Exam Structure The Functional Skills NCFE, Pearson Edexcel and Open Awards Qualification in Mathematics at Level 1 consist of one externally assessed assessment that comprises two sections- a non-calculator section (calculator prohibited) and a calculator section (calculator permitted).
