As an ex-English teacher in a busy secondary school and a current Guide Leader, Gemma can bring those skills into her dance and drama lessons to make them fun but purposeful. Gemma currently teaches Street, Freestyle, Musical Theatre / Drama and Ballroom / Latin classes with the support of other teachers and dance coaches. Gemma is continuing to develop her own personal portfolio whilst supporting other students and trainee teachers along their own dance pathways. Current qualifications include: Fellow with the IDTA with qualifications in Freestyle, Latin, Ballroom, Rock 'n' Roll and Musical Theatre; ABD Acrobatic Dance, IDTA Anatomy and Physiology Diploma. Emily Harris, Teacher Emily (BA Hons) joined our team in 2017 and is packed with enthusiasm. Whilst her speciality is Ballroom and Latin, she is also qualified in Freestyle and happy to help in all genres. Emily has been dancing from the tender age of 3 with experience in ballet and tap as well as the above mentioned styles and is keen to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with other dancers. Her degree in education and special needs is just another asset she brings to our academy, further enhancing our inclusivity policy. DBS checked annually and First Aid trained. Jordanne Wood, Teacher Jordanne has been dancing since she was 2 years old with experience in all theatre subjects including ballet, tap, theatre craft, modern jazz, acro gymnastics and cheerleading. She attended the Pattisons College of Performing Arts in Coventry. She soon went on to complete her IDTA professional qualifications and then went into teaching full time. She also has a young child of her own bringing her maternal instincts into class. Like many of our teachers, Jordanne is continuing to work through more IDTA dance qualifications whilst she is teaching with the aim of eventually becoming an IDTA examiner. Jordanne's current qualifications include associate with the IDTA in Freestyle, Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz; BGU level 4 in Cheerleading. DBS checked and First Aid trained. Liam Pincher, Teacher Liam began his dance journey as a contemporary dancer, but slowly moved to street dance styles the more he learned about them.This took him to study an urban dance course in London, and even to study Urban Dance in America! Over the years, he has gained experience in a variety of street dance styles including hip hop, House, popping, locking, and breaking all whilst experiencing battle culture, performance opportunities and teaching. He's always very excited to have the opportunity to share everything he's learned with fellow dancers and has already made a positive impact on many of our students. DBS checked and First Aid trained. Emily Hunt, Teacher Emily started dancing at the age of three in Ballet, Tap and Jazz, gaining medals and performing in regular shows with her sister. Progressing through medals and competitions, Emily became a finalist in the 'British Amateur Junior Modern Sequence' at the age 14. Leaving the competition world behind she began studies for her Pre-Associate exam in 2010 where she won the 'Bill Tasker Award' before proceeding on to her Associate exams where she was nominated for the 'John Dilworth Award'. Emily has a 2:1 Ba Hons degree in 'Professional Dance Teaching' from Buckinghamshire New University as well as her IDTA professional awards. Her specialism is Classical Sequence but she is also an experienced Ballroom, Latin and Freestyle teacher. DBS checked and First Aid trained. Dance Coaches We are really lucky to have a group of amazing volunteers who assist with our classes. Aged only 12-18, these girls have a fabulous rapport with our other students and can be essential in making new members feel welcome and helping less experienced dancers with steps. They all undergo First Aid Training and have DBS checks at the appropriate age.

Our time, space and resources are dedicated to supporting artistic development and community imagination, as such we are home to a thriving creative community where everyone is welcome. Our work takes place at our venue, a grade II listed textile mill in Halifax. Here you will find our art school with extensive creative production facilities and equipment, our gallery where creative practices and processes are shared and showcased as well as our artist studios, where 20 artists and creative practitioners make their work. Our work also takes place out in the community at schools and community venues, online and in peoples homes. Artworks is a community interest company so we don't work for profit. The income we generate is used to support the communities we are established to serve. Thanks to our funding partners and supporters we are able to make many of our activities free. Where we don’t receive any subsidy we make sure that access is affordable while always paying artists a fair rate.

