Angie Rigard is the new Director of Charnwood Tutors, Loughborough. She has been involved in education for twenty years both in the UK and in international schools in Shanghai, Dubai and Hong Kong, respectively. Angie has taught GCSE English Language and Literature, as well as A Level English Literature and Media Studies. Throughout her time in schools, she has been Head of English and Head of Year, as well as playing key roles in mentoring students during the transition from Primary to Secondary school, curriculum design and whole school SEN policy. Angie is also an experienced BACP Registered Integrative Psychotherapist trained in Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Existentialist, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Attachment and CBT modes of therapy. My journey began over 25 years ago when I volunteered for SSAFA supporting families within the military and then delivered alternative education programmes to children aged 9-16. What is CCPE? CCPE is a well-established, charitable organisation providing counselling and psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, adolescents, children and families through a strong, diverse community of over 100 counsellors and psychotherapists practising at the centre. CCPE also runs a range of accredited professional counselling and psychotherapy training programmes with a transpersonal and integrative orientation. including Fundamental Skills, Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (leading to accreditation as a psychotherapist) and two MA courses (child, adolescent and family therapy and a research masters both validated by The University of Northampton). There are also post-graduate trainings in dreamwork, couple counselling and supervision. In addition there is always a rich variety of continuing professional development on offer. CCPE Staff 100 counsellors and psychotherapists work at the CCPE, with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The Building Beauchamp Lodge is CCPE's home and the place where a rich variety of people come to work and meet. It is a seven storey Regency building situated on the bank of the Grand Union Canal at Little Venice. The building has been used for a variety of purposes since its construction in 1853 and has had some illustrious residents including the writer Katherine Mansfield, and Napoleon III. In the last century it has mainly been used for charitable purposes.

SCC counsellors come from a range of different trainings and incorporate a variety of counselling models including psychodynamic, person-centred, integrative and humanistic. To give counselling the best chance of working the sessions need to be weekly. The counselling session lasts 50 minutes. Counselling can be time limited 6 – 12 sessions, or over a longer period of time depending on requirement, this will be discussed more fully at your initial consultation

I have experience of working with people who are vulnerable, isolated and are affected by common mental health problems. Hi, I’m Ruta. I’m passionate about helping my fellow humans to step into their power and embrace the world that you came here to experience. This work is very close to my heart. In my late 20s, I experienced a life changing crisis. It brought me to this transformational work and changed the course of my life. I was working hard to achieve my dream of becoming secure and to have a stable status and position in my life. Then, I got clinical depression that took me years to overcome. I wanted to know what was wrong with me, so I started to read about psychology, spirituality and emotional wellbeing. I found that I had a deep interest in the internal workings of the mind. I started a counselling course. Then I completed a post-graduate level certification at the University of Sussex. I studied in the system and field of traditional psychology. And I’ve started to see gaps and limitations in it. The more I seen it, the more I preferred alternative approaches, tools, and techniques. By working with people, I saw how at the root of every emotional block or problem, there is an unresolved trauma. I started to see how we, our parents, and our children have been and are still experiencing trauma. Sometimes by simple everyday interactions with other people. The problem is that none of them (us) were taught how to take care and nurture our emotional selves. Also, to that realisation, I noticed that there is unresolved trauma wherever you look. And that’s how integrative trauma models and techniques became the basis to all work that I do. That and re-education for emotional wellbeing.
