Cove Park’s unique programme of residencies, commissions and collaborative projects respond to and support the diversity of contemporary artistic practice in all the art forms. We host national and international artists from all cultures and career stages. We create a supportive and stimulating context in which new work and ideas can be developed, tested and shared. The bespoke and award-winning spaces we provide for residents and visitors to live, meet and work in, are located on an outstanding site overlooking Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde, just one hour from Glasgow, on Scotland’s west coast. Founded in 1999 by Peter and Eileen Jacobs, Cove Park is a charity funded by Creative Scotland, by trusts and foundations and by the generosity of individuals. Since 2000, Cove Park has hosted over 1,500 artists and our former residents include Margaret Atwood, Ann Carson, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Mariana Castillo Deball, Alasdair Gray, Beca Lipscombe, Tom Morris, Ciara Phillips, Elizabeth Price, Charlotte Prodger, Simon Starling, Christos Tsiolkas, Jan Verwoert and Louise Welsh. We develop residency programmes in partnership with leading national and international companies, art schools and organisations, including Varuna – Australia’s National Writers’ House, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Gaelic Books Council, Lolli Editions, Senegal’s RAW Material Company, The Royal Scottish Academy, CCA: Centre for Contemporary Arts, Fluxus Art Projects, The Work Room and more. We host and facilitate residencies devised and led by prominent organisations, such as BBC Scotland, Magnetic North, Cryptic, and Playwrights’ Studio Scotland. We also commission new work and work collaboratively with partners on major national and international projects such as Scotland + Venice 2019 and Creative Carbon Scotland’s Climate Beacons. Cove Park co-leads, with Saari Residence (Finland), the Nordic Alliance of Artists’ Residencies on Climate Action.

In his presidential address in 1920 to the Iron and Steel Institute, Dr Stead revealed that he had discussed many years earlier with Andrew Carnegie his ideas for a technical institute which would facilitate "the continual acquisition of knowledge by the staffs and workmen of the iron and steel industries". Andrew Carnegie was impressed by Dr Stead's conception and told him "he would pay for just such an institute in Middlesbrough, and equip it with the standard technological books if the directors of the industries would maintain it". Discussions took place between Dr Stead and individual ironmasters who, while approving the scheme, would not act without further consideration. Andrew Carnegie died so his offer was no longer available. It is to the credit of the ironmasters that in spite of this they responded to the vision and enthusiasm of Dr Stead and the Cleveland Technical Institute was born. After many years of patient perseverance and hard work the Cleveland Technical Institute opened on 22nd September 1921. By then Dr Stead's health was failing but he became the Institute's first president, a position which brought him deep satisfaction. Iron and steel, shipbuilding and engineering were the basic traditional industries of the Cleveland area and it was to the leaders in these industries that Dr Stead made his first approaches. A joint Committee representing the Cleveland Institute of Engineers and the North-East Coast Institute of Engineers and Shipbuilders was formed and held its first meeting on 5th January 1919, in the Cleveland Club, Middlesbrough. Members of the Joint Committee were: Cleveland Institute of Engineers - Dr JE Stead, JH Harrison, RH Archer-Coulson and RE Cowell. NE Coast Engineers and Shipbuilders - EL Ord, E Hall-Brown, Harald Dixon, EH Fraser-Smith and GM Harroway.