Pate's Grammar School Foundation was set up by Richard Pate in the year 1586. He endowed his old college, Corpus Christi, Oxford, with property he had purchased, on condition that three-quarters of the income should be used by the College 'for the perpetual maintenance and foundation of a free Grammar School at Cheltenham ... and also a Hospital or Almshouse for six old poor people'. The Grammar School in Cheltenham was founded in 1574, and is now known as Pate's Grammar School. Richard Pate, "a very excellent and charitable man", was one of the most influential men in Gloucester in the sixteenth century. He was probably born in Cheltenham, son of Walter Pate and a nephew of a Richard Pate, Bishop of Worcester. He later lived in Gloucester, and is also said to have lived in Minsterworth. He owned extensive property, having purchased a great deal after surveying the possessions of the religious houses in the district, being a commissioner under Henry VIII and Edward VI. In 1541 he was admitted at Lincoln's Inn and later called to the Bar. He represented Gloucester in Parliament on a number of occasions and was Recorder of Gloucester from 1561 until his death. He died on the 29 October 1588, aged 73, and was buried in the south trancept of Gloucester Cathedral.

My experience with yoga had been lightly scattered in-between other activities throughout my life, probably becoming more prominent in my early twenties and primarily used as a form of physical exercise. I was one of those people who left before Savasana because it gave my mind too much space and time to run free - in all honestly I found it relatively torturous and uncomfortable. At this point movement was for physical gain and mental distraction - which I’m sure many people can relate to. I had experienced issues with my mental health from a very young age and in 2015 was diagnosed with BPD. During that year I had two hospital admissions for issues relating to severe self harming and substance abuse. During my time as an inpatient we were offered yoga as a form of therapy, which I utilised but could not fully hold space for at the time, although the teacher gave me hope which was enough. Upon leaving I discovered the practice of Ashtanga with my wonderful teacher Mo Still based in Aberdeenshire. The structure, asana, pranayama and power filled me and I practiced daily. I don’t want to suggest that yoga can fix all problems, physical and mental, but what I will say is that having a practice to call my own and follow daily was crucial in my recovery.

I have been sewing for as long as I can remember, starting with making dolls clothes as a child, and later progressing onto dressmaking and then quilting. I attended courses and over the years have developed my own style and designs. My aim is to give this traditional craft a contemporary twist with the use of vibrant colours and bold designs. I make all the quilts myself in my home studio. I have a flair for combining colours to create a strong visual impact The inspiration for many of my designs comes from the countryside and creatures which surround me, from pecking chickens, frisking horses and buzzing bees to poppy fields and beautiful garden flowers. My quilts are exhibited at national craft fairs throughout the UK and have been featured in 'Country Living' and 'Aspire magazines'. They are shipped worldwide. Quilting Workshops... Would you like to spend a relaxing and stress free day or weekend? Would you like to learn to quilt? Come along to one of my quilting workshops, run regularly across Herefordshire and Wales. Peculiar Generation Services Ltd is a non-profit organisation limited by guarantee. Their vision is to contribute to the development of the Lancashire community by way of offering their services to the needs of people in the community. Our focus is on how to help rough sleepers, drug-addicted people, young and middle-aged people going through challenges of life. We believe that everyone has a right to shelter in Lancashire, therefore there must be alternative to streets for everyone in the community. This is possible if the community can support the government by contributing their quarter towards the eradication of some of the challenges confronting the grass root. Our aims and activities are to provide shelter for homeless and rough sleepers during cold weather between December and March of every year. During this period we will accommodate them, feed them and provide enabling environment for them. Our research discovered that young adult is now engaging with the drug without caution. It is our concern to have a society that is free of violence and the way we can tackle this seeming problem is to nip it in the bud by way of engaging this young adult through seminar and training. Adults. We will design a program for these people that have gone through abuse and still going through figment of imagination which has caused them depression.
