Entry Requirement This Functional Skills Entry Level 1 English qualification is available to all students of all academic backgrounds; no experience or previous qualifications are required. Exam Structure The Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills Qualification in English at Entry Level 1 comprises a writing and reading assessment that is externally set, internally graded, and externally verified by the exam body. The listening and speaking assessment is, however, internally set. Your exam results will be forwarded to the awarding body’s internal verifier once you finish the exam. The writing and reading assessment is available as paper-based for which you will be required to appear for the exam at our designated office in London or Swindon on the exam day.
