The 2-day SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) training course is one of the courses that forms part of the CITB Site Safety Plus range of courses and is available via a network of CITB accredited providers.

For higher risk or larger workplaces/organisations such as engineering, factories, restaurants, warehousing, construction or for those who use chemicals. This is also the appropriate course for larger low risk workplaces or workplaces who have employees with medical conditions. Assessment Continual assessment is used, combined with a number of observed practical activities and 3 short theoretical assessments, supported by our experienced trainers. Our one-day Park Tool School Basic: Ride with Confidence Course is perfect for anyone looking to learn how to address common issues while out riding. It is suitable for people with little to no knowledge of bike maintenance. This course is intended to ensure that participants leave at the end of the day with the confidence to fix common problems with their bikes. The maximum group size is 7. Our fully trained mechanic will be on hand to answer questions as they come up, and there is plenty of opportunity for practice. This course is fully endorsed by the Bikeabillity Trust for mechanic certification! For those participants seeking a Bikeability accreditation, there will be an assessment after the training. Please note for all other participants there is no assessment.   Course Detail Basic Mechanical Skills – tools, stands, home shop set-up, tension & torquing bolts, lubrication, threadlockers & cleaners, health & safety Safety “M” check Tyres, tube & puncture repair (innertube replacement), with wheel removal and installation Looking after your drivetrain: lubrication, cleaning and wear of chains, rear sprockets and chainrings Disc brake systems – differences of cable vs hydraulic, rotors, basics of brake alignment, pad replacement Caliper rim brake adjustment and pad replacement for v-brake, dual pivot road caliper and cantilever Field repairs – what tools to take and tips & tricks to get you home! In this morning session, you will create your very own set of 3 silver stacking rings. You will learn how to calculate your finger size, solder, form the metal, and texture and polish the silver to create your lovely stack of rings. You can decide on their design to create your own individual set. This is an excellent starting project for a beginner. For those with more experience, it is an opportunity to develop your skills further. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None, all abilities are welcomed. Our small classes mean we are able to provide each student with the support they require. Students must be 16+ CLASS SIZE: 7 WHAT IS INCLUDED? All tools and consumables are supplied The cost of this course includes materials. YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH: Two 7.5 cm lengths 2mm silver sterling round wire One 7.5 cm length 2mm beaded silver sterling wire If you wish to purchase additional silver to create more rings (should time allow), we stock silver which you are able to purchase on the day. WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of.