Hi, I’m Angharad and I live in Hull with my husband Paul, our two boys Caden and Colby and dog Phoebe. Since having my sons, I longed for a career change that gave me more time with my family. With being in the hairdressing industry for 19 years I knew what I enjoyed most was working with people. After much research I found Tots Play. Not only had I found a class that appealed to me as a mother with all the variety it offered, but also made me excited at the thought of being able to help parents or carers develop their connection to their child with all the benefits baby massage, yoga, signing, music, movement and sensory play provides. I will also make sure you take away lots of fantastic ideas to carry on the fun times at home. Having my youngest in the first lockdown has shown me how important baby and toddler classes are, not just for little ones but for helping parents bond with their child, as well as building invaluable supportive relationships with others in the same situation. Being a parent can be incredibly challenging and lonely sometimes so finding a class where you can share stories, laugh about the adorable or cringy moments and feel part of a community is irreplaceable. Edge of Play, formed in late 2017, is an online coaching resource, providing football coaches with hundreds of football coaching videos from the grassroots and professional game. Our website is subscription based and features videos from grassroots coaches, elite level clubs, academies and professional players all sharing exciting ideas and insights. The site allows you to link in with your social media profiles to share content with peers, clubs and players. Our vision is to build a global, inclusive, online community of coaches: learning, interacting and creating, together. It is through our work with our clubs, that we have become acutely aware of the challenges facing amateur, semi-pro and even professional coaches. We know that in coaching (like most other jobs) people are always looking for new content to ensure their players remain in love with the game; to keep them engaged, learning, developing, and most importantly having fun. However, we are also aware that not everyone has the same circumstances, opportunities, or environment in which to coach. Therefore we are to provide the best service for the lowest cost! Whether you are a professional, academy or grassroots coach, or simply a mum or dad wanting to practice with your son or daughter in the back garden, Edge of Play will provide the same inclusive experience. WHO WE ARE We are lifelong friends and FA qualified coaches: Jack Norbury and James Stokes. Football coaching is our passion and we want to share this with the largest possible audience with an aim to support, guide and promote sports coaching all around the world. The Leeds Library is the oldest surviving subscription library of its type in the UK and was founded in 1768. Annual membership from £66. Founded in 1768, The Leeds Library is a gem of a heritage library and the oldest surviving subscription library of its kind in the British Isles. We have a fascinating history. We’re Leeds’s oldest cultural institution—a thriving hub of creativity, ideas and inspiration and a book lover’s paradise! Amongst our founding members were eminent doctors, surgeons, clergymen, leading industrialists and businessmen, alongside members of The Royal Society. Revd Dr Joseph Priestley, our first secretary and most likely the primary driving force behind the Library’s creation, was perhaps the most famous of these men. A leading enlightenment thinker, radical preacher, and Fellow of The Royal Society, Priestley was celebrated for his experiments concerning electricity and oxygen—and the invention of carbonated water! In the beginning, the Library occupied a back room at Joseph Ogle’s bookshop on Kirkgate and he became the first librarian. When he died in 1774, his daughter, Mary, was appointed Librarian and remained so for another 37 years until her death in 1813. Over this period, the Library proved to be so successful that it outgrew this modest first home and moved further along Kirkgate to the Rotation Office. A few years later and a move to new premises was required once again to house the ever-growing collection of books. In 1808, the Library moved to a new purpose-built home on Commercial Street where we remain to this day. Built by Thomas Johnson, the town’s leading architect, the grade II* listed building is a rare surviving example of a Georgian public library.

Knitted by Lw was created back in 2018 whilst on Maternity leave with my Son Archie. My background is in Fashion and Textiles design, obtaining a 1st Class hons in this subject but specialising in Knitwear my specialist area were hand and machine knitting. I went onto freelancing in swatch design, pattern writing and many other creative roles. Why Chunky Merino Wool? I fell in love with the softness and luxurious quality of Merino wool – I have always been fascinated by various wool yarns, this certain yarn is so versatile and being SUPER chunky it is satisfying to you use as the knit grows so quickly! Which is a bonus. It started with my Signature Chunky heart wreaths, I continued to develop my ideas. I started off for my blankets using Chunky Metre Long wooden Knitting needles, then came across the art of Arm knitting via a tutorial I came across. I then decided to venture on with this idea and started my Arm knitting Workshop classes, Fast forward 2 years later minus the few lockdowns Knitted by Lw workshops are more successful and are constantly growing and becoming popular. As you can Imagine I started to take over the house, My talented husband Ryan came to my rescue and built me my very own garden studio (He is the best!) this is where I also run small intermit workshops – my happy place! Thank you, Thank you! I would just like to say a massive thank you to every single person who has support me over the years, from buying my chunky knitted creations to attending one or two of Arm knitting workshop. It means so much, I am forever grateful.

