Co Antrim,

Social Enterprise of the Year 2022 (Social Enterprise Northern Ireland Awards 2022) Social Enterprise of the Year 2021 (Causeway Coast & Glens) The Designerie is a shop, creative hub, workshop and community destination, selling handmade products from Northern Ireland and Ireland. Founded by Enterprise Causeway in 2015, its core purpose is to grow the creative industry and promote creativity within the community, using it to build relationships and connect people.   The idea for The Designerie was born during Christmas 2014, when Enterprise Causeway teamed up with local artists and crafters to make Christmas Trees out of recycled pallets at our industrial estate. We set up a workshop in one of our units at Enterprise Causeway and opened a pop up shop in The Diamond Centre in Coleraine. Now a gorgeous destination in Bushmills - we supports over 80 creatives on the beautiful North Coast. The heart of The Designerie has always been to create a space where people from various social and cultural backgrounds, with different interests, and of all ages can come together to be creative, make new connections and feel inspired. We have delivered this under our support for business and support for community. We want everyone who visits to feel part of the experience, so you can always expect just that when you call in to see us. Whether it’s the feeling you get when you purchase with purpose and support local, or the creative atmosphere you walk into or the various workshops available. You never know, you may even get the chance to try making something yourself.

Tunbridge Wells Winter Lantern Parade

tunbridge wells winter lantern parade

On the lower part of Camden Road in Tunbridge Wells, beyond the traffic lights, there are no Christmas lights. A group of local volunteers got together to organise a parade of light from the town centre, all the way down to the bottom of Camden Road as a way of lighting up the street and celebrating the diverse community that exists within the road itself. The community play ‘The Vanishing Elephant’ had taken place a couple years before and the local volunteers where keen to keep the creative and community spirit alive through the arts and so, CREATE (the community group behind organising the parade) and the Tunbridge Wells Winter Lantern Parade was born. In 2015, our long-running grant was axed. We now fund the parade ourselves with the support of generous local individuals and businesses like you. To help with our fundraising efforts, in 2019 we started making lantern making kits for people to buy so that they could either make their lanterns at one of our workshops leading up to the parade or take them away so they could make one in the comfort of their own home which couldn’t have been made possible without the help of local crafty volunteers to help put the kits together and wonderful local businesses that agreed to sell them on our behalf. To find out how you can support the Winter Lantern parade, please visit our ‘Support’ Page. What started as a fundraising event for a community theatre production has now become a staple part of the Tunbridge Wells community events calendar!

Murray Associates

Sharing is caring and we do both! We share our passion and knowledge; we care about the people we work with and our aim is always to help them, help grow their businesses and improve the way they do it! I started my first business in my mid-20s, which wasn’t successful – but by then I was hooked on business. I had several careers, including hairdressing and finally ended up in financial management for the salon. After a meeting with the company’s accountant, I realised most accountants had no business knowledge and that’s where the idea for Murray Associates came from. I wanted to create an accountancy practice that did more than just prepare accounts for the tax man and Companies House. I also wanted my practice to offer exceptional business advice about growing a client's business. But before I could do that I had to study and get experience!! So finally, in 1997, Murray Associates was created. Heading up an accountancy firm, I regularly came across struggling business owners and it shocked me to see so many of them struggle. They all had one thing in common… …they were selling themselves short. By offering exceptional business advice, and our expert accountancy services, my clients quickly began referring to me as the Queen of Profit! During the last 18 years, in addition to our cloud accounting services. we've been specialising in business growth and growth boosting sessions, growth workshops and individual 1:1 consultancy to help ambitious business owners boost their business profits.
