a 32-question diagnostic survey, which is an online questionnaire, with eight possible categories, based around the outcomes. From here, the six-week intensive coaching begins, which is tailored around the results to the survey to suit the individual. Once a profile has been established, an adult coach will be assigned for the duration of the course. The HearmyVoice adult programme is designed with the adult in mind. It is aimed at workers with a view to empowerment and self-regulation in the workplace. HearmyVoice has been designed to improve individuals’ aspirations whilst also supporting self-regulation and empowerment in young people and adults. It is primarily aimed for use within the education sector, but can be tailored for use within the workplace. The programme supports organisations to improve performance processes, with the focus on finding solutions rather than reacting to problems. The six-week intensive training can be completed online or face-to-face and can be one-to-one or in larger groups or teams.
