Hi, I'm Dave, a fully qualified personal trainer, fitness instructor, sports massage therapist and nutrition specialist. I created Edinburgh Bootcamp in April 2016 when I first moved to Edinburgh with my 2 awesome little boys. Now with almost 3000 classes over the last 5 years, EBC has a strong community of amazing people who support each other every week both online and in the field. I love what I do and I make sure every class is the best it can be! EBC is everything you want out of an exercise class! You will laugh, you will sweat and you will feel alive! I developed my passion for health and fitness about 10 years ago and have since had a lot of experience working with people, coaching and now run my own online nutrition programme LeanFit. I used to be 20 kilos overweight and addicted to junk food. I have not always been into health and fitness! I decided one day that is was time to get a hold of my life and turn my health around, this is where my long and bumpy journey started. I have been through countless fad diets and I have fallen off the wagon more times than I care to mention. This has given me valuable life experience that I now use to help others reach their goals and feel amazing everyday! There is so much confusion about exercise and nutrition, but there is no need! Life can be very simple and easy when you understand your own body and have the support you need.

Westfield School is smaller than most: there are currently just over 60 learners on roll, between the ages of 2 and 19. This number varies year on year. The school dates from the early 1970's, but the buildings and grounds have undergone considerable improvement over the years, and now feature six class bases, two sensory areas, a specialist food technology room, therapy room, multi-purpose hall and sensory garden. Other facilities such as hydrotherapy and RDA are accessed via alternative providers. Our playground is divided into four distinct areas to enable different activities to take place with no effect on young people requiring ‘quiet time’. We regard playtimes as an extension of the curriculum and different activities are offered on different days, which enables learning to continue throughout leisure activities. It is a great feeling to witness four of the ECM outcomes happening every time you look out of the window: no-one has yet managed to achieve economic well-being out there!

Matravers School is a large, traditional 11-18 school pleasantly situated in the centre of the market town of Westbury. We occupy a very large, spacious 13-acre site. The school buildings are of mixed age, blending traditional with more modern buildings. Recently the school has benefited from state-of-the-art additions including: an £8.5million STEM (Science, maths, technology) Centre in 2019; a £1.5million upgrade to our English and Humanities block in 2020; a new Dance and Music block added in 2000; a Sports Hall and Dining Hall added in 2004; a Drama block added in 2008; and a new Sixth Form block added in 2012. Technology plays a central part in our school and we benefit from a range of technology and teaching facilities throughout the school. On-site facilities include specialist accommodation for Technology, Art and Ceramics and Photography. There is one large gymnasium for Physical Education alongside a new Sports Centre and a purpose-built fitness suite. The Sports Centre is also used by the community in the evenings. There are a separate Music and Drama building with specialised Dance Studios and Music Performance and Practice rooms. Specialised Science laboratories enable the School to offer a full programme in Science to every student. Our brand new Sixth Form building opened in 2012 to accommodate our Sixth Form offering an exciting and modern learning environment. Here are the most interesting Polish customs which is good to be familiar with: Curious people Polish people are very curious towards international visitors. They are very much interested in different cultures, however if you only look back – nothing has happened 😉 Shaking hands It is very Polish to shake hands when you introduce yourself. YOu do it always with your right, bare hand. It is considered impolite if you do it in a glove. Keeping an eye contact When speaking to someone, keep an eye contact for most of the time. It is not necessary to keep it all the time. If you do not, you might not get what you want. Personal questions It is quite common in Poland to be asked questions which are often considered as private. As Poles are curious people, they like to get into little details, so do not forget to be assertive. Meal schedule Food in Poland is often fat and served with meat. Soups are very popular and offer a great variety of types & tastes. Typically in Poland people eat 3 times a day. Bruderszaft It is a fraternal toast, after which Polish people start to address each other with first names, and declining it can be seen as an insult. Relationships become more cordial after this little ceremony. Bruderszaft is two people raising toasts simultaneously with arms interlocked and drinking. The last part is an exchange of kisses and a handshake.
