About this Virtual instructor Led Training (VILT)  The Subsea Production Engineering Virtual instructor Led Training (VILT) course provides an overview of all of the functionalities and key interfaces of subsea equipment. The VILT course will refer to relevant industry engineering standards for subsea equipment, subsea tie-backs and critical operational requirements. The sessions will cover challenges associated with equipment design and installability, as well as a new module on subsea tie-backs. The primary learning objectives for this VILT course are met through a combination of interactive presentations, discussion and exercises. Training Objectives By the end of this VILT course, participants will be able to: Apply the requirements of related industry standards (API 6A/ 17D, API 17A etc.) engineering standards Understand the barrier and qualification requirements Identify the barriers in place given a specific mode of operation Evaluate and select which tree alternatives are valid based on the key design drivers Identify and describe the key design drivers Explain the importance of well kill rate Describe which tree alternatives are valid for certain scenarios based on an evaluation of the key tree design requirements Examine what effects subsurface requirements may have on tree design Understand the challenges associated with designing equipment for manufacturability and installability Recognise the implications of design changes to specific components and the effects on transportation and installation (such as what type of vessels, lifting equipment, and tools to use and the logistical requirements) Recognise the implication of design changes on manufacturability of subsea equipment Target Audience This VILT course provides a comprehensive understanding of the equipment used in subsea production systems. It is designed for petroleum engineers, production engineers, subsea project engineers and is also highly suitable for cost, planning, offshore installation and offshore operations engineers. Training Methods The VILT course will be delivered online in 4 half-day sessions comprising 4 hours per day, with 2 breaks of 10 minutes per day. In 2003, he broadened his horizons and became an independent Training & Development consultant. Building a reputation for delivering training and development to the Oil & Gas industry to the highest standards, he later joined Jee Ltd, a leading subsea engineering and training company based in Aberdeen. He was tasked with a wide portfolio of training, coaching & mentoring to achieve high levels of competence for the client's staff and customers. He is also a Science and Engineering Ambassador (Scotland), promoting the need for engineers and technicians for Scotland's industries, a frequent consultant to the European Economic & Social Committee for standardising Vocational Skills training and competence throughout the EU. Who is this Level 3 NVQ aimed at? The electrical NVQ is designed for those with five or fewer years of experience in the electrical industry, and who have completed their City & Guilds 2365 Level two and three diplomas. Prior to joining, candidates will be assessed on their readiness for the Level 3 NVQ. What does this Electrical NVQ cover? This Level 3 Diploma covers Domestic, Commercial, and Industrial sectors – it will include a range of units of New Installations such as: Health and Safety Overseeing and organising work environment Applying environmental legislation Inspection and Testing Fault finding Professional discussions with assessors AM2 (this is a separate course and has an additional cost.) This is not a training course; it is an assessment of competence. Unlike other courses, this will not be based in a classroom or workshop – instead, candidates will complete this qualification on work placement. Candidates will complete electrical installations on-site, and they will then be assessed by a qualified assessor, building their portfolio. Only a small amount of this will involve going to a training centre. Before entering a workplace, your assessor will go over and help you understand: How to build a portfolio What range of evidence is required to meet the qualification criteria What assessors are looking for in order for candidates to demonstrate full professional competence Assessors will use a range of methods to evaluate candidate’s electrical installations such as; witness testimony, photographic evidence, direct observation, and reflective accounts. How long does the NVQ take to complete? The length differs for each candidate as it depends on how quickly they take to cover the types of work required to complete all units. If you have been working in the industry, previous jobs can be used as evidence to hurry the process up. What qualifications will I gain? Once candidates have completed their portfolio and other assessments, they will gain a formal City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ certificate. This tool uses both process and graphic facilitation to help any group develop a shared vision and then to make a start on working out what they will need to do together to move towards that vision. MAPS are great for threshold moments. Is your team stuck? Want to move on, haunted by the past cannot get any useful dialogue about the future? Facing a challenging transition into a new school or setting? Leaving school? Bored with annual reviews, transition plans and review meetings? Want to find a way of making meetings and planning feel more real and engaging? Need an approach, which engages a young person respectfully together with his or her family and friends? The group is required to think back over the years to describe their collective experience of changes and events over time within their settings. Stories and events are recorded on the graphic. Building Shared Dreams. The group thinks together about what they would love to see happening for children, families and practitioners in their settings if they could have it all. If there were no constraints on time, money, resources, people or anything else what do they see happening in their imaginations? The various ideas that the group comes up with are then recorded in key words, images and colours on the MAP graphic. The purpose of this Step is to give the group a sense of direction, their North Star, an image of the place they want to work towards. Nightmare. In this Step, the group imagines the worst scenarios. What is the opposite of their dreams? How bad could it get? This is a shorter but powerful process that can give some groups more energy than dreaming together. Gifts and Capacity. In this Step the group is asked to take explicit stock of their capacities and what they already have going for them as they begin working towards the vision. This is a strong reminder for any group of the wealth of knowledge and experience that is already and always in the room. Needs. In this Step the group is invited to begin to name some of the needs they will have if they are to move forward to wards the dream and away from the nightmare. Actions. This is the final Step in the MAP and calls for individuals within the group to name a range of very specific actions (however small) that they will take within a definite time scale. This is not a time for declaring good intentions or suggesting good ideas for someone else to do. The purpose of this Step is to end the MAP process with a range of clearly understood actions that carry this planning process forward into the real world.
