Who : Creative Catalyst (Scotland) CIC is a social enterprise which supports young people into Creative Careers. After establishing and running a similar two year pilot project for young creatives as part of the lead up to Perth Creative Exchange and The Famous Grouse Ideas Centre opening , founding director Helen O’Brien decided to take the model of this project forward as a social enterprise. In September 2019 we successfully received ‘Start It’ funding from Firstport, and moved into our new studio at Perth Creative Exchange in November 2019. We have just received Firstport ‘Build It’ funding to support and embed our development in 2021-22. We offer creative employability opportunities for young people who face barriers to employment and training in Perth & Kinross. This project is specifically targeted at young creative individuals who need support to develop their confidence in their creative skills and abilities, and signpost to other opportunities and experiences that will support them with next steps of a creative career. We work alongside other 16+ support agencies in Perth & Kinross who refer young people to us, and we welcome individuals and support workers to contact us directly. How: We offer work experience and mentoring opportunities with professional artists and makers who run live creative projects for us, from design and prototyping an idea, to making a final product, marketing and selling; visit shop here. These projects develop a broad spectrum of practical creative and transferable skills including using imagination, problem solving, clear communication, persistence, self discipline, collaboration and working to a deadline. We also run creative workshops and programmes for children, families and communities which offer opportunities for our young people to work alongside a lead artist to gain confidence and experience of delivering projects with different age groups.

We are Barnardo’s Healthy Minds Wiltshire, run by Barnardo’s and funded by Wiltshire Council. Barnardo’s believes in early intervention, providing support for children and young people before they face more serious mental health issues. With the right support, young people can transform their lives . Growing up is a challenge for everyone, but for some it’s more difficult than others. We offer practical and emotional support so that young people can enter adulthood with the confidence they need to achieve their full potential. We run many services across the UK, supporting young people’s emotional health and wellbeing, from one-to-one counselling to group work and schools-based programmes. This website has lots of information, practical tips and advice about supporting children and young people’s emotional wellbeing. We are here to help young people aged 5-18 registered with a GP in Wiltshire who are experiencing a range of early mental health difficulties through group work, activities in the community and counselling sessions for those young people who need more intensive support. We are also an all year round service and so our support does not stop in school holidays. We welcome referrals from young people, parents, carers and professionals. Kidz@Play is an established family business for over 30 years originating in Maynooth Co. Kildare. Kidz@Play Kilcock began in Scoil Chóca Naofa and through this, formed strong partnerships with primary schools in the area. The partnership with the Primary school is positive for children and families with many children moving on to primary school from Kidz@Play Playschool. We also operate an afterschool within the school where children can play relax and complete homework with the familiar Kidz@Play team. Kidz@Play History Evelyn developed the business originally from a home-based playschool. Through training and development as well as being the chairperson of the national organisation IPPA Evelyn developed and moved firstly to a rented unit in Maynooth and then to a full day purpose setting in Maynooth. The development of Kidz@Play Kilcock, over 8 years ago brought a unique partnership within the primary school and the service is now embedded within the Kilcock community. Evelyn holds a MA in Humanities in Early Childhood Care & Education, a BA ECEC, delivers training and lectures in the field of early childhood care and education. Evelyn also worked for the Department of Education and Skills inspecting the educational quality dimension to early years practice. Jess has a unique experience background as she came to work as a four-week-old baby with her mother as she ran the original home-based playschool. So, we can say Jess was born into the business! Jess continued to expand her knowledge by obtaining an Honours degree in Montessori Education age 3-12, gained experience in different settings, Montessori preschools and primary schools, play based playschools and primary school junior classes and successfully managed summer camps for large companies. Jess holds a MA in Education specialising in the Early Years (2019) from Maynooth University. Jess manages the Kilcock Kidz@Play service delivering both preschool and afterschool. Jess took over the helm as general manager and owner during Evelyn’s inspection period. Now together this vastly experienced mother daughter team have pooled skills and experience to form a Company that will guarantee the highest quality in the delivery of education and care in the Newtown hall site. Together with a highly qualified staff team which are experienced qualified and working in Kidz@Play for many years. Bill is chairman of The Education Partnership, which has for the past twenty years provided a truly comprehensive range of governance and compliance expertise to schools, colleges, and outdoor education activity centres. He was previously a Head Teacher of all-age boarding and day schools in the maintained and independent sectors, including those for children with complex learning and behavioural needs. Bill works with proprietors and Head Teachers in preparation for and following up inspections by Ofsted (Education and Social Care) and ISI (Regulatory Compliance and Education Quality). His expertise in this area covers NMS, RSS, dual registration, initial registration, final registration and material change. Bill also works with schools judged as â€œinadequate” by Ofsted or â€œunsatisfactoryâ€ by ISI, helping them to achieve â€œgoodâ€, â€œoutstandingâ€ and â€œexcellentâ€ Ofsted or ISI outcomes. Bill is approached by an increasing number of proprietors, chairs of trustees and headteachers, who find themselves in challenging circumstances. This includes schools that have received a warning notice from the Department for Education due to their failure to meet the Independent School Standards Regulations (ISSR) and/or the National Minimum Standards (NMS) for boarding and residential special schools. Consistently, these schools see improvements at subsequent inspections.
