Positive Psychology Training was founded by Miriam Akhtar MAPP in 2010 to put positive psychology into practice and has become one of the leading providers of positive psychology training and coaching in the UK. Our clients range across the business and not-for-profit sectors along with social enterprises and include healthcare, financial services, the creative industries, education, green business, environment, defence, law and the media. As we move into our second decade the focus is on how positive psychology can help people perform at their best, help businesses to grow and provide a scientifically-based solution to many of the challenges that organisations face. We also run short, open courses combining the essential knowledge and practical tools of positive psychology in a format that works for busy lives. These courses went online during the pandemic. The Positive Psychology Masterclass has an introductory course based on the PERMA model and an advanced course on positive psychology at work. The Positive Psychology Foundations is now available to buy as a package with recorded webinars and other resources.

About Us The Heart of Hove Meeting Rooms - Designed to be inclusive not exclusive Welcome. This website is all about both the bright and lovely meeting rooms available for hire, and also the events that we will put on at these rooms. All our events are intended to try and help people to escape the ordinary and inspire them to create an even better life for themselves. We will be hosting a wide variety of different events from motivational workshops, to discovering a new hobby, to business brainstorming and everything in between! There is so much hardship, anxiety and loneliness in the world that where possible we would love to make a difference. All workshops are kept small to try and foster a feeling of security and closeness between our attendees. A lot of the groups will be regular ones where people can get to know each other and build a sense of community. In addition to our workshops we will also put on various charity events to help those in need, the first one being a support group for Ukrainian people locally. All the events are actual get togethers rather than online because there really is nothing quite like being physically in a room together to help develop trust, bonds and friendships. If you feel shy or nervous no problem at all. There’s no obligation to say anything unless or until you feel ready. If you feel nervous about coming in then just let me know and I will walk in with you.

Both of us are passionate about Australian quilting, sewing patterns and Cottage Garden hand dyed embroidery threads. We have over 1000 patchwork, quilting and sewing patterns in stock and our range is still growing! We love that some of the Australian quilt and sewing pattern designers also design fabric too. We are very proud to maintain a 100% pass rate in all our student's instrumental and vocal music exams making us Edinburgh's favourite music school for private music lessons. One - to - one tuition Lessons are available for a range of instruments including voice, piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, recorder and drums. We offer one to one private lessons in our studio in Meadowbank or online lessons. Groups We offer a range of music group activities including our Baby music groups (for ages 0-5), youth singing groups, performance coaching workshops and summer school music groups. With the support of our centre partners, courses are now delivered closer to learners' vicinity within their community. They also have the opportunity to study from home via our online E-portfolio assessment system. On completion, all our learners supported with progression route into further education or employment, where we offer them workshop activities on their CV writing, confidence building and job interviews techniques. General feedback from stakeholders i.e learners, employers, staff and funders have been so encouraging, in seeing learners achieving their aims. Our main aim is to increase our provisions to the hard to reach target group in the country and to secure direct funding.
