Each trainee can print off their certificate on completion of the inbuilt assessment. The cloud based version of the courses use EasiLearning’s Train and TrackTM system, which gives management a unique weblink so they can track which trainees have passed the assessment and on what date together with a score where this is appropriate. No specialist IT infrastructure is required to make this version of the course work – commission to delivery is usually less than 2 weeks! Some customers already have an LMS and may choose either SCORM 1.2 or 1.3 version to have tracking and reporting done by the LMS. In either Web or SCORM versions, trainee completion data is available to be exported into e-personnel systems. We offer special versions for NHS England nLMS/OLM.

Landmarks Specialist College

London

Landmarks started to offer day services and post-16 education in March 1995, where the curriculum was largely practical and land-based, working in farm buildings in Creswell, Derbyshire. Since that time Landmarks has grown and developed its educational offer so that by the time of writing this welcome, Landmarks supports over 150 post-16 and day service Learners, all of whom learn a variety of essential life skills from our five sites located across the East Midlands and South Yorkshire. We have changed our curriculum from purely land and animal-based to include several vocational subjects such as; hospitality, catering, cookery, retail, administration and labouring. These additional subjects support our learners to make informed choices about the type of vocations they would like to follow. College life at Landmarks involves being taught in practical, real-life situations, whilst being supported by highly trained and experienced staff who are experts in working with learners with additional needs. It is important for me, as it is for my team, that whilst learners are with us, they focus on developing knowledge, skills and behaviour that makes a real difference to their lives. I hope from reading the case studies and outcomes featured within this website, you can see what difference that focus has made to our learners’ lives. I am extremely proud of all our learners’ achievements, either becoming more independent so that they can attend activities they enjoy or securing employment for the first time in their lives. Indeed, we are so keen to support our learners that when you leave Landmarks, should you need support to maintain employment or seek advice you can contact our dedicated ‘After College, Aftercare’ team. I do trust that you will enjoy exploring our website and getting to know us a little better. Of course, it is only by visiting Landmarks that you will truly get a feel for the place. Whilst we run regular open events, please feel free to contact our learner recruitment team, who can organise a visit just for you, so you get a perfect opportunity to ask all the questions you have about learning at Landmarks. Also, we are always keen to hear from like-minded colleagues from other institutions, or from those interested in working with us in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to know more.

Kemble Training

Flying Training All flying undertaken by Instructors at Kemble Flying Club is categorised as training, whether it is a taster lesson or Trial Flight, a normal flying lesson, or one of our other experiences like ‘Pilot for a Day’. Whatever type of experience you decide to take with us there is a good deal of useful information for first time ‘pilots’ on the Trial Flight page. If this is appropriate for you please have a look here as I would like to think most of your questions will be answered. All flying training referred to can be taken in fixedwing or the flexwing aircraft. (See: Our Aircraft) Introduction Flying training is one of the most important aspects of what we do here at Kemble Flying Club. Whether you come to see us for a one off experience, for a series of training flights, or to complete a pilot’s licence we can, without hesitation, say this will be a rewarding, sometimes challenging, and, even a life changing experience! Of course some people come to us for conversion training, refresher training (we could call that advanced training) and for flying instructor courses. There is a magic about flying small aircraft, a thrill, it’s like we have cheated gravity to play in the sky. We have read and seen pictures of the pioneers of flight and the first powered flights were only a little over 100 years ago! We are constantly exhilarated by the flying experience, the feelings of buoyancy of the air, the spectacle of different cloud shapes and patterns and colours as the light dances around us. And, the views of the landscape, the masses of open spaces, woodlands, hills and rivers. From Kemble we only have to be upwards of 1,000ft above ground and we can see to the Welsh mountains to the west, the Malverns, and the Cotswold plateau stretching away to the north. We can see as far as Didcott Power Station to the east and Salisbury Plain to the south. You don’t actually have to take a ride into Space to see the World is a small place! Importantly training should be fun! You will learn so much more if you are enjoying it. At the same time Safety is our utmost priority and when you are on your way to becoming a fully fledged pilot then it will take some commitment and discipline.