Who are we? We are Revved Up. We provide paid work experience for young people from L8 and the surrounding areas to prevent them from being involved in serious organised crime. What do we do? Young, disadvantaged people who are at risk are given opportunities to recruit for and co-facilitate youth projects, events and community consultations. During their time with us, young people are given the opportunity to join our list of members, contribute to/learn the operations/ day-to-day running of our community business, they are all also given personal development programmes, 1:1 coaching and mentoring, social prescribing and business start-up advice. We have regular staff trips and excursions to come up with ideas and celebrate recent successes, these are all chosen by the young people. Our community business originates from another organisation called This Is My Story Limited (TIMS). Over 5 years ago TIMS was founded by Phillip Taylor (1957-2021) Adam Taylor, Sophie Middleman, Mike Hobbs and Deborah Fitzsimmons. The purpose of this organisation was to work with disadvantaged young people involved in crime, drug activity, addiction and those who had severe mental health problems. Adam and his family have spent most of their lives in Toxteth L8 Liverpool and it is one of the most disadvantaged areas in the country. The majority of the work that TIMS did was in Toxteth working with young people (all of whom were referred by word of mouth) that needed help in one of these areas. When TIMS was 2 years old, our founder (Adam Taylor) noticed that the young people he was working with through TIMS expressed a desire to follow in his footsteps and decided to try and make that happen, that is when he started Revved Up Limited.

The International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport ( ISPAS ), and its predecessor the International Society of Notational Analysis (ISNAS - 1991), was founded to improve the international cooperation in the field of Analysis of Sport. Obviously, the internationalization of this discipline is of great importance for the exchange of views, the discussion and presentation of current research results as well as the realization of joint research projects. Until now the Society has existed quite informally – its main purpose was to ensure the continuing excellence in its World Conferences in Liverpool (1991), Cardiff (1993), Turkey (1995), Porto (1998), Cardiff (2001), Belfast (2004) and Szombathely, Hungary (2006). But now with the rapid growth of Performance Analysis as a discipline and career, there is a need for the Society to assume more formal responsibilities. The Society now has the following purposes/objectives: dissemination of scientific knowledge concerning performance analysis of sport providing a forum for the exchange of ideas bridging the gap between researchers and practitioners gather and disseminating information, scientific knowledge and materials on performance analysis of sport counselling other organisations in questions of performance analysis of sport Representation of computer science in sport in other scientific associations It's tasks are: Editing the e-journal, the International Journal of Performance Analysis of Sport (eIJPAS) Organization of 2 – 3 workshops each year, preferably rotating the venues internationally. Maintaining the web-site as a forum of communication for performance analysts and/or any other interested parties. Manage the organisation of the World Conference at different venues around the world, bi-annually when possible. Monitor the scientific content of the papers and presentations at the Conference, and produce the Proceedings Organise and manage accreditation and registration of Academic Performance Analysts and Consultant Performance Analysts of sport

Who : Creative Catalyst (Scotland) CIC is a social enterprise which supports young people into Creative Careers. After establishing and running a similar two year pilot project for young creatives as part of the lead up to Perth Creative Exchange and The Famous Grouse Ideas Centre opening , founding director Helen O’Brien decided to take the model of this project forward as a social enterprise. In September 2019 we successfully received ‘Start It’ funding from Firstport, and moved into our new studio at Perth Creative Exchange in November 2019. We have just received Firstport ‘Build It’ funding to support and embed our development in 2021-22. We offer creative employability opportunities for young people who face barriers to employment and training in Perth & Kinross. This project is specifically targeted at young creative individuals who need support to develop their confidence in their creative skills and abilities, and signpost to other opportunities and experiences that will support them with next steps of a creative career. We work alongside other 16+ support agencies in Perth & Kinross who refer young people to us, and we welcome individuals and support workers to contact us directly. How: We offer work experience and mentoring opportunities with professional artists and makers who run live creative projects for us, from design and prototyping an idea, to making a final product, marketing and selling; visit shop here. These projects develop a broad spectrum of practical creative and transferable skills including using imagination, problem solving, clear communication, persistence, self discipline, collaboration and working to a deadline. We also run creative workshops and programmes for children, families and communities which offer opportunities for our young people to work alongside a lead artist to gain confidence and experience of delivering projects with different age groups.
