Edinburgh

Our goal at Edinburgh University Cricket Club is to promote a passion for the game within the university and the wider community. We are a large and inclusive club of seven teams (four men’s, two women’s and a social XI) and compete in both indoor and outdoor competitions. We offer a diverse winter and busy summer schedule to suit any level of ability or commitment. We train three times a week, with specialist coaching available from Joe Kinghorn-Gray, Craig Yelverton and Aashiq Rhode. Our elite indoor squads have extra sessions to maintain our prowess in National Finals. Our Semester One Varsity Day, with both men’s and women’s matches against St Andrews, is always a day to remember that everyone gets involved in. We have a vibrant social scene, with socials and events throughout the semester, giving squads the chance to mix and friendships to blossom. Our annual Casino Night and Ball are some of the biggest nights of the year, and are a chance to dress up in the name of charity. There is also the opportunity to participate in various intramural sports, such as football, netball and hockey, if one sport isn’t enough for you! Our men’s and women’s 1st XI squads play at the highest standard in the BUCS Northern Premier divisions, while the rest of our squads play throughout Scotland. 2022 saw the exciting addition of a women’s 2nd XI and a Social XI, making our club even bigger and better than ever! If you’re interested, make sure to get in touch or come down to our publicised events.

The aim of the Trust is to inspire, educate, and to promote enjoyment and wellbeing for all through gardens and the outdoor environment. Established in 2015 Beth Chatto Education Trust has developed a varied annual programme of courses, workshops, projects and activities for adults, children and community groups. The programme consists of firm favourites that are retained each year and new courses that keep the programme current and interesting. There is something to suit everyone whether you are an experienced horticulturalist or a novice keen to try your hand at something new. We offer RHS Theory qualifications, practical gardening courses, one-day creative workshops, lectures, school visits, Forest school and children’s holiday garden activities. These can run for a morning, a day, termly or up to two years for the RHS qualifications. The Beth Chatto Education Trust aims to facilitate people to access the outdoors, enjoy learning in our gardens and connect with the environment to enhance wellbeing. Many of our courses are based in the Beth Chatto Gardens in our purpose-built education building, the 'Willow Room'. In addition to the formal gardens, we also have a separate ‘wild garden’ which we use with children and for hands-on practical learning. Courses and events can be found and booked on our website. Anubis Training

The Company was formed to fill a recognised gap in the market for specialised, relevant, realistic training. Many companies are so worried about being sued that their training has been sanitised to the point where it no longer resembles the subject being taught. In the first aid industry, we believe this in itself is dangerous practice and as such pay particular attention to the statement made in the HSE guidelines whereby: “Training must be made relevant to the client’s work place.” Lots of courses are one course for all, this, we believe, does not fulfill the above criteria and so at ANUBIS we specialise in producing specific courses for specific groups. Our clients include: Doctors and Surgery Staff, Journalists, Outdoor Instructors, Helicopter Pilots and Crews, Expedition Leaders, Environmental Groups, Childminders, Nursery Staff and School Teachers, Pony Trekking and Off Road Vehicle Enthusiasts. As a Company we are approved by FIAB (First Aid Industry Body). All our instructors are able to teach from experience gained whilst dealing with casualties in a wide variety of environments. Although our courses are run in a relaxed informal manner we are always striving to maintain a professional standard, to this end we regularly run in-house training sessions with all our staff and encourage regular attendance of medical seminars and discussions. Equal Opportunities Policy We are committed to ensuring that all individuals are treated fairly and are valued irrespective of race, gender, health, social class, sexual preference or marital status. The same policy applies on the grounds of age or disability.

David Isherwood

david isherwood

A qualified, experienced Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor, I was born and grew up in Hayfield at the foot of Kinder Scout where the mass trespass paved the way for hillwalking as we know it. My grandfather raced at Le Mans with Rob Lawrie, a boot maker who supplied the Alpine Club expeditions and made boots for Hillary’s ascent of Everest. Given this background, it was inevitable I’d be involved in the outdoors. I love this history but am equally excited about helping future generations and those new to the mountains. I’ve worked in the outdoors since 2006. I believe education and learning is vital and that mountaineering can be a powerful tool to develop people – whether this is a long, life changing journey or simply climbing a single peak as one-off challenge. In addition to working as a Mountain Leader and Instructor my expertise in logistics, planning & project management means I have the capability to deliver highly successful events across a broad range of sectors. I provide logistical & event support services for adventurous activities & challenges to a range of customers including charities, schools, private companies & high net worth individuals. I enjoy a range of outdoor, active sports; hillwalking, skiing, climbing, sailing, cycling (on the road) and swimming in open water. I enjoy introducing the next generation to the outdoors – through the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and supporting primary schools. I’m based in Manchester and work predominantly in the Peak District, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales & Snowdonia, but I am UK mobile.

Stylish Hounds Training Academy

stylish hounds training academy

London

Stylish Hound was founded by two hound-loving humans, Karen and Edward. Edward's background in Design & Branding met with Karen's experience in Design & Product development, led to the pair creating their playful, creative brand late in 2019. Stylish Hound has made leaps and bounds since its birth, connecting with countless dog lovers who are looking for that extra way to show their dedication to their furry friends. Stylish Hound creates products that are affordable, functional, and seriously stylish for both owners and their dogs. Each unique product is specifically designed to integrate into the active, healthy, and fun outdoor lifestyle of a dog owner. The brand's exciting prints, functional focus, and creativity connect dogs with their owners whilst blending seamlessly within a modern, fur-family home. As a contemporary boutique brand, Stylish Hound has been committed to ethical practice, sustainability, and environmental kindness, as seen in its movement towards eco-friendly, biodegradable materials and packaging. Stylish Hound came about through Karen's unending dedication to her four-legged companion, Bagel the Beagle. Karen and Bagel's regular routine was unexpectedly interrupted when she, unfortunately, underwent an accident and found herself with a broken arm. This made trips to the great outdoors with Bagel a significant challenge for Karen, in fact, walking her dog became pretty much impossible. Then came a genius solution, and the brand's signature product, the no-pull harness. From this catalyst came a solution-based brand that makes functional, stylish products that bring humans and hounds closer together.
