Terri has worked in the industry for over 30 years and has enjoyed great success working with Reebok, Daily Record, Scottish Slimmers and most recently Westender Magazine Glasgow, to name just a few. During that busy time Terri also enjoyed a post as a beauty therapy and makeup artistry lecturer at various colleges in Scotland and is still lecturing part time at City of Glasgow College. Here at you School of Makeup we have a small and intimate learning environment with classes comprising from only 4 to 6 students (excluding the Girls day Out course.) We have carefully tailored our courses to the needs of busy men and women who are in the industry and also for people who just need to be pampered. PETA was founded in 1970 by Alex Zemenides who, at the time, was Managing Director of component manufacturing company Sealectro. At the time, Zemenides felt there was a lack of training and development opportunities for his staff in the local area. Training that could be tailored to his staff and business, that met industry and commercial standards and that didn’t have to work around a rigid syllabus or programme. Together with five other local businesses, he created the Portsmouth Engineering Training Association – PETA – that was based in Southsea, Portsmouth. The combined vision of this group was to establish an organisation, controlled by local business, that would be free from external influences to concentrate on the training and development of people employed, or about to be employed, in industry and commerce. As such, PETA was set up to be (and still is) a registered charity, directed by an executive council of leaders elected from our member base. There are no shareholders at PETA, only stakeholders. It will be SFX’s 3rd time to Peru and we are beyond excited to be able to work and live in the local rural communities as well as trekking to Machu Picchu once again.

I am an artist, designer and tutor (the fun bits), as well as marketing manager, social media guru, content writer, website designer, photographer, video editor, sales person and book keeper all rolled into one. I love all things magical, mythical and fantastical, which I think creeps out just a little in my work! I like to appeal to the inner child that lurks inside us all and encourage people to allow their imagination out to play once in a while. Here are a few (hopefully) interesting facts about me and how I got here: I grew up in Hertfordshire, then moved around the UK following my studies and my career. I now live near Bishop Auckland in County Durham (North East England) with my partner and my Daisy dog. I was never interested in traditional art at school and honestly cannot recall a single art lesson beyond primary school. I have a Chemistry degree and a Masters in Forensic Anthropology. I am quite an extreme introvert and can happily go days without any human contact. I spent seven years working in Liverpool as a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI), followed by nine years teaching CSI's from across UK police forces and internationally. In 2015, I started making things in my spare time and started selling some of my creations at local craft fairs. In 2016, I discovered fabric sculpting, became the first certified Powertex tutor in the North East of England and began running my creative workshops in my spare time. In 2017, I was made redundant from my role as a Forensic Trainer and decided to use the opportunity to change careers completely and become a self employed 'artist'. (Most of my friends and colleagues thought I was a bit crazy at this point!) Since 2016, I have brought fun and creativity into the lives of countless adults and children through my workshops. I have also put smiles on the faces of even more people through exhibiting, sharing, displaying and selling my creations. And this is what I love so much about what I do now. I love sharing the happiness I get from creating. I love seeing that little smile appear when people see my creations at markets and events. I love seeing the joy and pride people get from creating something themselves. So, thank you for supporting me. Even if it is just by visiting my website or liking my facebook page, it all allows me to continue spreading happiness as well as making me a very happy, creative bunny.

From feeling less stuck to accepting your past has made you the beautiful person you are, it’s all about doing the things you think you can’t – with me at your side we can achieve your dream, your vision and become the person you always wanted to be.I know where you are, I have been there – the voice in your head saying you are not good enough, or “I want more, something isn’t right, but where do I start?” ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE! It’s all down to mind-set and how you want to show up in the world; with the right attitude, motivation and willpower to shake off the past, stop playing the victim, embrace the present and have clear intensions and clarity for how you want your future to be – then you can also ACHIEVE ANYTHING AND BECOME THE PERSON YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE. Just like I did… Growing up I always had the sense of not fitting in; I felt different from the rest of my family, and although I didn’t know it then, being an empath from a young age, I found my family dynamics confusing with no affection or expression of emotions or love… sometimes I just wanted the biggest hug or to be told I was loved, but it was never forthcoming and I grew up struggling to understand why. At 14, my parents divorced and I was sent to live with my dad, who I had no real connection with and to add to my anxiety, his new partner took a serious dislike to me, finding her solace in bullying me at every opportunity. These early experiences left me with an overwhelming sense of abandonment and sadness leading me to searching for love and connection in all the wrong places; looking outside of myself for some kind of sign that I was good enough. Of course that led me into further dysfunctional relationships and by the time I was 43 and facing my second divorce, looking to a future of being a single mum, I was harbouring hatred and discontentment inside of myself that had been festering for a long time and projecting this onto those around me, feeling destined to rinse and repeat this cycle for the rest of my life. Looking at my daughter, I knew that I didn’t want to continue this way and I certainly didn’t want to pass these patterns onto her, something had to change and it was down to me to change it.