Northern College of Beauty and Holistic Therapies

Penelope Ody BSc MNIMH Penelope Ody is a Member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and Fellow of the Herb Society. Hello – and welcome to "Herbs at Walnut", a series of one-day courses on using herbs now in its twentieth year. I have been exploring the fascinating world of herbs for more than 40 years studying initially with the School of Phytotherapy in Kent, UK, and also at the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangzhou, China. I practised as a consultant medical herbalist in Buckinghamshire UK, for 11 years while also writing regularly about herbs and editing The Herb Society's various journals from 1988-1994. For the past 20 years I have concentrated on writing books about herbs and lecturing at various courses and summer schools - including Herbs at Walnut which I started in 2002 at my home, Walnut Cottage, in Hampshire. In 2006 these courses were featured in Meridian TV's "Country Lives" series. For most of us, herbs are familiar and readily available plants used for flavouring foods or scenting rooms. Many of them are also potent medicines ideal for using at home as alternatives to over-the-counter pharmaceutical drugs for treating a range of health problems. Our great-grandmothers would have been very familiar with home-made medicines but over the decades we have lost the everyday skill of making them. Commercially produced medicines – both orthodox and herbal – have been readily available to meet our needs. Now, thanks to changing legislation and tighter regulatory control, many of these herbal products are no longer available from chemists or health food shops, so we need to re-learn how to make these simple nostrums and to understand which are most suitable and when to use them. Courses at Walnut Cottage cover a range of herbal topics – from using herbs in cooking to making your own creams and ointments to replace those which are no longer quite so easy to find in the shops. Courses are relaxed and informal with small groups – generally no more than six – giving plenty of flexibility to explore your particular interests. I hope you find a course to meet your needs in this year's timetable. If you have suggestions for other herb courses, or would like to arrange an alternative day for a special group, then please let me know: penny@herbcourses.co.uk

We are an independent motorcycle training organisation affiliated to IAM RoadSmart. We are also an active, friendly and welcoming riders’ club. ABOUT BRISTOL ADVANCED MOTORCYCLISTS Official provider of IAM RoadSmart training in Bristol. Although we are affiliated to the IAM RoadSmart organisation, and an official provider of the RoadSmart programme, Bristol Advanced Motorcyclists is a separate organisation, with charitable status. And whilst one of our primary purposes as an organisation is to provide a coordinated training programme to motorcyclists in Bristol and the west country region, the club is also an active social hub for riders. Participation in the club’s activities isn’t mandatory, but it’s a great way to meet other like-minded riders and to continue developing your skills. Once you’ve gained sufficient experience you may even wish to progress to becoming an IAM RoadSmart Observer yourself, and of course we can guide you towards that achievement too. In addition to the monthly Super Sunday events we also arrange group ride-outs, more extended trips both in the UK and Europe, talks and other social activities. See our News & Events page for more details. Bristol blood bikes There is a close association between BAM and Freewheelers, the charitable organisation that operates the Bristol and south west region Emergency Voluntary Service (commonly known as the ‘Blood Bikes’). All of their volunteer riders must be qualified to Advanced standard and many of these have been trained by the BAM group. You can learn more about Freewheelers here: www.freewheelers.org.uk About the IAM The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) is a national charity organisation, established in 1956, dedicated to increasing road safety by improving driving standards. Both the organisation and the training programme is now known as IAM RoadSmart. RoadSmart is a national training programme for drivers and riders aimed at developing their observation and control skills. The RoadSmart training programme is delivered at regional level by volunteer groups, such as Bristol Advanced Motorcyclists (BAM), who are a designated ‘Official Provider’. All Observers are accredited by IAM RoadSmart. When you begin your training you become an Associate member. Full membership of the IAM is awarded upon successfully achieving the Advanced standard. Once this standard is achieved there are no further testing stages (unless you opt to train to be an Observer) and you become a full, lifetime member of the IAM, subject to an annual renewal fee (currently £42 per year).

Corinne's Creative Kitchen

corinne's creative kitchen

London

2021 sees Corinne's Creative Kitchen going from strenght to strength. We work with flavour in our kitchen. Our products are completely natural using the best quality local ingredients with no additives or preservatives and produced in small batches. Our spices mainly come from India. We are quite fussy about this as we try to recreate the exotic flavours, the essence of Indian home food. Indian dishes, snacks, sauces and pickles are our main products but we also supply a small selection of Thai dishes. When the pandemic hit in 2020, we decided to add an extra string to our bow by creating a completely new 2-person portion menu with an international flavour. These have been taken up very well and have brought in a new customer base. This menu changes regularly, but already there are some ‘cannot remove’ favourites. Living in The Garden of England, we are almost obliged to produce some chutneys and jams from the local fruit in the gardens around us. But, as we favour the exotic, in 2020 we started producing cordials such as Spiced Crab apple, Grape & Hibiscus and Apple & Bramble, to name a few. Our Lemon & Ginger is a MUST for your Gin! We simply do have to mention our home-made Indian Mustard and Horseradish Mustard, hand-made in small quantities that go ‘oh so well’ with roast beef and other meats. We have run cookery classes since 2008, as I love teaching people how to cook good Indian home food. Since 2020 our classes are on ZOOM and I AM LOVING IT! I can now reach so many more people. I run single classes with a theme but my mainstay is a 6-course weekly class which gives a very good grounding and covers chicken curry to fried fish, with options for using vegetables instead of meats. We continue with our delivery service to a few farm shops and directly to the public. Now in mid-2021 we are starting to cater quite regularly for small parties as everyone comes out to celebrate those special birthdays or just catching up with friends. You can find us on Faversham market on the 1st and the 3rd Saturday of every month. We hope to meet you somewhere and tantalize your taste buds with our delicious dishes.
