Professionally and personally I have always been curious about what makes people ‘tick’ and fascinated by the way we all see the world differently. No matter the talent or capability of an individual, the variable nature of their performance and self-belief remained a mystery and I was interested to understand more about this. In my career as a Learning and Development professional, coach, facilitator and consultant I have worked with leaders through to teams at the customer facing end of business. I’ve supported individuals and organisations to overcome challenges and make the most of their unlimited potential. I’ve explored motivational and psychological theories, I’ve studied behavioural preference models and used various tools and techniques. I’ve implemented behavioural frameworks and designed development strategies, all with the purpose of finding that ‘thing’ that would make a sustainable difference to motivation, performance and well-being. In 2012, in my continuing study of human development, I was introduced to an understanding of the mind I’d not been aware of before. Here were scientific principles that explain all human behaviour, performance and motivation – without exception. It turned my view of how we function and experience our world inside out, literally! I realised that I was not up against what I thought and from that moment, without any conscious effort, life just got simpler, easier and lighter.

Hello, and thank you for popping by. People often ask me why I do what I do. Well, in 2010 I experienced a heartbreaking bereavement to suicide. Sadly, my son’s father, lost his struggle with poor mental health. My son and I faced the challenges and adversity that came with this traumatic experience. This bereavement to suicide contributed towards experiencing a downward spiral of declining mental health. The ‘’just keep swimming’’ mantra, so prevalent in society, became unmanageable. I was drowning and recognised I needed HELP. While researching my way back to good mental health, using tools such as GRM (The Grief Recovery Method ®), Mindfulness and NLP, I discovered that truly HELPful support was hard to find. My realisation that I needed help brought about a motivation to survive and thrive from my experience. I am a proactive and HELPful coach. I use my credentials as a Master NLP practitioner, Grief Recovery Method® Specialist and Mindfulness Teacher to provide an all-encompassing approach that has resulted in helping over 1000 people. My mission is to provide people with HELP that supports positive mental health and prevent other families from experiencing loss due to poor mental health. In all my coaching and training, I apply Honesty and Empathy while really Listening and giving Practical advice that makes a difference. Because it’s OK to ask for HELP.

I am Jacqui Shankly, and I have worked for over 20 years supporting families with young children. I began working in Early Years community music for the charity sector, working with families throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands. I loved my work, and what fascinated me most was the power of music to stimulate fun, playfulness, conversations and connection between children and their parents and carers. So began a lifetime of interest and research into early childhood development and attachment, culminating in training as a Play Therapist and founding Moonbeams CIC, an organisation dedicated to promoting positive childhood mental health through direct work with children, and support for the adults around them. My passion and joy is working with families. Parents are their child’s first and most enduring teacher, and the family dynamic forms the basis of a child’s future view of the world. Parenting is one of the most demanding jobs in the world, and everyone needs support from time to time. My approach is playful, non-judgemental and supportive. Keeping Well in South East London (KWSEL) is a partnership between the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Services provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust (Oxleas), Bromley Healthcare and Mind (Bexley). The KWSEL hub was set up during the Covid-19 pandemic due to the considerable challenges and stresses experienced by health and care professionals. Keeping Well in SEL support is available to all staff delivering health and care services across SEL. This includes a universal offer through a digital portal which includes access to self-help resources, self-assessment, live chat and a community forum. We also offer telephone mental health assessments if you think you need psychological support, and wellbeing conversations if you need someone to talk to. The Keeping Well service is here to provide wellbeing and psychological support to: All NHS staff in South East London All staff in care/residential homes in South East London All voluntary sector staff in South East London, so long as some NHS/social care funding is allocated to your health and care organisation.
